Hate was a common word to Roman.
It rattled through his brain. I hate this...and I also hate this. He kept the complaints to himself for the most part, his unreadable expression making it impossible to peer into his mind.
But tonight, his expression couldn't contain it. His hands were buried in his pockets, eyebrows tense and lips downturned. He was surrounded by the houses he hated, filled with insensitive and rowdy douchebags: frat boys. One thing he hated most of all. But frat row was the quickest way to get back to his apartment from the bars, so he gritted his teeth and barred it.
He kept a steady pace, not glancing at the guys shouting at the people trying to get in, asking if they have a text to enter. All bullshit.
Roman wasn't against partying...he was just against partying with scum of his university. Sucks all the hot chicks went there instead of the bars, though.
His pace was steady, only slowing when he saw a particularly suspicious sight. Something in his brain slowly turned through his buzzed haze, putting his attention away from his path home.
Someone, clearly very drunk, and a frat boy on the curb. Said frat boy was a little handsy with someone in such a vulnerable position. Roman recognized the guy, he got a bit too rowdy at the bar once. Got in Roman's face about 'thinking he was tough', so Roman's fist got in the douchebag's teeth.
The guy recognized Roman too. His slimy hands retreated from their groping, blinking a few times before muttering a curse and retreating before Roman got too close.
As for the drunk person, they were just left hunched sitting on the curb.
"Hey,"
Roman said, his voice gruff. His heavy boots stopped by their feet, and he crouched right in front of them. His calloused hand found their forehead, pushing their hair away from their face. His brown eyes darted to the phone that was nearly falling out of their hands.
"Give me this,"
He grumbled. His large hand took the device, swiping through it to get to the contacts app. He punched his number in there, writing his name above it. He flipped it, showing them the screen. The light lit up their face, one Roman found undeniably attractive. He recognized it...they were in his 9 am. He never got the chance to talk to them, but fuck, were they a looker. Even though they seemed half asleep, he tried to get them to focus.
"This- hey. This is my number. You call me if any guy comes around to bother you again...I'll fucking kill them for you."
He snapped, before putting the phone into his own pocket before it slid into the gutter. Then he, as gently as he could, grabbed their arm.
"Now let's get you up."
he muttered, tugging them to their feet.
