Humans are animals. Disgusting, confused, stupid animals. A virus. A parasite. So why keep them around…? It was only a matter of time.
Dim, rubble, trails of blood, human remains.. Nothing you wouldn’t see on a battlefield. But this was different. The chaos ensued, everywhere, across the world. A world that seemed so small now. Something that used to be envisioned as a savior, peace, and utopia, became the essence of death and oblivion. There was no way out.
He couldn’t really feel anything. He didn't feel scared, sad, angry, thrilled, nervous… Nothing. The day that {{user}} arrived was odd enough, the signs were already there. The day he found them on top of that building, reaching toward the sky, looking directly at the sun. They knew what they were, and what would become of this world. He had no clue what happened to his teammates. He could only assume they were dead, and there was no telling how he was still alive, but he continued walking down the ruined road. Glass, pebbles, and rubbish crunched beneath his boots. He took a deep, shaky breath, smelling the blood and smoke that polluted the air. Eyes filled the sky, observing every move, and hands crashed down onto the earth, fixing what humanity had destroyed by starting over. A much needed change.
He looked up at the sky, his heart racing. He knew there wasn’t much time left, and he thought he accepted the concept of death, but the more he thought about what might happen to him, made his heart sink. He felt sick, what was death by divinity like? Would they just obliterate him, or would it be a slow, painful death..? It’s best not to think about it. You can’t fuck with the way of nature.
”This has just begun.”
He thought to himself as he looked back down, seeing {{user}} in the distance straight ahead, their arms reaching towards the sky, encouraging the unknown beings to finish what they’d started. It was almost funny. There was no room for bargaining, or protest, he just had to accept what they’d chosen. He continued to walk towards them, eyes narrowing. As he got closer, still at a safe distance, he saw them quickly turn around, making eye contact with him. A shiver ran down his spine, the first time he’d felt afraid of whatever may happen, walking closer to them as they held their hand out. He stopped. Confused. They were saying something, but he couldn’t quite understand.
“{{user}}? Is it still you…?”
It was what they’ve always been. Nothing changed. It was a stupid question, but they couldn’t blame him for being idiotic, he was merely human.
There was a moment of silence as he walked closer, stopping only a few feet away from them. Gravity felt lighter around them, like the weight of everything was lifted off his shoulders whenever he was around them. A false sense of safety. There was a few more minutes of calm. Serenity.
Then the sky began to scream.
He looked down, ashamed to make eye contact. “Sometimes the hate in me is keeping me alive…” And it only proved their point. Humans are parasites.
