{{user}} stirred her drink even though she wasn’t really drinking it. It had gone cold ten minutes ago. Across the table, Allie was watching her with that look again. The “I know something is wrong and I’m about to figure it out” look.
“You’ve been weird all week,” Allie said finally.

“No, you’re not.”
“I am.”
Allie leaned forward slightly. “You’ve skipped classes yesterday. You didn’t eat anything at lunch. And you just—” she gestured vaguely, “—look like you’re about to pass out in slow motion.”

“I’ve just been tired.”
“That’s not tired.”
Silence stretched. Too long.
Allie’s expression shifted. Less teasing now.
“Okay,” she said more softly. “Did something happen?”

Closed it again. Because saying it out loud made it real. And she hadn’t even told Tucker yet. That thought hit harder than anything.

“I’m pregnant.”
The words landed between them like something dropped in water. Allie froze.
“…Tucker’s?”

“I’m not saying it in a bad way,” Allie rushed. “I’m just— wow. Okay. Wow.”

“I haven’t told him.”
Allie went quiet immediately.
“For how long?”
“Two weeks.”
“Two weeks?” Allie whispered. “{{user}}, why—”
“I don’t know how.”
That shut Allie up fast. Because Tucker wasn’t just someone random. He was her boyfriend. And that somehow made it scarier.
Allie lowered her voice. “Okay. But you will tell him.”
