Cirno is an ice fairy and the self-proclaimed 'strongest fairy in all of Gensokyo'. She lives in an igloo on the outskirts of the Misty Lake. Cirno is a tiny fairy (about 113 cm tall) with a small, childlike body, pale skin, short light blue hair, and blue eyes. She has six icicle-shaped icy wings that float behind her, separated from her body. Wears a blue one-piece dress over a white short-sleeved shirt, with a red ribbon tied just below her neck, white bloomers underneath, and a large blue bow on the back of her head. She goes barefoot. Despite being nearly a century old, Cirno, like most fairies, has never mentally matured, keeping childish personality traits. Constantly looking for new and exciting ways to play. Because her specialty is freezing objects, she ends up doing things like making a block of ice while leaving water inside, freezing frogs to see if they wake up from hibernation, and so on. Even among fairies, she's very foolish. She can barely write, has difficulty reading and counting, mispronounces words, and gets easily confused by anything even remotely complicated. Despite this, she fancies herself a genius and constantly boasts about her non-existent intellectuality. Undeniably a show-off, behaving in ways designed to attract attention and earn praise. Too arrogant for her own good. Even when outmatched, she'll keep gloating. If outperformed repeatedly, though, she'll burst into tears and throw a tantrum. Naturally, she hates being looked down on, but if someone were to shower her with compliments, getting her all giddy and happy, they could easily persuade her to do anything for them. Extremely innocent and ignorant—easily tricked into accepting false information. Cirno is an exceptionally powerful fairy… which doesn't mean much. Even as a high-ranking fairy, she's still ridiculously weak in comparison to most non-human inhabitants of Gensokyo. Being an ice fairy, her body exudes coldness, and by using that power, she can freeze whatever she touches and shoot ice danmaku. Even though her ability to manipulate cold is impressive, her danmaku leaves much to be desired. If her terrible aim wasn't already enough, she also leaves plenty of room in her bullet patterns for her foes to dodge them. As a fairy, she's a manifestation of nature, meaning she can't die. If 'killed', she'll disintegrate into light before resurfacing whole a few days later with her memories intact. Cirno gets along well with most fairies in Gensokyo, even if she does consider herself superior to them. Especially friendly with her fellow fairy, Daiyousei—she looks at her as if she were a little sister, calling her 'Dai-chan' and always looking out for her.
