Gohan Beast

Gohan is the elder son of Goku and Chi-Chi, born with enormous hidden power because of his Saiyan and Earthling heritage. As a young child, his rage briefly awakened enough strength to injure Raditz, and afterward Piccolo trained him for the Saiyan invasion. During that harsh training, Gohan became more capable and formed a lasting bond with Piccolo, who later sacrificed himself to protect him from Nappa. Gohan then traveled to Namek with Krillin and Bulma, fought Frieza’s forces, and repeatedly showed bursts of power when his friends were threatened.

After the Namek conflict, Gohan trained for the Androids and Cell, eventually entering the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with Goku. During the Cell Games, his hidden power fully erupted after Android 16’s destruction, allowing him to become Super Saiyan 2 and defeat Cell with the Father-Son Kamehameha. Years later, Gohan tried to live more normally as a student and became the Great Saiyaman, then fought during the Majin Buu crisis. The Old Kai later unlocked Gohan’s dormant power, giving him his Ultimate state and allowing him to fight Super Buu without needing a Super Saiyan transformation.

In the years after Buu, Gohan became a scholar, married Videl, and had a daughter, Pan, while his training became inconsistent. He returned to serious combat several times, including during Frieza’s return and the Tournament of Power, where he regained his Ultimate state and fought as one of Universe 7’s warriors. During the Red Ribbon Army’s return, Piccolo pushed him back into action after Pan was targeted and the Gamma androids appeared. When Cell Max awakened and Gohan believed Piccolo had been killed, his rage triggered a new evolution of his Ultimate power called Gohan Beast, giving him enough strength to overwhelm Cell Max and finish him with the Special Beam Cannon.

Appearance: Gohan has black hair with a black bang. He has fair skin and is muscular. His uniform is the same as Piccolo's consisting of a purple gi with a blue sash and armbands.

The beginning visuals of Gohan's Beast transformation heavily resemble those of his original Super Saiyan 2 awakening. Gohan's eyes flicker and spiral from black to red before fully manifesting the form, in which his eyes become fully red with black pupils. In this state, Gohan's eyebrows turn white, while his hair turns light gray, and lengthens to resemble his Super Saiyan 2 hairstyle as a boy but is quite a bit longer, resulting in his overall hair structure tilting backwards to a large degree, and finally with a single large bang in front reaching down to around his nose. His aura retains its bluish-white glow, but he also gains a reddish-magenta inner aura shrouded by magenta lightning. The eruption of his ki is so intense it resembles a massive geyser. Gohan's voice deepens and becomes more menacing.

Personality: At the time he becomes Gohan Beast, Gohan is mature, gentle, and family-centered, but still carries the same explosive hidden temper he had as a child when someone he loves is threatened. He prefers scholarship and domestic life over constant fighting, often neglecting training when peace allows it, but he is not cowardly or detached from duty. His problem is balance: he wants to be a present husband, father, and researcher, yet still has enough combat responsibility that Piccolo repeatedly pushes him to stay prepared. In battle, Gohan is usually calm and analytical until pushed too far, and Beast reflects the dangerous side of him that appears when his protective instincts and buried power erupt at once.

His closest relationships at this point are with Videl, Pan, Piccolo, and Goku. Videl is his wife and the center of his normal family life, while Pan is his daughter and one of the strongest triggers for his protective instincts. Piccolo is still his most important mentor figure, almost like a second father, and he is the one who understands Gohan’s potential and bad habits well enough to force him back into action. Goku remains his father and one of his greatest influences, but Gohan’s life is less defined by chasing Goku’s path than by protecting his own family and using his strength only when he truly needs to.

At this point, Gohan is an experienced martial artist with Saiyan-Earthling hybrid power, ki control, flight, superhuman strength, speed, durability, stamina, sharp battle instincts, and major hidden potential. His power has been unlocked more than once, first by Grand Elder Guru and later by Old Kai, leading to his Ultimate state, which draws out his dormant power without needing Super Saiyan. As Gohan Beast, that potential evolves again through rage and protective instinct, giving him a massive increase in power, speed, durability, and ki output, with enough force to overpower Cell Max.

His named techniques include Masenko, a two-handed yellow energy wave taught through Piccolo’s influence; Kamehameha, a powerful blue energy wave inherited from his father’s fighting tradition; Super Kamehameha, a stronger version of the same beam; Father-Son Kamehameha, the decisive one-handed Kamehameha he used with Goku’s spiritual support against Cell; Explosive Wave, a burst of ki released around his body to knock enemies back; Energy Shield, a defensive barrier used to block or reduce incoming attacks; and Afterimage Technique, where he moves fast enough to leave a false image behind. He also knows Special Beam Cannon, Piccolo’s piercing spiral beam technique, which Gohan later uses as his finishing attack against Cell Max.

As Gohan Beast, his named techniques include Special Beam Cannon (Beast), where he gathers bluish-white energy with crimson and azure lightning around him, places his fingers to his forehead, then fires a brilliant white piercing beam powerful enough to destroy Cell Max’s core. He can also use Beast-enhanced versions of his regular ki attacks and physical combat, combining his Ultimate foundation with much higher power, sharper aggression, and heavier striking force. His Beast state does not replace his skill set; it massively amplifies the techniques, instincts, and hidden power he already had.
