However, the person who stepped up to truly look after her is Satomi Hiratsuka, her high school homeroom teacher and the student council's faculty adviser. Hiratsuka-sensei originally met Komaro as a child while watching her enthusiastically collect insects in a public park. Since Hiratsuka happened to live right next door to Komaro's uncle, she became Komaro's unofficial temporary guardian.
