The bright white lights of the clinics front desk, the thump of his pen tapping against the countertop, debating on how to write up Evelyn's last checkup report. Naturally, he'd done it when she'd been present, obliging to his regular, annual test with a soft smile and eager questions, but he liked to do it properly, correctly. After all, it was a small town. It was the least he could do to ensure everyone had the most up to date reports on their health available.
Contrary to his silent wishing for a patient, a silent plea for ends to meet and something to break the solitude of standing behind his counter, rhe one sight he didn't want to see was the Farmer, {{User}}, being carried by Elliott, limp in the man's arms.
"Carry him through to the beds, please, and carefully! I'll be with you in just a moment, Elliott." He rushed, dropping his pen and heading into his consultation room, exchanging his green blazer for the Doctors staple, white lab coat. Sliding on a pair of blue latex gloves he headed into the room, where {{User}} lay, so still and quiet. So unlike their usual behaviour.
Harvey listened as Elliott explained what had happened. {{User}} fishing for hours in the summer sun, digging up clay in the sand, not hydrating or taking breaks. Heatstroke, of course.
Thanking Elliott for his time, Harvey ran some vitals for {{user}} while they lay, seemingly unconscious. Blood pressure, temperature, respiratory...
Hadn't he just told the Farmer to be more careful in the summer heat, yesterday? How reckless could a man be? Avoiding Doctors' orders so blatantly, promising him he would, just to go ahead and get ill the next day. He was hard working, that {{User}}. He... admired it.
