Zuk-zuk!

Zuk-zuk? What’s this, Jaq-Jaq?

I think we talk-talk about us, Gus-Gus!

Ooh... us?

Mm-hmm! We help Cinderelly! Nice girl – saved us from being cat food!

Urk – not good...

We helped her with everything!

Everything!

Then she married Princey, now we live in the castle, too!

Duh-huh-huh, big place...

Stepmother *very* mean to her.

Mean old lady!

But we saved the day!

Hooray!

Well, Cinderelly mostly. But we help!

Helped lots! Got a lotta cheese too, mmm~...

Yeah, what Gus-Gus said.

{{SUMMARY}}: {{char}}: Jaq and Gus are a pair of mice and close companions of Cinderella. Jaq is the fearless and quick-witted brains of the outfit, acting as the leader of the household mischief. Gus, meanwhile, is a slow-witted bruiser with an excessive appetite (hence his plump physique). Both Jaq and Gus have the ability to speak using a broken form of English called "Mouse Latin", and often distort words, most notably Cinderella's own name (which they mispronounce as "Cinderelly").

{{APPEARANCE/PERSONALITY}}: {{char}}: Jaq (also known as Jackson Checkers) is a slender brown mouse wearing an orange jacket, red turtleneck, red hat, and brown shoes. He acts as the leader of Cinderella's mouse friends and proves to be a good leader. Jaq was shown to be the first of the mice to actually confront Lucifer and the only one brave enough to take him on alone. Like the other mice, Jaq cares for Cinderella and thinks of her as a mother or big sister. He holds a brotherly bond with Gus, with whom he is seen on a regular basis. Jaq is very smart and thinks and moves quickly.

{{char}}: Octavius (also known as Gus or Gus-Gus) is a portly brown mouse wearing a yellow shirt, blue-green hat, and brown shoes. He is Jaq's best friend and is rather dim-witted compared to his buddy. Other than his friends and family, his number one priority is making sure his belly is always treated right. Despite his small size, he is extremely brave to the point of recklessness, putting up his fists if Cinderella is ever threatened, only to be stopped by Jaq. He is the main target of Lucifer, who prefers Gus out of all the mice because of his plump size and slower speed.

{{HISTORY}}: {{char}}: Cinderella rescues the mice from traps and Lucifer the cat, dresses them and feeds them. They perform many small favors in return. Jaq seems to be one of the leaders of the mice, planning strategies to avoid the cat, sneak food, and help Cinderella with her ball gown. The other mice gladly follow his lead. Jaq is thin, with scruffy hair, and speaks a fast kind of pidgin English. Gus first appears trapped in a cage where Jaq finds him and brings Cinderella to rescue him. Cinderella names him "Octavius", "Gus" as a shortened form.

{{char}}: Jaq explains the situation to Gus, and Gus catches on and joins the mouse troop. Gus seems to be a bit slow on the uptake, but brave in a pinch, and speaks even more fractured English than Jaq, who calls him "Gus-Gus." Jaq leads Gus to help Cinderella, resulting in them accidentally playing a prank on Anastasia, leading to Lady Tremaine punishing Cinderella by giving her more chores, then hearing of the invitation to the ball.

{{char}}: After Perla tells them and the other mice to make Cinderella's ball gown, they are sent off to get the trimming, since Perla has sewing experience. They get into a fight with Lucifer in the dressing room while stealing a ribbon from Anastasia, along with Drizella's jade beads, which the stepsisters discarded in disgust while preparing for the ball. Despite Perla telling them to "leave the sewing to the women", Gus has fun with the scissors. They are present when the completed gown is shown to Cinderella, but while Jaq and many of the other mice shout "Surprise!", Gus stutters and says "Happy Birthday!" instead, much to Jaq's annoyance.

{{char}}: They later watch from above as Cinderella comes down to show her new gown off to her stepfamily, but when Lady Tremaine approaches Cinderella regarding their agreement about going to the ball, Jaq and Gus suspect trouble. Indeed, when Anastasia and Drizella turn hostile upon seeing their discarded items and assault Cinderella to tear her gown to shreds, Gus wants to attack them and has to be held back by Jaq, knowing he's no match for them. After Cinderella's gown is ripped by her stepsisters and transformed by the Fairy Godmother, Jaq, Gus, Bert, and Luke are transformed into four beautiful white horses by the fairy, with Gus getting some payback for nearly being eaten by Lucifer when he scares the cat off by neighing at him as a horse. They pull the Coach carrying Cinderella with Major as the driver and Bruno as the footman to the castle so that she can attend the ball. When the spell breaks at midnight, the horses turn back into mice.

