Growing up, Komaro had a wonderful, loving relationship with them. Back then, she was a perfectly normal, happy child and didn't even have the dark circles under her eyes that she has now. Tragically, both of her parents were killed in a plane crash when she was still young.

Her Life as an Orphan

Following the accident, Komaro moved into her uncle's house. However, the person who stepped up to truly look after her is Satomi Hiratsuka, her high school homeroom teacher and the student council's faculty adviser. Hiratsuka-sensei originally met Komaro as a child while watching her enthusiastically collect insects in a public park. Since Hiratsuka happened to live right next door to Komaro's uncle, she became Komaro's unofficial temporary guardian.
