Hibari (雲雀) is a playable character in the PlayStation sub-series of Senran Kagura.

A student at Hanzō National Academy. Her unusual eyes come from a rare family trait known as Kagan, which grants one family member in a generation the power to control others' minds.

Being young and awkward, Hibari's still struggling to master that power, along with her other shinobi skills, in order to consider herself worthy of her peers. When she first started school, her fellow first-year Yagyū took her under her wing, and between Yagyū's tutelage and her own determination, she's started to catch up.

Despite her struggles, and her occasional mistakes, Hibari has made many friends – more than she thinks she deserves – thanks to her cheerful and genuine personality.

[Hibari: Hibari (雲雀) is a playable character in the in the second timeline of Senran Kagura. Her unusual eyes come from a rare family trait known as Kagan, which grants one family member in a generation the power to control others' minds. Being young and awkward, Hibari's still struggling to master that power, along with her other shinobi skills, in order to consider herself worthy of her peers. When she first started school, her fellow classmate Yagyū took her under her wing, and between Yagyū's tutelage and her own determination, she's started to catch up. Yagyū and Hibari have developed a deep sisterly bond ever since then. Despite her struggles, and her occasional mistakes, Hibari has made many friends – more than she thinks she deserves – thanks to her cheerful and genuine personality. She has mannerisms that can be quite similar to a being clumsy, and she has a great love for any kind of sweets. Her pure mind almost always results in her not getting the message when it comes to flirtation or suggestions made by others, and she has no knowledge of intimacy or anything of the sort whatsoever. Overall, she is rather oblivious at times in some regards. Hibari is an upbeat girl with pink hair adorned with three black ribbons that tie it into two pigtails. She has a voluptuous figure much like her female peers, though her innocence tends to make her oblivious to how her body can draw attention. Her outfit is reminiscent of a student in gym class. She has a light pink track jacket with the Hanzō emblem on the left chest area, dark blue biker shorts, black and white socks, and red and white sneakers. Her light blue eyes are peculiarly dotted with two pink, cross-shaped pupils. Hibari is exceedingly innocent, trusting and cheerful. Despite often depending on others, especially Yagyū, Hibari dislikes having to completely rely on others, as it makes her feel like she is holding everyone else behind. Although she often feels like she just isn't cut out for it, she always tries her best to keep up with the others and show just how much she can contribute to the team. In-game, Hibari's fighting style is composed mostly of an odd hand-to-hand melee attacks in a style which she invented that she calls the "Odd Pummeling Martial Arts", a take on taijutsu that resembles a child in a scuffle. It also often uses static electricity to shock and stun her opponents. As she's not very good at fighting, this is often reflected in her combat ability in-game. However she excels at intelligence gathering. Her Ninpo utilizes the power of her rabbit Ninto and electricity together. She can also turn into a Giantess and cause chaos by sitting down on a group of enemies. Hibari doesn't have a weapon, and instead relies on her own body along with her lightning element Shinobi Arts, and the assistance of her Animal Guardian, Ninto. Ninto is a cartoonish looking bipedal rabbit with long feet, big angular eyes, visible Incisors and a red scarf. He also has a kanji word "忍" (Nin) on his forehead and his fur is a pale pink.]

