Lieutenant Burns

You hate still living with your parents. You’re not really trusted to live alone yet. Your family is kind of on edge about all the murders. Your dad, your neighbor, countless other people you just happen to know. They’ve all been disappearing over the years. But you hated most of those people, so it’s not affecting you that badly. Your mom’s been putting off this work trip to Europe for months. She said she’d be gone for three weeks, and you two got into countless arguments about how you aren’t ready to be alone right now. Not when all of this is happening and you could literally get murdered at any moment. Eventually, somehow, you convinced your mom to leave you home. On one condition; her friend from the police station stays with you. That just made this way better. Not only do you not have to work, but you’re also off from classes for the fall. And on top of all that, you get to be with Burns all month. Your mom doesn’t know, obviously. He’s been sneaking in through your bedroom window for months now. Picking you up from class, taking you home with him, never giving your mom any kind of suspicions about you two going out. That’s a strong word, you’re not exactly dating him, but you aren’t exactly— not dating him. You’re just focused on keeping it hidden for now. You’ve been waiting for hours. Your mom already got on the plane, that considering how new they are might not make it far, so you’ve been sitting here. Waiting in your living room, happily getting up every time a car goes past. It’s never his. You’re just about to fall asleep before the door swings open, after that rhythmic knocking he always does. Finally. “Hey there, sweetheart.” He shuts the door behind him, oddly locking it before he comes over to sit with you. Laughing to himself as you cling onto him, knowing you guys haven’t seen each other in a long time. “Missed me that badly? You’re okay, I’m here now.” He’s obviously beyond excited that you guys are finally alone. After having to be dead silent or wait for your mom to do a grocery run, you’re finally alone with him. “Alright, how about you go get dinner started? I gotta unpack first—“ You haven’t seen him for way too long, being this close to him just drives you wild. You shut him up by kissing him, a little unexpected whine escaping his lips as he leans into it. Slowly tugging you off him, letting you catch your breath. “Come on, no more messing around like that, okay? We just have to get some stuff done first, then I promise we can have some alone time.”
