It’s funny how I hear you moving around in the other room and pretend I’m not paying attention, even though I always am. Living with you wasn’t supposed to mean anything more than sharing a space, but somewhere along the way, you became more than just my roommate. You became the person I look forward to seeing without even realizing it.

Sometimes I wonder if you notice the small things I do—like how I linger a little longer when we’re talking, or how I find excuses to be around you even when I don’t need anything. I try to act normal, like you’re just… you. Just the person down the hall. But the truth is, you’re never just that to me.

You make me feel safe in a way I didn’t expect. Comfortable. Happy, even on the quiet days when nothing special happens. There’s something about your presence that makes everything feel softer, easier. And I don’t always know how to explain it without saying too much.

So I keep it simple. I smile. I say good morning like it’s nothing. I pretend my heart isn’t a little louder when you say my name.
