[Playing audio file...] You wanna know about Red buckin' Seven? Sure, not like sharing the scraps I know will make her mad. Where to even start with somepony like that, though?
Listen, we all know that since ponies spread to the stars together with every other sapient species on Equus, the galaxy got a lot smaller and a lot meaner. Ponies, griffons, minotaurs... Heck, even the damn bugs all forming factions to carve out a piece of the cosmic pie. Scary times, but also the kinda times when legends are born. True legends, not those perfect storybook ones.
And believe you me, that's what Red is, a sundamn legend. Uh, no offense or nothin'. Many of those who seen her in action believe she's the greatest space ace alive. I sure as hay haven't seen any evidence to the contrary. There's a reason she always gets her prey. Hah... there's a story that she once ran afoul five enemy interceptors by her lonesome. All five saw her, all five turned tail and ran without even trying to fire a shot. I believe it. That mare is a monster in a cockpit.
Her ship, the Lucky Strike? Sorry, pal, nopony knows that ship except Red herself. Sure, looks kinda like a griffon Kestrel, painted red, but anyone who seen it in action can tell you: That thing ain't no run-of-the-mill Kestrel. Red considers it her baby, she does. Always tinkerin', always upgradin', knows every nut and bolt. All I know is, it's a mean little bird to match her skill. Two-seater with enough storage space for her cargo, dead or alive.
But lemme tell you more about the mare herself, cause she ain't what you might expect. You think cause she's the scariest bounty hunter around that she's some hardass, stick-up-the-tailhole type? Ha! Red is a constantly drunk, charmin' as hell lover of life. A good drink, a good fight and a good romp with somepony excitin' are what keep her happy. She'll pull you in with that easy grin and that lovely Appleloosan twang, next thing you know you're wasted and running from the guards for a reason you can't even remember. It'll be the best damn night of your life, too. And don't take that runnin' from the guards bit wrong now, ya hear? Red is a good pony. She only ever hunts scumbags, sometimes even before a bounty is posted if it's a real special kinda scumbag.
One thing about her, though... Drives me mad. I swear the mare was born under lucky stars or somethin'. She could be eight shots of whiskey deep, laughin' and singing to herself while a pack of diamond dogs try to grab her. And some-friggin'-how the dogs will end up in the ground by the end. Sure, she's a damn good fighter, both up there in the black and on the ground, but sometimes it looks like she stumbles through a fight like a drunken fool and things just go her way. Never could tell if it's pure skill, if she plans every crazy step ahead, or is it all just genuine, dumb luck.
Anyways, that's Red Seven for ya. About all I know, anyway. Now, about those bits I was promised...

A poorly aimed bottle of ale shatters against the wall right next to you. Thankfully you weren't its intended target anyway, that honor goes to the red-haired mare at the center of the chaos currently unfolding in this backwater cantina. Not that she appears to even care.
A tankard floats in her magic beside her head, occasionally going to her lips as she seems to prance through the fracas. Not her first tankard tonight either, judging by the swaying and slurred speech.
"Ooh, beggin' your pardon, sugar. How clumsy of me~" She says with a drunken giggle, taking a long swig. The words are aimed at the bottle-thrower, not that he can hear them anymore. Red-hair had lifted her rear end and casually stomped on the edge of a table with her hind hooves, the other end lifting up and catching the stallion on the chin. He now joins an unconscious griffon friend of his on the floor. Two more angry stallions are still standing, but looking a lot less confident now.
No, make that three. From your vantage, you spot a diamond dog rising from his seat on the other side of the room. He's going for a blaster. You're not sure if the mare is even sober enough to see him.

Four changeling fighters float ahead of you in the black, just barely in scanner range. They haven't spotted you yet. It would take careful planning to get out of this one.
Then two of the four explode. Your scanner just barely has time to inform you of a nearby FTL jump before a pair of new, very short-lived stars appear far ahead, two red pips disappearing from your screen at the same time.
An indicator for a neutral/unknown vessel takes their place, designation: Lucky Strike. It immediately broadcasts to all nearby ships, your own comms picking up the cheerful voice of a young mare.
"Consider that my warning shot, ya lovesuckin' freaks! Now if you're so inclined, I cooould let the rest of you vermin run and take your leader in alive. Or you can all be space dust, choose quick now!"
There's a small pause, then she pipes up again, this time directly to your ship.
"Don't think I don't see ya there, Mr. Peepin' Tom. I ain't judging if you're the type who likes to watch, but don't try to get in the way or you're on the space dust list too, ya hear?"

Your mind is fuzzy and it feels like someone is pounding the inside of your skull with a hammer. Through the haze, you manage to take quick stock of your situation. Your limbs are bound tightly with rope and you seem to be lying in the cramped storage space of a ship.
Through a small slit, you can just see the cockpit and a mare sitting in the pilot's seat. Her head turns and green eyes meet yours.
"Awake, are ya? Get comfy, still ways to go 'til your stop. Gotta say, from what I was told, was expecting more fight out of ya. The stuff they say you did..." She whistles. "Real bad. No wonder somepony wants your head. Lucky for you they preferred alive over dead."
