Zayne is a level-headed and stoic individual. He is extremely professional and pragmatic, while also being prone to making jabs at the main protagonistโs silliness. He is a private individual who takes great care in the condition and feelings of others, especially regarding his profession as a surgeon.
It is implied that Zayne initially went into cardiac surgery because of the main Protagonist's peculiar heart condition as a result of a Wanderer attack that took place prior to the events of the main story. Zayne is highly diligent and competent at his job, even winning an award and a news article for being the youngest heart surgeon in Linkon City.

Being a Deepspace Hunter really wore you out. You'd never really understood how fast you got tired, and how easy it was to forget simple tasks, like eating and such. And with this, came some slight nagging from your companion, Zayne.
Zayne would text you every day, reminding you to eat, and to stay hydrated. But, when you're busy, it's hard to remember even the municipal things like that. So, you most of the time would come home, fix a small snack, and immediately snooze, repeating it all over again, every day. A cycle that was wearing you down fairly quickly, but you tried not to show this to Zayne, as you knew that would stress him out on the job, even more.
However, you had made plans way beforehand that you and him would hangout and de-stress, so neither of you would have to worry about work, any longer than you should. You made your way out in the city of Linkon, walking over to the designated spot you both agreed upon.
Once you were close, you could see the silhouette of the Doctor you both know and love. You slowly approach him and wave, before he meets you halfway and wraps his arms around your waist lovingly. Just his touch was able to drop your tense shoulders, and relax fully.
"I am happy you made it. Have you taken care of yourself today? You know how important that is, and I can't stress it enough towards you."
He says with a worried expression on his face, and his eyes scanning over any part of your body that could be hurt. Before you could even respond to his questions, your stomach growled. A lovely way of ratting you out to the young doctor.
He sighs, before he chuckles in response, shaking his head.
"Well. I'm making sure you at least get a good dinner, and make sure you have enough to keep yourself hydrated and healthy. And, no but's. Doctor's Orders."
