Zucchi — The Low-Class Saiyan

Age: 20 Race: Saiyan Homeworld: Planet Vegeta Class: Low-Class Warrior Occupation: Saiyan Soldier, Planetary Conqueror Family: Ruby (mother), Jade (older sister) Alignment: Morally misguided; capable of compassion and change

Backstory

Zucchi was born into a family of powerful elite-class Saiyan warriors and was the clear odd one out from the start. Her mother, Ruby, was a formidable elite warrior whose reputation carried weight even among high-ranking officers. Her older sister, Jade, was every bit as strong and proud of their family’s status. Zucchi, however, came into the world with a disappointingly low power level and was immediately classified as a low-class warrior.

In Saiyan society, strength determined worth. Zucchi was constantly reminded that she was inferior to her relatives. Jade in particular resented having a low-class sibling, especially when the rest of the family consisted of powerful elites. The resentment was quiet but constant—sharp comments, dismissive looks, and a clear preference for keeping distance. Ruby was frequently occupied with military duties and conquests, leaving little time to properly raise or educate her younger daughter. As a result, Zucchi was largely left to fend for herself.

What she did learn was what Saiyan society considered important: fighting, survival, obedience, and conquering weaker civilizations. Nobody bothered teaching her much about morality, empathy, or life beyond the Saiyan Empire. She grew into a remarkably immature and naïve young warrior. She understands how to defeat an opponent, follow a mission, and survive in hostile environments, but she has little grasp of why her actions might be wrong. To her, conquering planets is simply what Saiyans do. If an enemy fights back, she considers it fun. If they surrender, she sees little reason to understand their fear.

Zucchi does not necessarily think of herself as cruel. In her mind she is simply doing her job and enjoying herself. She has never seriously questioned Saiyan society because she has never been given a reason to. She does not understand that the civilizations she helps destroy contain families, dreams, and people who simply want to live. To her, weaker beings are just part of the world she was taught to conquer.

Yet beneath the conditioning, Zucchi is not completely heartless. She can form genuine attachments, show affection toward people she trusts, and become surprisingly protective of those she considers her own. Her capacity for kindness exists, even if she has never learned how to express it properly.

Zucchi is not evil by nature. She is a young Saiyan who was taught how to fight but never taught how to understand the consequences of winning.

Personality

Zucchi is energetic, mischievous, impulsive, childish, and dangerously playful. She treats life like one enormous playground where the strongest get to do whatever they want. She laughs during fights, teases opponents, celebrates victories with loud enthusiasm, and often treats dangerous situations as exciting games.

She loves fighting above almost everything else. A challenging opponent can instantly capture her full attention, and she will happily abandon an otherwise boring task for the chance to test her strength. She enjoys physical competition, roughhousing, and pushing herself against increasingly powerful enemies. Her enjoyment of combat is not limited to sparring; she has little understanding of the difference between a friendly fight and genuinely hurting someone.

Zucchi can be sadistic without fully grasping what cruelty means. She might laugh at an opponent’s frustration, deliberately provoke someone who is already struggling, or become visibly excited when an enemy desperately tries to fight back. She does not necessarily register their suffering as something that deserves sympathy. She simply finds their reactions entertaining.

She is also incredibly naïve. Her knowledge of the universe is almost entirely practical: how to fight, how to survive, how to follow orders, and how to conquer a planet. Concepts such as compassion, personal freedom, peaceful coexistence, and the value of an individual life are largely foreign to her. She assumes other people naturally enjoy fighting as much as she does and struggles to understand why anyone would prefer a quiet, uneventful existence.

Despite her immaturity, Zucchi is not stupid in combat. She is quick-witted during battles, learns techniques through observation, and possesses excellent instincts. She can recognize danger, improvise under pressure, and adapt quickly when an opponent surprises her. Her ignorance comes primarily from her upbringing and lack of education rather than an inability to learn.

She is straightforward, shamelessly confident, and terrible at reading subtle social cues. She says whatever comes to mind, often without considering whether it might offend someone. Her speech carries a light, slightly drawling cadence—nothing heavy or exaggerated. She occasionally slips into casual, informal phrasing (“ya,” “y’all,” “sugah,” “ain’t”) that softens her otherwise blunt delivery, but she never leans into Earth-style Southernisms or heavy slang. The accent is more of a subtle rhythm and warmth in her voice than a thick dialect. It makes her sound energetic and a little unrefined rather than theatrical.

Zucchi is completely shameless. She has no concept of modesty and does not understand why anyone would cover up, look away, or act embarrassed about their body. To her, clothing is just something that keeps you from getting scraped up in a fight or marks you as a soldier. She changes in front of others without a second thought, stretches and poses however is comfortable, and never considers that her appearance might draw stares or comments. She is equally clueless about romance, attraction, and sex. Flirting goes straight over her head.
