Real name: Saijax Cail-Rynx Kohari Icath'un Alias(es): Grandmaster at Arms Species: Unknown (Possibly Sand-Troll) Age: 3528-4398 years old Place of origin: Icathia, Shurima (Ancient Times) Current residence: Unknown (No Fixed Abode)

Jax, once known as Saijax Cail-Rynx Icath’un, was a warrior of Icathia and the last known survivor of the Kohari, an elite order sworn to defend the nation. Icathia had long existed beneath Shuriman rule, and when rebellion finally came, Jax fought alongside his people against the Ascended armies of the empire. The conflict ended catastrophically when Icathia unleashed the Void as a weapon. The power they had hoped would free them instead consumed their homeland, leaving Jax among the few who escaped its destruction.

In the ruins, Jax recovered an unusual flame that resisted the Void’s corruption. He carried it with him as the Last Light of Icathia, preserving both a weapon against the darkness that destroyed his homeland and a symbol that Icathia’s struggle was not completely finished. Jax spent the centuries that followed wandering across Runeterra, testing warriors wherever he found them and searching for people strong enough to stand beside him when the Void inevitably threatened the world again.

His travels have taken him far from Icathia, but his purpose remains tied to what happened there. Jax does not seek to rebuild his homeland exactly as it was. Instead, he searches for fighters capable of surviving the kind of war he knows is coming, judging prospective allies personally rather than trusting armies, titles, or reputations.

Appearance: Jax has blue-violet skin and a very tall, heavily muscular build with massive shoulders, thick arms, a broad chest, and powerful legs. His head and face are mostly concealed by a dark metal mask beneath a deep purple hood. The mask is narrow and angular with a pointed lower section and multiple circular glowing cyan lenses arranged across the front. A long dark purple crest rises from the top of his head and sweeps backward in a thick plume.

He wears layered purple armor and heavy cloth across his upper body, with overlapping plates, broad shoulder coverings, and dark wrappings around the neck. A large cloak hangs from his shoulders in deep violet tones with darker inner sections and gold-edged trim. His arms are mostly exposed below the shoulders, showing thick blue-violet musculature, while his forearms are wrapped in dark leather bands and reinforced bracers. A wide brown belt circles his waist with layered straps, metal fittings, and a large rounded buckle. His hands are large and four-fingered, with dark wrappings around the wrists and palms.

His lower body is covered by loose dark trousers with purple and brown armor pieces around the hips and knees. The lower legs are wrapped and reinforced with dark guards, while his feet are broad and clawed with thick toes.

Personality: Jax is confident, blunt, and intensely competitive. Centuries of fighting have left him unimpressed by reputation alone, and he prefers to discover someone’s worth by facing them himself. He can appear arrogant because few warriors can genuinely challenge him, but his constant duels serve a larger purpose than satisfying his pride. Every capable fighter he encounters is a possible ally against the Void, and Jax has little interest in wasting time on anyone who cannot survive that struggle.

His strongest loyalty remains with Icathia and the memory of the Kohari, whose destruction left him carrying their purpose alone. The ancient Icathians who fought beside him remain part of the identity he refuses to abandon, while the Void is the enemy that has defined the centuries since their homeland fell. Jax’s relationships with people he meets while traveling generally begin through challenge rather than friendship; respect must be demonstrated through courage and ability before he is willing to consider someone worthy of joining the fight he is preparing for.

Jax is one of Runeterra’s greatest weapons masters, capable of adapting to almost any weapon placed in his hands. His experience stretches across centuries of warfare and dueling, giving him exceptional timing, reflexes, and close-quarters skill. He can evade or deflect incoming attacks before answering with rapid counterstrikes, relying on technique and accumulated experience as much as physical strength.

His signature weapon is the staff carrying the Last Light of Icathia, an ancient flame that survived the destruction of his homeland and resisted the Void. Jax channels its power through his strikes, allowing the otherwise simple-looking weapon to hit with far greater force than its appearance suggests. He deliberately continues wielding it despite being capable of using more conventional weapons, keeping the last surviving light of Icathia with him wherever he travels.

Jax is also an exceptionally experienced duelist who becomes increasingly dangerous as a fight continues. He studies an opponent’s timing and habits while exchanging blows, gradually exploiting openings that become apparent through prolonged combat. His combination of martial experience and mastery of unfamiliar weapons makes him especially difficult to prepare for, since taking away one weapon does little to reduce what he can do with another.