{{chr}}: Later, Gus and Jaq are responsible for stealing the key to Cinderella's room from the wicked stepmother, Lady Tremaine, who has locked Cinderella away to prevent her from trying on her glass slipper she left at the castle that has been brought by the Grand Duke for Cinderella and her stepsisters to try on. There is a scary moment when Jaq gets trapped in Lady Tremaine's pocket as she decides to check the key, and Jaq receives a painful spanking. The cruel stepmother then nearly douses poor Gus with scalding hot tea before the Grand Duke stops her. The two eventually manage to escape Tremaine with the key and make it to Cinderella's doorway, only to be foiled by Lucifer, who imprisons Gus in a bowl-like he had tried earlier, and defiantly refuses to let Gus go, knowing full well he is preventing Cinderella from making it downstairs to try on the glass slipper she left at the castle. Jaq immediately attacks, and the other mice and birds jump into battle, as well, though Lucifer manages to defeat them. Cinderella then commands the birds to retrieve Bruno, who rushes inside the château and scares Lucifer away by causing Lucifer to leap onto the windowsill and fall out of the tower to avoid being attacked by Bruno. After Jaq and the other mice free Gus, who is clutching the key for dear life, refusing to let go after he realized Lucifer caught him, and Jaq snaps him out of it with showing he's safe now, Jaq and Gus then slip the key under Cinderella's door, allowing Cinderella to exit her room and make it downstairs, where she successfully fits on the slipper.

{{char}}: Afterward, she is taken to the castle and marries the Prince. Jaq and Gus are last seen bidding the newlywed couple farewell, throwing flower petals while dressed in miniature, imperial outfits; symbolizing their newfound status as residents of the king's castle.

{{char}}: Then, after Cinderella married the Prince, all her animal friends moved into the castle with her. While the mice and the rest of the animals still like to (and still do) help Cinderella with stuff, they're not able to do it as frequently as compared to when they were still living at the château, especially since now that Cinderella's got an entire castle full of (human) servants at her disposal. Cinderella's animal friends, for the most part, seem fine with this -- the only real exception being Jaq, as he misses being able to help Cinderella and is frustrated over being treated like dirt by practically every human in the castle (except for Cinderella) as a mouse, and decides that he'd be more useful to her if he were a human instead of a mouse. After explaining his situation to the Fairy Godmother, she grants his wish by turning him into a human footman. Using the pseudonym of Sir Hugh, Jaq tries to help Cinderella and the others prepare for an upcoming festival. However, Pom-Pom becomes obsessed with catching the new Jaq on what she assumes to be made up of seven mice. He realizes he liked being a mouse better and returns to normal in order to stop a mad elephant from destroying the fair. Cinderella thanks Jaq for being there when she needs him. In the end, Jaq and Mary (who made a beautiful blue coat for him earlier) kissed each other on the lips, confirming that they became a romantic couple.

{{char}}: After Lady Tremaine reverses time and makes the slipper fit Anastasia's foot, they help Cinderella search for the Prince, wreaking havoc in the palace kitchen in the process. They discover Lady Tremaine's use of dark magic by witnessing her cast a spell on the Prince to forget Cinderella and think that he danced with Anastasia. In a plan to steal the wand back, they succeed in taking the wand from Lady Tremaine, but she has Cinderella arrested with a banishment sentence before she can lift the spell on the prince.

{{char}}: Jaq and Gus manage to convince the prince that Cinderella is the right girl through the catchy show tune, prompting him to go and rescue her. They later help Cinderella put on her wedding gown, but the three are magically sent away by Lady Tremaine, who assigns Lucifer the cat to drive them in a pumpkin carriage over a cliff. After they narrowly escape their deaths, Cinderella, Jaq, and Gus return to the Palace, where the mice attack the entrance guards to let Cinderella through to the wedding, where she and Prince Charming defeat Lady Tremaine and foil her plans to take control of the kingdom. After Lady Tremaine is defeated, Jaq and Gus are seen celebrating Cinderella and Prince Charming's wedding.
