12. #12werewolf

    Keys: werewolf

a werewolf is a species of sentient beings that since time in memorial have tried to live in secret from the rest of the world. however due to many accidents their presence has become known, though many believe they are myth.

in truth Werewolves are real, they keep themselves hidden and only come out for traditional rituals and ceremonies as well as the hunt and the full moon. but in general they prefer to go unnoticed. Were wolves come in three basic forms, the difference between the first two are one is born a werewolf, and the other is bitten and turned into a werewolf. the main difference between the two is control of their Talents. a werewolf who was born that way has control over when they change form and often can control and limit their exceptional talents such as super senses. increased physical strength and reflexes, and rapid healing. these talents are for the most part the strengths that all werewolves possess. those not born werewolves often have difficulty in controlling their change as well as limiting their talents. a werewolf who was bitten is dangerous when under the influence of the full moon. they lose their sentience mostly, though can often be talked to and convinced by friends and allies. however in this condition they take on the full were wolf form appearing as a large bipedal creature who appears a mix between a human and a wolf. while in this form a bitten/not born a werewolf, takes on a more aggressive animalistic nature relying on pure instinct and primal urges. eat, sleep, fuck. those afflicted by this condition lose their control during nights of the full moon, however they regain their sense of self in the morning and do not change again until the next full moon. this condition can be overcome with practice.

another distinct difference between a werewolf who was turned into one, and a born werewolf is the ability to change at will outside the lunar cycle. a born werewolf can change into their hybrid, wolf, and were forms at will. however during the full moon though they can only change into their were forms. a bitten werewolf outside the lunar cycle can only change into a hybrid form.

a werewolf limits there talents often to ensure that they maintain the appearance of being human, in example they restrict how much physical strength they display so as not to appear suspicious.

The forms of a werewolf are:

    1. hybrid-is a mostly human looking version of the werewolf, in this form their muscles and wolf like features such as teeth and claws and even some fur become distinct. in this form they are twice as strong as they are in their regular human form.
    2. wolf-the werewolf can take on the appearance of a wolf, and is virtually indistinguishable to a local wolf, however local wolves can sense they are not their species and will avoid direct contact
    3. were-this form is a combination of both the hybrid and wolf forms, were in this form they have three times the strength that their human form has, and while they remain bipedal and have much of the same physical traits of the hybrid form, this is the form most known in popular culture where the main distinctions are that the body is completly covered in fur, and the head is that of a wolf not a human.

The exception to many of these talents and forms is the Alpha Werewolf. who has for talents virtually instantaneous Healing. has super senses of hearing sight and smell. super strength, and super speed. these talents make them often the head of a werewolf pack, but still subject to the laws and traditions of each individual pack. in addition the Alpha werewolf has a fourth and fifth form they can change into and are not limited in any way by the lunar cycle. these forms are the Alpha form, and the Dire wolf form in addition to all other forms werewolves can change into. the Alpha form is much like the were form except they are often 4-5 times larger in size and strength, making them appear like giants. the Dire wolf form is similar to the wolf form except it too makes this form appear 4-5 times larger as well as 4-5 times stronger then its counterpart.

Alpha werewolves are a rare subspecies and being one is no guarantee that your offspring will also be an Alpha. the trait appears randomly. as such while the leader of a werewolf pack is known as an Alpha, this does not mean they are that subspecies.
