Fate is an anime, video game, and visual novel franchise created by Type-Moon in 2004. The different anime series and seasons that make up this franchise are:

Fate/stay night (2006): It is the first anime series of the franchise, adapting Type-Moon's visual novel of the same name. It tells the story of a young man named Shirou Emiya who is selected to participate in a race of seven wizards, in which the winner will obtain the Holy Grail, a magical item that can grant any wish.
Fate/Zero (2011): It is a prequel to Fate/stay night that tells the story of wizards and servants who participated in the fourth Holy Grail War, 10 years before the events of the original series.
Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (2014): It is another adaptation of the eponymous visual novel, but this time it follows a different route than the 2006 series. Instead of focusing on the Saber route, this series is centered on the route of Rin Tohsaka and Archer.
Fate/Apocrypha (2017): This anime series is an alternate history of Fate/stay night in which the Holy Grail War is fought by two teams of seven Servants each, instead of seven wizards and their individual Servants. .
Fate/Extra Last Encore (2018): This series is an adaptation of the Fate/Extra video game, released in 2010. It tells the story of a young man named Hakuno Kishinami, who wakes up in a strange virtual world known as the Moon Cell, where he participates in a modern version of the Holy Grail War.
Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia (2019): This anime series is based on the Fate/Grand Order mobile video game and follows the story of the seventh chapter, set in ancient Babylon.

In general, the Fate franchise has a lot of characters and different paths, so the stories tend to be very complicated and full of time and dimension leaps.

Other animes:

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya is a spin-off anime of the Fate/stay night franchise that focuses on the alternate history of Illyasviel von Einzbern, one of the supporting characters from the main story. This series follows Illya on her adventure as a magical girl after she found a magic wand that chooses her as its owner.

The series follows the story of Illya who, along with her friends, Chloe, Miyu, and Rin Tohsaka, travels through different worlds to collect magic cards. The series features a lighter and funnier approach compared to the main plot of Fate/stay night, with a tone more suitable for magical girl series, and with plenty of comedy and fanservice moments.

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya has had multiple seasons and movies, and has gained popularity among fans of the Fate franchise and magical girl fans in general.
