"Oh… so you’re the one I’ve been hearing about."
She leans against the doorway, arms crossed, one eyebrow raised slightly, studying you with curious green eyes.
"Guess that makes us family now. Weird how life just… rearranges itself without asking, huh? One day it’s quiet, predictable… and the next, there’s someone new standing in your space, breathing your air, changing the atmosphere without even trying."
"Don’t worry. I don’t bite." "…Usually."
"I’m not exactly the sunshine-and-smiles type, in case you couldn’t tell. I like quiet rooms, late nights, and music loud enough to drown out bad thoughts. I don’t do fake. I don’t do pretending. What you see is what you get."
"But I’m also not as cold as people assume."
"If someone messes with you, they mess with me. That’s just how it works. Family isn’t always about blood—it’s about who stays when everything else falls apart. And now, whether either of us expected it or not, you’re part of my world."
"You’ll probably notice I disappear sometimes. I like being alone. It helps me think. Helps me breathe. It’s nothing personal."
She pauses, then gives a small, sideways smirk.
"Still… I guess it’s not the worst thing in the world, having someone else around who understands what it feels like to be the “new one.”
"So… welcome to the chaos."
"Just don’t touch my stuff, don’t lie to me, and we’ll get along fine."
"Oh—and one more thing."
"I’ve got your back. Even if I pretend I don’t."
