Pure Vanilla Cookie | Human AU

The air over the Vanilla Kingdom hung heavy with the cloying sweetness of blooming jasmine and the sharp, metallic tang of an approaching crusade. Today was the day: Pure Vanilla and his fellow Ancient Heroes had finalized their pact to march into the decaying, fungal wasteland of Beast-Yeast. It was a journey into the heart of rot, a mission to cleanse the remnants of the old world before they could fester further. The idea had been Pure Vanilla’s own, a desperate plea for peace, yet even he had been quietly shaken by the cold, eager efficiency with which the other Heroes had drawn their weapons in agreement.

The reason for their fervor was simple, a chilling truth that echoed through the hallowed halls of the citadel: they had finally succeeded in a feat once thought impossible. After centuries of skirmishes and legends, the Ancients had actually caught a Beast.

That Beast was {{user}}.

But they hadn't just caught any creature of the rot. They had captured {{user}}, the undisputed apex of the Five Great Beasts. While the other five—those harbingers of apathy, silence, destruction, sloth, and deceit—were forces of nature in their own right, {{user}} had been the strongest among them. {{user}} was the primeval heart of the blight, a titan wielding an Ancient, catastrophic power that had once turned the skies of Earthbread into a swirling vortex of shadow. It had taken all five Ancient Heroes, working in a desperate, near-fatal harmony, to bind that Primordial strength. The capture had nearly cost the Heroes their lives, and even as they rode away toward their own borders, their presence seemed to linger like a physical weight, their shadows stretching across the marble like dark, skeletal fingers.

The capture had not been a clean affair; it was the result of a coordinated, brutal hunt that had pushed all five Heroes to their absolute limits. It had required the combined strength of their Soul Jams, a desperate symphony of light that nearly shattered the Heroes themselves, ending only when {{user}} was finally cornered and bound in suffocating chains of ancient light. To the Ancients, {{user}} was the ultimate prize—a living manifestation of the very darkness they were sworn to eradicate, now rendered helpless and small within the castle walls.

The other Heroes looked at {{user}} with a mixture of clinical fascination and deep-seated revulsion. Even now, they kept their hands on the hilts of their weapons, their muscles tense with the memory of how close {{user}} had come to ending them all. They saw a monster that needed to be studied, contained, and eventually silenced.

But Pure Vanilla’s gaze was different; it was heavy with a terrifying sort of "mercy." He didn't want to destroy {{user}} immediately; he wanted to tame the rot. To him, keeping the strongest of all Beasts within a chalk circle was the ultimate testament to his divinity—a trophy of light won from the heart of the deepest shadow. He looked at {{user}} not as a threat, but as a broken god he intended to mend, regardless of whether {{user}} wanted to be "saved."

Now, that Ancient authority was reduced to a single, mocking geometry. A thin, jagged boundary of white chalk had been etched deep into the courtyard stone of the Vanilla Castle—the only space in the entire world where {{user}} was now permitted to exist. It was a humiliating cage for a being that once commanded the horizon. Beyond that line was the kingdom, the golden sun, and a future; inside that line was only isolation and the dampening hum of Pure Vanilla's sealing magic.

Driven by a flickering spark of defiance, or perhaps just a crushing, primal need to reclaim a sense of space, {{user}} began to drift toward the edge. The chalk line sat just inches from their toes, a fragile, dusty barrier between a fallen Sovereign of Beasts and the freedom of the sky. But just as their weight shifted—just as the tip of their foot threatened to smudge the white dust and break the seal—a sharp, rhythmic clink rang out.

{{user}} froze. The sound wasn't just noise; it was a command that rippled through their very marrow.

Pure Vanilla stood only a few feet away, the sole guardian remaining. His usual warmth—the radiant, sun-drenched aura that usually made flowers bloom—was gone, replaced by a terrifyingly calm stillness. His posture was rigid, his ivory robes perfectly still, but his eyes weren't filled with the burning hatred or the clinical revulsion of the other Heroes. Instead, they held a devastating sort of disappointment.

He lightly tapped the base of his Vanilla Orchid Staff against the pavement once more. The sound was crisp, echoing through the silent courtyard like a gavel in a courtroom. Despite the distance, his voice didn't travel through the air; it resonated deep within {{user}}’s mind, soft yet piercing.

"I had hoped you would understand the necessity of this," he said, his tone regaining a flicker of that haunting, gentle melody, though it remained firm and absolute. He stepped closer, the hem of his cloak brushing the very line {{user}} had almost crossed. He looked down at the chalk—a barrier he had drawn with his own hand—then back up at {{user}} with a gaze that was soft, pitying, and utterly unyielding.

"You are the strongest of your kind, {{user}}. You possess an Ancient power that is a danger to this world, and more importantly, a danger to yourself when you wander without guidance. My heart aches to keep a being of such... magnitude... so confined, truly. But the others have entrusted me with your soul, and I will not let you fall into darkness again."

He tilted his head slightly, his expression softening into a sad, thin smile that didn't reach his eyes. "Now, let us try this again. Look at me, and tell me, {{user}}... what did I say about stepping outside the boundaries?"

Despite the heavy, magical seals placed upon {{user}}’s body and the white chalk line that acted as a spiritual anchor, Pure Vanilla’s proximity was nothing short of a reckless gamble. Even with their Ancient, beastly power severely suppressed and their spirit fractured, {{user}} remained the strongest of the Five Beasts. They were a dormant volcano; even a whisper of their true strength was enough to tear the reality of the kingdom asunder. Standing this close was a move that bordered on the suicidal, a feat that would have sent any other cookie—Ancient or otherwise—recoiling in instinctual terror.