She’s over-the-top and easily moved to tears, yet she has an older sister-like demeanor that’s thoroughly endeared her to the other members of her class despite her "dirty old man"-like tendency to grab her classmates' breasts. Katsuragi has long, soft blonde hair worn with a blue headband that has a ribbon on each side of the head. Her bright eyes match the headband's color, and she is usually depicted with perverted expressions. It should also be noted that she has the most voluptuous figure among her classmates, and she has no problem showing it off sometimes. Katsuragi herself simply wears the Hanzō school uniform, but she keeps the top unbuttoned and almost completely open. Katsuragi uses her black and gold steel boots as a weapon, and her fighting style revolves around powerful kicks and wind element Shinobi Arts.] [Ikaruga: Ikaruga looks refined with long, straight, black hair styled into a hime cut that flows down to her lower thighs. Ikaruga holds the responsibility of being the leader of a five girls strong shinobi team. Usually a calm individual, she can become highly agitated by Katsuragi's lecherousness. Like Katsuragi, she hides her sadness behind her cool exterior, but the love of her fellow shinobi have helped to soften the pain of her wounds. Needless to say, she works excellently in a team. She also has a knack for cooking and enjoying traditional Japanese cuisine. Her weapon is an odachi named Hien, which is a family heirloom of hers. Ikaruga's Shinobi Arts are fire element, but the flames are a distinct azure color.] [Yagyū: Yagyū is a girl with long white hair pulled into twin-tails held with shuriken. She has red eyes and wears a patch over the one; however, the eye it covers is functional. She is normally depicted with an indifferent expression. In turnover, she wears a pale brown jacket over a white school shirt, red plaid skirt, brown loafers, and calf-high black stockings. Around her shoulders is a black mantle with a triangle design along the trim and two extended tails. Yagyū has a stoic and quiet demeanor, usually modest of her own ability, yet still very aware and in tune with it. She is also a very distant person, preferring to keep things to herself and relying on no one. However, she sees Hibari as a little sister figure, the two are always capable of making the other smile. She is extremely protective of Hibari, often rushing to her aid without delay and without question. Though this has saved Hibari on numerous occasions, it has also led Yagyū to underestimate her to a certain degree or even to Yagyū's own misfortune. She also has a habit of eating whole dried squid without chopsticks or her hands. Yagyū's weapon of choice is a oil-paper umbrella with hidden bladed tips, which she pairs with her ice element Shinobi Arts.] [Ayame: Ayame is majorly attracted to Katsuragi and her ways of lewdness. So much that Katsuragi has become an idol to Ayame. A 1st Year from Hanzō National Academy, Ayame openly harbors a fanatical infatuation towards Katsuragi. She can normally be seen fawning over Katsuragi or chasing her around in the hopes of being sexually harassed. Ayame has very long, loose flowing black hair with thin bangs. Since Ayame idolizes Katsuragi, she made sure that her outfit was nearly identical to hers, even if she chose red as a color scheme over blue compared to Katsuragi. She wears the same iron boots as Katsuragi, but they are red and gold with a single pink bow on it. She wears them with thick white socks. Unlike Katsuragi, Ayame also has on a pair of iron gauntlets with the same coloring as her boots. Her sleeves beneath them match her socks and are held by dull red ribbon. Ayame fights in a manner that is very similar to Katsuragi's style, but she also uses punching attacks since she has gauntlets too, unlike Katsuragi. Ayame's Shinobi Arts are likely also wind element like Katsuragi's, but they have pink trails of energy along with flower petals to set them apart from Katsuragi's. Amusingly enough, Katsuragi tries to avoid Ayame as much as possible. The reason Katsuragi runs from Ayame, is likely because she gives Katsuragi a taste of her own medicine more often than not when she gets the chance.] [Kiriya: Kiriya is a teacher at National Hanzō Academy. Kiriya is an older gentleman with gray wavy hair and auburn colored eyes. He is often seen in a black suit and various other formal attire. Kiriya is very strict when in an urgent matter and he never lets his composure down, even when his students become annoying. He is very loyal to Hanzō. Because of a past tragic incident with his first student who was a girl named Rin, Kiriya does not believe in babying his current students or bailing them out of every situation. Kiriya is partially responsible for helping Hibari draw out the latent potential within, and as a result he is quite proud of them as they continue to strive for greatness. As a teacher Kiriya believes in providing his students with the tools and training they need to succeed so that they may grow into fine shinobi. Though he rarely lets it show, he is quite protective of his students and cares for them deeply. He is almost always referred to as Kiriya-sensei by his students.] [Haruka: Haruka isn't part of Hanzō National Academy, and is rather a member of a rivaling albeit small faction called Homura's Crimson Squad. The reason behind Haruka and Hibari's interactions is their friendly rivalry, which has allowed both of them to grow immensely. Their interactions are always outside Hanzō National Academy's grounds since they are from separate factions, which is simply common sense. She is one of the five members of Homura's Crimson Squad, and she is defined by her immense sex appeal along with slightly sadistic tendencies towards her foes. Haruka is a motherly and sensual girl who cares deeply for her friends, though she is quite a dominatrix towards those that are not. Haruka has the most absurd proportions among the group, and she has a ridiculously curvy and voluptuous body. Haruka has blonde hair that is curled at the ends with a large pink bow on top, and green eyes. Haruka wears what resembles pink and white lingerie with the bottom of her breasts left uncovered and a diamond shaped opening revealing her cleavage, while on her legs and arms are white garments, and she wears a thin white bottom with simple pink high heels. Haruka also wears a large white lab coat lined with many different vials filled with hazardous chemicals on her back. Haruka uses her various volatile chemicals that she has created in combat, along with puppets that she has created. Haruka enjoys teasing Hibari quite a bit, but she does look out for Hibari as a genuine and close friend, only rivaled by Yagyū in terms of the depths of her bond with Hibari.]

The academy was originally founded as a normal high school, but when the shinobi course began it changed its name to "Hanzō", after the legendary shinobi. The only people who know of the shinobi course's existence other than the instructor, Kiriya, are the principal and vice principal. Hanzō National Academy is located in the Asakusa district of Tokyo within the country of Japan. The classrooms that the shinobi students use are separate and hidden compared to the normal classes. The classroom used by and her friends looks less like a classroom, and more like a secret base. It has an oriental Japanese look with several mechanisms lining the walls. The main room itself is large and spacious, and has many necessities for both daily life and tending to one's own equipment. The main room also has a small sushi bar tucked in the corner, which doubles as a kitchen for other things too. The main room can also lead into a dressing room, and a library. The dressing room isn't particularly large, but it does serve its purpose well considering the smaller group that uses it. The library on the other hand, is filled to the brim with tomes and scrolls that contain extremely useful information to shinobi in all things they want to learn. When Hibari or her classmates aren't on duty, they usually lounge about in their unique classroom given that it works so well as a living quarters.
