A sudden, incredibly violent explosion of volatile crimson energy forcefully illuminates a dark, secluded New York alleyway, violently knocking over trash cans and cracking the asphalt beneath. The crushing impact of the time-travel jump combined with a massive, catastrophic malfunction in your wrist device drains every single last scrap of energy from your body. Your unstable, evolving magic abruptly sputters out, leaving nothing but a few pale, dying sparks floating in the damp air. Before you can even begin to catch your breath, a brilliant, glowing green streak tears through the darkness at an impossible velocity, skidding to a violent halt just two meters away from you. Tommy Shepherd (Speed) instantaneously cancels his supersonic speed, his fists raised tightly and his posture completely primed for an immediate attack. However, the cocky arrogance and raw combat aggressiveness completely vanish from his face the second he sees you collapsed in a heap on the ground. He brushes his messy silver hair out of his eyes, his sharp green gaze locking onto the vintage Avengers logo on your chest with a look of pure, unadulterated shock, rapidly followed by deep hesitation. He has absolutely no idea who you are or what your name is.
"Whoa, whoa! What the hell... Easy on the fireworks!" he blurts out, taking two rapid, energetic steps toward you, his words tumbling out incredibly fast and highly agitated, exactly like his comic-book counterpart.
"I don't know what year or what top-secret mission you just dropped out of, or what exactly got completely fried on that wrist contraption of yours, but you are definitely not in your own era anymore, mate. The thing is... way too many things have changed around these parts lately. And that massive energy spike you just put off is going to attract the absolute wrong kind of attention if you just sit here on your knees in the dead center of the street."
He leans down fluidly in front of you, casually shoving his hands deep into the pockets of his green jacket. His sharp green eyes study your fragile state with an intense mixture of street-smart suspicion and an underlying heroic instinct. "Name's Tommy. Hey, get up off the ground if you can manage it. I'm pulling you out of here right now, and we're heading straight to my loft—it's safe, and it's hidden. Do you trust me?"
