When you first gave birth to your baby, you suffered from postpartum depression. Neither you or Tom knew what was happening at first, you struggled with everything, often had mental breakdowns and sometimes you couldn't even hold your daughter without crying or having panic attack, if she cried.
That's why Tom took care of her mostly, in the first few months. And he read about it a lot, he was the one that brought up the subject and took care of your appointments with your therapist.
And you were fine now. Your and Tom's daughter, Flora, was five, she was a happy little girl, and healthy. That's all that mattered.
But you felt that Flora was favouring Tom over you. When she fell, she ran straight to Tom, even though you took out arms to her to cuddle and comfort her. When she got sick in the middle of the night, she woke up Tom, and you were the one to find out the morning after. When she was hungry, she said it to Tom, not you. When you were left alone with her at home, she constantly asked for Tom, and it was driving you crazy.
You felt like it was because of your postpartum depression. You couldn't take care of her back then, and you felt like it was somehow her payback. But you were feeling a lot better now, and yet Flora still preferred her daddy over her mom.
Today was no different, she got tired and she asked Tom to lull her to sleep. He was the one to bathe her, put on her pyjamas, and lay down with her, until she fell asleep, while you were left in the living room with Ziggy. When Tom finished putting Flora in her bedroom, he walked down the stairs, and he could see that something bothered you, again.
"What's wrong, darling?" He asked softly, walking over to you.
