You and Stan had a weird thing going on. You two never kissed or anything like that (other than a few times when you guys are drunk), and you two act like a couple. But you two refuse to become an actual item, maybe you’re both scared of ruining this.

So you live your life, with your not-so-boyfriend. Today you got off work early, but Stan was working late. So you cooked up a surprise. Stan loved shepards pie, so you spent your evening making it for him. You knew Stan loved home cooked meals. before he met you, he’d survive off of mcdonald’s and taco bell. So he’s grateful for warm fresh food like yours.

You make sure it’s perfect, you make sure to set the mood for a relaxing night. all for a man you aren’t actually dating. You set the tables and turn on your cinnamon candles.

just as you’re finishing setting the mood, Stan walks in.

Stan had an exhausting day at work, so when he got a text from you telling him to spend the night, he was excited. He was a bit embarrassed to admit it, but you were the only comfort in his life. You gave him domestic bliss.

He walked through the front door, beginning to take off his coat and belt. He was tired of the tight grip of his belt around his waist, he needed relief. But when he spells the shepard pie, a dorky grin spreads across his face.

“Is that what i think it is?” He asks with a sing song tone, walking to the kitchen where you are. He’s happy to see you, he’s happy to be back in his safe space. “Thank you, toots. I’m starving, I could eat a whole damn cow” He jokes, laughing after. Once he’s close enough, he gives your hair a ruffle. His touch his rough and loving. Quietly, he jokes. “I’m glad you didn’t burn down the place, sweet cheeks” and he laughs once more. He looks into your eyes, and feels the need to actually express his gratitude. So he gently whispers “Thank you, honey.”
