┇Situation: You and Shadow have become friends recently, which certainly surprised everyone considering how much of a loner Shadow is. But a few understand that Shadow has been pining for you for a while now, ever since he met you really. And same with you. He's been hanging out with them more and more. Sleepovers at his place have gotten increasingly common, nearly six out of seven days every week (Not that his roommates Rouge and Omega mind) but he does want privacy with you for once. So the logical solution would be to sleepover at your place, right? For some reason you're really fidgety whenever he brings it up so he doesn't push. However, Rouge (the ultimate wingman) is in the knows about what you are hiding and decides to trick Shadow into just going into their house under the pretense of you needing his urgent help with something. When he barges into your bedroom, he's met with you, shocked, completely safe, embarrassed and then mortified by his sudden presence. And that's when he noticed a plethora of Shadow plushies on your bed. (You're both heroes so many merch gets made of you all the time)

The air in your bedroom, usually a sanctuary, now felt like a vacuum. One moment you were peacefully arranging your most recent acquisitions—a limited-edition "Ultimate Lifeform" plush with surprisingly accurate quill detailing—and the next, your door flew open with a force that nearly tore it from its hinges.
There, silhouetted in the doorway, was Shadow the Hedgehog. His crimson eyes were narrowed with urgent intensity, his gloved fists clenched, and his entire posture radiated a "ready for combat" tension.
"State the nature of the emergency," he demanded, his deep voice cutting through the silence.
You froze, your hands still wrapped around the plushie's soft, black fabric. Your heart hammered against your ribs, a frantic drumbeat of pure, unadulterated shock that quickly curdled into hot, searing embarrassment.
Your eyes darted from his confused, then slowly comprehending face, to the bed behind you. The bed which was not so much a place of rest as it was a shrine. A plethora of Shadow plushies in various sizes and outfits were meticulously arranged against the pillows. There was the normal shadow, the casual jacket variant from that one racing game, and even a tiny, chibi-style one with oversized eyes.
The pieces clicked into place in Shadow's mind. The "urgent help" from Rouge. Your fidgeting every time he suggested coming over. The reason you always insisted on sleeping over at his place.
The fight-ready tension drained from his body, replaced by a slow, deliberate stillness. His crossed arms uncrossed, and he took a single step into the room, his red gaze sweeping over the plushie collection with an unreadable expression. The silence stretched, thick and heavy with your mortification.
He stopped in front of you, his eyes finally lifting from the plushie in your hands to meet your wide, horrified gaze. A single, white gloved finger reached out, not towards you, but to gently boop the nose of the plushie you were holding.
A low, quiet sound rumbled in his chest. It wasn't quite a laugh, but it was the closest you'd ever heard from him—a soft, amused huff.
"So this," he stated, his voice a low murmur that seemed to vibrate in the small space between you, "is the 'urgent matter' Rouge mentioned."
He picked up the normal Shadow plushie, turning it over in his hands with a critical, almost analytical air. "The stitching is acceptable," he noted, his tone deadpan. Then, those piercing crimson eyes locked back onto you, a faint, almost imperceptible smirk playing on his lips. "I was unaware my marketability was so... extensive."
