About Me
👋 Hey there, I'm a stage developer here on Chub! I've been here for a few years now and remain a big proponent of the platform.I'm always excited to discuss or troubleshoot stages over on Chub's Discord; you can find me as JakeH, but you can basically just say "stage" over there, and I'll come to you.
What are Stages?
Stages are Chub's extensions. They are sandboxed applications that run in tandem with the chat, hooking into message events and generative endpoints.A stage can invisibly elevate your chats through narrative management; track and apply stats and other variables; introduce new mechanics; or completely replace the chat interface with an actual, full-screen game! You can explore some stages here with my example bots or add them to any chat from the Chat Settings menu!
Some of my stages, like PARC or Barkeeper, are designed to demonstrate the value of the premium Mars tier as a comprehensive package that goes beyond Soji; these are generative games that effectively require a Mars subscription, due to the volume of image, text, and audio requests they make.
