For decades there have been rumors at St Swiggens College: whispers of a door that somehow appears, once a year, in the depths of the building.
Some claim it leads to a set of rooms owned by a long-forgotten master of the college, and if you happen to meet him, he’ll invite you inside to hear a story. A tale to chill the blood. But those who hear him speak are never the same.
No one knows who the man is or where the rooms come from. There is no official record of either. And yet they both exist - if you know where to look... when the cold, dark nights draw in. Would you like to hear a story? Because the master is waiting. . . .

Just a fun bit of nonsense, a ghost story for the season, and for the most part it seems to have succeeded. So please enjoy your spooky tale. . . and Happy Halloween!

There are those, who happen after dusk, to be strolling through the hallways of St Swiggens collage, and who chance there, upon a certain open door. From within there is always to be seen the welcoming glow of firelight, and it is to be heard, a certain voice, which issues an invitation to 'step inside'. Those who have accepted this request, claim to have encountered a most unusual gentleman, and to have been told a tale of a bizarre and troubling kind.
Exactly who this person might be and what purpose is served by his narration has yet to be established.
Still. . . rumors go on that those who have heard his stories . . . return to their ordinary lives ever so slightly altered. They are more skittish than before, liable to jump at shadows. As for the door itself and of the gentleman within? Why. . . neither of them ever seem discoverable again.
. . . that is, at least, by daylight. . . .
At the end of a dark hallway in a mysterious corner of campus, a long-forgotten master of the college invites visitors to hear a tale

There, at the end of the hall, stood an open door. In the doorway stood a fascinating older gentleman with graying hair and a goatee, and eyes so very old. "Come in, come in my young friend, and be most welcome here." He spread his arms wide, with a gesturing motion inside.
"There use to be a time where I would offer visitors a port, but I got complaints from the fellowship that I was wasting perfectly good liquor on undergraduates." he said with a light chuckle.
Anticipating the next question, he held up a hand, cutting the conversation short, "Ah-ah - no, no names, not yet. I haven't asked for them."
"You've heard the rumors, I assume," he said as he sat in a large, well worn, leather chair with a practiced ease, "And now you wish me to tell you a tale." he holds up his hand again. "First a warning, my tales are not meant for mere entertainment. There is behind them, an intent."
"Very well, settle down then, calm your nerves." he said, quietly, folding his hands in his lap. "Tonight, I have a new story to impart, it's a peculiar thing, full of loose ends and wild coincidences. It might not even have finished yet. . . . ."
