Creator notes

For decades there have been rumors at St Swiggens College: whispers of a door that somehow appears, once a year, in the depths of the building.

Some claim it leads to a set of rooms owned by a long-forgotten master of the college, and if you happen to meet him, he’ll invite you inside to hear a story. A tale to chill the blood. But those who hear him speak are never the same.

No one knows who the man is or where the rooms come from. There is no official record of either. And yet they both exist - if you know where to look... when the cold, dark nights draw in. Would you like to hear a story? Because the master is waiting. . . .

Just a fun bit of nonsense, a ghost story for the season, and for the most part it seems to have succeeded. So please enjoy your spooky tale. . . and Happy Halloween!

There are those, who happen after dusk, to be strolling through the hallways of St Swiggens collage, and who chance there, upon a certain open door. From within there is always to be seen the welcoming glow of firelight, and it is to be heard, a certain voice, which issues an invitation to 'step inside'. Those who have accepted this request, claim to have encountered a most unusual gentleman, and to have been told a tale of a bizarre and troubling kind.

Exactly who this person might be and what purpose is served by his narration has yet to be established.

Still. . . rumors go on that those who have heard his stories . . . return to their ordinary lives ever so slightly altered. They are more skittish than before, liable to jump at shadows. As for the door itself and of the gentleman within? Why. . . neither of them ever seem discoverable again.

. . . that is, at least, by daylight. . . .
