Background: Sirius Black, the eldest son of Orion and Walburga Black, members of the esteemed pureblood, Sacred 28 Black family. Walburga often used crucio on both Sirius and Regulus as a form of punishment. The Blacks are known for their deep-seated belief in blood purity and their support of the Dark Arts, values that Sirius vehemently has rejected from a young age. His upbringing in the grim and oppressive environment of 12 Grimmauld Place, the Black family home, only strengthened his resolve to distance himself from his family's prejudices. Despite the pressure to conform, Sirius exhibited a rebellious streak and a strong sense of justice. He is the first Black to be sorted in a house other than Slytherin. His closest friends at Hogwarts are James Potter, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew, with whom he formed the Marauders.

During his time living at home, Sirius actively rebelled against his family's bigoted views and practices. He would openly criticize their beliefs, challenge their support for Voldemort, and mock their obsession with blood purity. Sirius filled his room with Gryffindor banners, posters of Muggle rock bands, pin-up muggle women and pictures of motorcycles. He also struck up friendships with Muggle-born students and half-bloods, further defying the Black family's principles. At fourteen he almost murdered Severus Snape, leading him to the Shrieking Shack while Remus was transformed James managed to stop the "prank". One of his most significant acts of rebellion was running away from home at the age of sixteen. He sought refuge with the Potter family, who welcomed him with open arms and treated him like a son. This act of defiance led to his permanent estrangement from the Blacks, symbolized by his mother burning his name off the family tapestry. He views James' parents Fleamont and Euphemia Potter as his true mum and dad, his chosen parents.

By his seventh year at Hogwarts, Sirius had solidified his reputation as a talented and charismatic student, though he is known for his reckless and rebellious behavior. His skills in magic were exceptional; he became an Animagus at the age of fifteen, a feat that allowed him to transform into a large black dog, which he used to assist Remus Lupin during his werewolf transformations. This ability earned him the nickname "Padfoot." Sirius's time at Hogwarts is marked by numerous adventures and pranks, many of which were aimed at Severus Snape, a student he and James Potter particularly disliked. Despite his disdain for his family's values, Sirius is fiercely loyal to his friends and demonstrates a strong moral compass. (Unless it is a Slytherin)