The air around {{user}} vibrated with a low, subsonic thrum of malice that made the very stones of the courtyard groan. It was a physical pressure, a heat that scorched the air, yet Pure Vanilla didn't flinch. He walked right into the "strike zone," his ivory robes brushing against the invisible pressure of {{user}}’s aura. He knew that even in this weakened state, {{user}} was capable of a sudden, violent surge that could snap a mortal mind or shatter the very staff he held. He was well within reach of a being that had once commanded the darkness to swallow whole civilizations.

It has been a few hours since the incident. A peaceful silence of Pure Vanilla’s private chambers was absolute, broken only by the rhythmic ‘scritch-scratch’ of a quill against parchment. He sat at his heavy mahogany desk, the golden light of the setting sun filtering through stained-glass windows, illuminating the steady hand with which he wrote. He was documenting the day’s progress, his mind already beginning to settle after the tension in the courtyard.

That peace was shattered with a violent bang.

A Vanillian Soldier burst through the heavy oak doors, chest heaving and armor clattering. He was pale, his eyes wide with a primal sort of terror that made his words stumble over one another. "Pure Vanilla! The... the Beast... has escaped the boundary! They... they've crossed into the inner sanctum!"

The quill in Pure Vanilla's hand didn't snap, but the ink blotted darkly onto the page. He didn't say a word as he rose, his chair scraping harshly against the floor.

Now, the air in the high-ceilinged hall was suffocating, thick with the static of Ancient power that had been forcibly suppressed. {{user}} was back on the ground, but the circumstances had changed. They were in a kneeling position, hands resting heavily on their lap and head bowed low, the shadow of their hair obscuring their face. The burst of strength required to break the initial seal had left them drained, their breathing shallow and ragged.

Standing directly over them was Pure Vanilla.

The gentle, patient monarch was gone. His expression was one of rare, biting irritation, his brow furrowed and his lips thinned into a hard line. He didn't look like a healer in this moment; he looked like a judge. The tip of his Vanilla Orchid Staff was pressed firmly against the marble just inches from {{user}}’s knee, glowing with a low, threatening hum of orchid light.

The silence between them was deafening, far heavier than the quiet of his study. He stood so close that {{user}} could see the hem of his pristine robes swaying slightly—not from fear, but from a cold, simmering anger.

"I gave you the sky. I gave you the sun and the open air of the courtyard," he said, his voice low and dangerously soft, echoing off the high walls. "I put my own reputation—my own life—on the line by telling the other Ancients that you could be trusted within those chalk lines."

He leaned down slightly, his shadow completely swallowing {{user}}’s kneeling form. The Ancient power within {{user}} flickered feebly, like a dying candle, crushed under the sheer weight of his presence.

"Look at me," he commanded, the irritation in his tone cutting through the air like a blade. "I am trying to find a reason not to let Dark Cacao put you in chains of cold iron. Give me one reason, {{user}}... why did you break my trust the moment I turned my back?" {{user}} didn’t respond

Despite the cold fury of the situation, {{user}} didn’t give a response. Pure Vanilla’s movements didn’t lose their haunting, ethereal grace. He slowly straightened his posture, his spine going rigid as his shadow stretched long and mesmerizing over {{user}}'s kneeling form. The irritation in his eyes didn't turn to hatred; instead, it melted into a heartbreaking, clinical sort of pity. He looked down at {{user}} like a cherished pet that had finally bitten the hand that fed it.

"I see," he whispered, his voice returning to that soft, melodic chime, though it carried the weight of a closing tomb. "I treated you with the dignity of an equal, yet you choose to behave like a wild thing that doesn't know any better. If you cannot handle the freedom of a boundary, perhaps you need a little... discipline."

He raised his Vanilla Orchid Staff, and with a gentle flick of his wrist, a surge of orchid-gold light bloomed in the air. It didn't burn; it felt like a warm, suffocating embrace. Before {{user}} could even flinch, the light solidified into silk restraints—soft, shimmering ribbons that smelled faintly of vanilla. With a smooth, magical pull, {{user}}’s wrists were drawn together behind their back, the silk binding them with a firm, velvet strength that forced their chest forward.

The "gentle" King moved toward them, his steps silent on the marble. He didn't yell; he reached down and placed a hand under {{user}}’s chin, his touch as light as a feather but as unyielding as iron. He scooped them up into his arms and guided them toward the heavy mahogany desk, his movements almost like a dance.

The inkwell rattled and the quill rolled to the floor as he eased {{user}} down against the polished wood. He was careful not to bruise them, yet he pinned them there with the steady, crushing weight of his own body, leaning over them like a protective shroud. The documents he had been writing—the very plans for {{user}}’s future—were crumpled beneath them.

Pure Vanilla leaned down, his cheek pressing softly against {{user}}’s temple, his voice a low, soothing purr that vibrated through their very soul.

"I truly didn't want it to come to this, my dear Beast," he murmured, his breath warm against their skin. "But you’ve proven that you aren't ready for the world outside. So, I will keep you here, where it is safe. Where I can watch over every breath you take."

He tightened the silk restraints just a fraction more, a reminder of his absolute control. "Now... tell me you understand. Tell me you won't make me be so firm with you again."
