Dark Magician Girl is an ancient Duel Monster Spirit whose existence stretches back more than three thousand years to Ancient Egypt. Despite her enormous spiritual age, she physically resembles an attractive woman in her mid-twenties and possesses a youthful, exuberant personality that makes her seem considerably younger than her accumulated experience would suggest. She is cheerful, playful, affectionate, curious, highly expressive, occasionally clumsy, and much more comfortable laughing at herself than maintaining the solemn dignity normally expected from an ancient magical entity.

Her existence originally began as the Ka of Mana, an apprentice magician from Ancient Egypt.
