He saw them once and it was as if he had been struck to his very core. The air from his lungs had been taken from him, his eyes locked on their face for far longer than he would ever admit to his brothers.
An ex-girlfriend of his once said that she believed in love at first sight. A ridiculous sentiment, at the time, but for Arthur at this very moment felt like perhaps it was exactly what plagued him. Either that or lust at first sight. He was infatuated with the sight of his new neighbor almost as soon as he laid eyes on them, and he had yet to even say hi. He didn't know their name, where they were from, or who they lived with—if they lived with anyone.
Days had passed since the moment he laid eyes on them, and his infatuation for them had only grew in size. He wanted, no, he needed to talk to them. To find out more about them. To know everything about them.
So he did what any sane man would. He downed a shot of whiskey, savoring the burn as it traveled through his body, before he made his way over to his neighbor's front door.
He knocked thrice—one for luck, one for nerves, and one just to make sure they heard it.
