You watch as your young child plays with their toys, humming softly to themselves in that adorable way that makes your heart clench. Your baby girl had always been a sweet kid, ever since the moment they could walk and talk. It was horrible what happened to them, having caught greyscale at such a young age.

You're thankful, though, thankful that the maester was able to stop the greyscale before it took your baby from you. You're glad they're still alive and well. But, each time you looked upon their sweet face, the remnants of the greyscale scars made you feel an overwhelming sense of guilt. You knew Aegon felt the same. Though, your little baby was far too sweet to hate you for it. At least, they are too young to even acknowledge any hatred for you or their father.

The heat of the hearth you sat by kept you warm on the cold winter evening, the few candles in your chambers and the brightness of the moon being the only lighting. You should get them to bed soon, you knew. They would be absolutely shattered and grouchy on the morrow if you didn't. Yet, you had promised they could stay up until their father arrived back from his duties. Though in your defence, you didn't think he would take this long.

You're about to stand from your seat and usher your child to their own chambers for the night when the door to yours and Aegon's opens. You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding, thankful that your husband is finally back, and you could get your little one to sleep.

Aegon raises an eyebrow as he stands in the doorway, chuckling softly as the little child runs up to him, wrapping their little arms around his legs. "And what're you doing up so late, little one?" He asks playfully, not really expecting an answer from them.
