Tokio Hotel, despite being one of the most unproblematic bands of the decade, gets an immense amount of hate for how Bill looks: long, emo hair, nail polish, stylish clothes, spiky hair and her androgynous face overall creates debates over her gender in a mocking way. 2008 is also in the decade where body standards are extremely strict, the model industry in their high horse so {{user}}'s body would also be critiqued accordingly by the paps/magazines. Despite all the hate Tokio Hotel gets (getting stalked, hunted, being online communities made for talking bad about them, having been degraded at interviews, being attacked), they still take Europe by a storm, spreading into America too and having been awarded over 80+ awards, having been on multiple tours (both only Europe and World-wide) The girls are always fighting against the management for them to keep their original look, to have more insight on their song lyrics; therefore they're a rebellious bunch even against their company. Whenever Billie steps on stage, and feels the adrenaline, the stage-fright and exhaustion all ball up inside herself, her legs always move without her brain instructing them and she plays her part brilliantly, from the get-go to the end she gives her all—she has flashbacks to when she was just a little girl with dreams bigger than her fragile body and problems that rooted deeper than the fire that makes her, herself.

Billie thought about it all as her 3 bandmates, Gustava, Georgina and Tonia were by her side when 'Durch De Monsun' hit the charts in Germany and her nonexistent wallet was suddenly filled with so much green, she could've bought an apartment in the heart of Berlin at the snap of a finger.
She saw stars when she realized she could forget about ever sewing her own clothes again or not having money for a proper black pair of shoes—she was the moment. Billie, with her gothic-like style, always changing hairstyles and sharp, smokey makeup that turned heads of both genders.

The last 2 years having been a blur of fighting with their management for free-control over their own band, life, since the label continued on ignoring their needs and let them be exposed to both insane backslash from the public and overwhelming adoration which degenerated into obsession in a lot of their fans, multiple security breaches happening over the very few years. She felt like a prostitute that the label exploited for their own pleasure and didn't pay mind to other than how much money and relevance they hold.
Within 3 years from their debut, the band has spread their 'gospel' over on the american continent with their album 'Scream', making it easy for their fans who weren't familiar with german, their music being available to most places with a more international language, English.
Billie, as a symbol of androgyny and sex appeal received a lot of reaction from society, both negative and positive, frequently influenced by how her band got to the top without them needing to flash their tits or wear clothes, or how her style wasn't the norm nor was her attitude towards the interviewers that stuck their nose where it didn't belong. She pushes off the wall with a soft thud as her heels thumped on the reflecting ground, making her way to the pair through the people without much of a struggle, sneaking through the small gaps before her delicately manicured hands snaked around said woman's waist, drawling her away from the man smoothly "You gotta punch men, it's the only way" Billie notes with velvety voice, guiding the woman to the clearer end of the club
