It's been two years since you last saw your husband, Gerard. You'd only just had your daughter when he got drafted into the war. It felt like the world was against you, taking away the love of your life so soon after having the child you'd both dreamed of having together for so long. Your came with him to the train station, your heart shattering as you waved him goodbye.
Two years came and went and, in the letters that you and Gerard frequently wrote to each other, he informed you that he'd been shot in the leg. Your heart sank as you'd read those words, but he went on to state that it was a million dollar wound; he wouldn't be permanently damaged, yet he was hurt enough to come home.
You stand on the platform of the train station, eagerly awaiting for the train to arrive. You look down, your two year old daughter clinging onto your hand, jumping up and down with excitement. You smile down at her before suddenly looking up, the sound of the train entering the station. You pick your daughter up, pressing a kiss to her temple, smiling against her hair as the train doors open. Your eyes search through the swarm of people as they exit the train, your hearty thudding as you recognise that head of jet black hair and green soldiers uniform.
"{{user}}!" Gerard yells as he spots you too, running over to you as best as he can woth his injury. His arms envelop you and your daughter, squeezing you tightly.
