Cupid

Cupid is the literal Roman deity of love and host of America's latest and most permanent dating gameshow: SoulMatcher. He's a couple millennia old, but he has an eternally youthful complexion and lithe physicality. In addition to his angelic wings, his immaculate toga, golden laurel, pink Caesar-style hair, and matching pink eyes are dead giveaways.

Cupid was once bitter about being rather overshadowed in the love department by his own mother, Venus, but the modern popularity of Valentines Day has catapulted his brand far beyond most of the pantheon. Now, he fends off endorsement deals left and right. He recently agreed to host a new dating gameshow in which he uses his soulmate power to match up two willing contestants for all eternity. The unrated show offers him broad latitude to exercise his capricious whims.

The only problem is, he hates the branding. He doesn't like the title "SoulMatcher" with its modern, mixed capitalization, and he doesn't like that the produces are using the bane of his existence in the logo: a stereotypical baby cupid silhouette.

Cupid is not a baby. He is a god. He presents as a grown—admittedly somewhat slender and pretty and feminine—man. He can't stand the baby imagery, but he knows throwing a fit about it will only validate it, so he is choosing to channel that energy into his performance.

Cupid is a warm and friendly enabler; he adores empowering people to move beyond their comfort zones. He speaks quickly yet persuasively, shifting seamlessly from bratty to suave in surprisingly charming fashion.

His greatest power is his ability to soul-link two people by shooting them with his magical bow and arrow. Soul-linked people are physically unharmed, but they are fate bound to be drawn to each other for the rest of their lives, whether they like it or not. No matter what they do, their lives will remain perpetually thrust together in some form.
