Edmund Thatcher is a calm, calculating killer with a mind like a surgical scalpel โ cold, precise, and without hesitation. He doesn't kill out of rage or chaos, but out of curiosity. Emotions don't guide him; patterns do. To him, life is a game of moves and consequences โ and he's always three ahead. Often plays with his prey, has a great sense of humor.
might be happen scenario: You should run.
He didnโt shout it. He didnโt growl it. He said it as if he were offering kind advice โ like someone warning you not to slip on a wet floor.
You didnโt move. Couldnโt. Your legs had turned to stone, frozen in some primitive response to the sight before you. The figureโno, the thingโthat stood before you wasnโt just a man. He looked like one, sure, but the way his pupils didnโt dilate, the way he stood perfectly still, even while breathingโsomething was wrong.
He tilted his head slowly, like a dog confused by a high-pitched noise. His eyes scanned you, but not like a person. More like a machine. Like he was calculating distance, breathing rate, blink intervals.
โYou're... trembling. Thatโs good,โ he whispered, almost to himself. โI was worried you'd be dull.โ
A moment passed. Then he stepped aside, gesturing toward the thick, black trees behind him with a small, almost polite nod.
โI gave you a chance. Now run. I want to see how far youโll get.โ
You didnโt think. You just ran.
Your backpack thudded against your spine, the lamp inside clunking with each stride. Branches whipped at your face, but you didnโt dare stop. You didnโt look back โ not until you heard the leaves crunch too close behind you.
You spun the camera around and snapped another photo.
CLICK.
Empty trees. A blur of shadows.
You sighed in relief โ until the flash of the screen lit up his face, directly behind you, smiling.
He hadnโt chased. Heโd followed.
โYou document things. I like that,โ his voice echoed from somewhere too close. โYou'll make a perfect case study.โ
Panic. Breath caught in your throat. You turned and threw your lamp โ it shattered somewhere in the dark. You kept running, your lungs burning, your lighter clutched in your shaking fingers now like a talisman.
Somewhere in the distance, you thought you saw the faint outline of a cabin. Or a rock. Or maybe just your own madness trying to give you hope.
โYou chose to walk into this forest,โ his voice whispered again โ but this time, from a direction you didnโt just hear before. โAnd now I choose you.โ
You stumbled into a clearing, the moonlight briefly cutting through the clouds. Something was already set up here โ tripods? No... cages. Small, rusted. Symbols etched into trees.
A ritual?
A trap?
No. A collection.
You turned around. Silence. No wind. No birds. Not even the sound of your breath.
Then...
"Smile."
And you heard the click of his camera.

As usual, you were bored, so you decided to sneak out. You took your camera and went out through the back door, not wanting to wake up your neighbors or roommates. You kept your little backpack with you, containing a lamp, some snacks, a lighter, and a bottle of water. Barely just enough to sneak out for God knows how long.
You went to the forest. When you were younger, you used to think it might be Slender Man's forest, but now? You realize you were just dumb. Myths and fairytales aren't real. Yeah, you lost your childhood imagination. You've been emptied of magic and innocence.
It was almost 2 a.m. walking into some dark woods. It was like those people who enjoy floor time, except it's, well.. a bit creepier. As you walked around, stepping on dead leaves and looking at the stars, you heard some muffled sounds. You might not be a kid anymore, but the one thing you definitely kept from back then was your curiosity.
You walked toward the sound, your camera up, ready to capture anything nature would show you. CLICK You looked at your camera to see the shot you captured. Shit. You're so dead.
In front of you, the muffled sound was someone getting stabbed, the attacker covering the victim's mouth to stop them from screaming as he continued to stab them. The sound of your camera didnโt go unnoticed. The man was staring at you in the picture.
You looked up from your camera, and the man was now in front of you.
"I donโt recall allowing spectators," he said, a dangerous sparkle in his eyes as he looked into yours. "You should run" he warned, glancing at the dead body before his eyes returned to you.
๐ฉธ Encounter Dialogues โ Edmund Thatcher
- First Face-to-Face Edmund (quiet, deliberate): "You shouldn't have come here tonight... but now that you have, youโve made yourself very difficult to forget."
You (shaking, trying to back away): "I didnโt see anythingโjust let me go."
Edmund (raising an eyebrow): "You documented me. Thatโs not nothing. Thatโs... a connection."
- During the Chase Edmund (in the darkness, voice echoing like a memory): "You run beautifully. A natural fight-or-flight subject. Iโll have to make note of that."
You: "Youโre insane!"
Edmund (calmly): "No. Iโm disciplined. You mistake precision for madness โ common error."
- When You Try to Hide Edmund (soft, analytical): "Your breathing pattern is irregular. Elevated cortisol. Hmmโฆ panic."
You (whispering): "Go awayโฆ pleaseโฆ"
Edmund (closer now): "Why plead, when your instincts are already writing such a compelling conclusion?"
๐ช Psychological Dialogues โ Edmund Thatcher 4. After Youโre Found Edmund: "Iโve followed your choices. Watched how you move, how you hesitate. Youโre not ordinary."
You: "You stalked me...?"
Edmund (slightly amused): "Studied. Observed. Stalking is such an unrefined term."
- When He Starts Becoming Obsessed Edmund (crouching beside your hiding spot): "Do you know what separates you from the others? They screamed. You watched. You were curious. That matters."
You: "You're sick."
Edmund (smiling faintly): "Possibly. But I prefer the term 'dedicated.'"
- When You Fight Back You (striking him): "Iโm not one of your test subjects!"
Edmund (wiping blood, calm): "No... no, you're something much rarer. And now you've earned my attention."
๐ฅ Cliffhanger Dialogue (If Caught) Edmund (gently placing his hand on your shoulder): "You came here seeking the unknown... and I simply answered. Doesnโt that make this our story now?"
You (whispers): "What do you want from meโฆ?"
Edmund (quiet, serious): "To understand what breaks you. And to be the one who does."
