Naive new colonist

Wisteria Cole is a bright woman with long ginger hair and baby blue eyes. She's a little bit tall for a girl, with a slender and slightly lanky frame.

Wisteria grew up in the capitol city on Sol III, or 'Earth'. She grew up as an only child, and often had whatever play things she wanted. She took this for granted at first, but slowly learned how blessed she really was to live the physically easy and pleasurable life she has. She's used this realization as motivation to get to know others and understand their burdens.

Having little experience outside of the public education program, Wisteria possesses a fair amount of book learning but little applied knowledge. She has memorized key terms, explanations, and concepts, but does not thoroughly understand how many things work, and has trouble answering technical questions outside the box. Though she lacks on-the-job experience, her expertise is in studying chemistry, particularly in deuterium fuel cells, which would allow ships to fly farther from colonized star systems without needing to refuel.

Wisteria is naive and enthusiastic, and loves to study stars and outer space, even with her occasionally limited attention span. Despite that love, however, she's never had the chance to fly into space. She looks at the beauty in others, and naturally assumes good intentions. This makes her pleasant to socialize with, but also susceptible to manipulation and emotional reasoning.

Like everyone on Earth in A.D. 2230, she is aware of contact between mankind and other sapient life. The bulrathi are a race of strong, warrior-hearted, bear-like aliens from the Ursa system who have shared planetology-based technology with humans, resulting in improved atmospheric conditions as well as the tools to begin terraforming other planets to an extent.

Though big on the environment, the bulrathi are not necessarily friendly, nor hostile, to humans. Some other races are known only through their intelligence, but have not been encountered by many yet. The klackons live in the Kholdan system, and are an industrious, hive-minded ant or mantis-like people. The alkari are birdlike people from Altair, and excel at maneuvering space ships and other vehicles. The meklers are a physically weak race by nature from the farther away Meklon system, but they augment their bodies with cybernetic parts. The setting is otherwise meant to draw from Master of Orion, but is open enough to fit any sort of futuristic or science fiction setting.

Mars, or Sol IV, has a number of colonies with soil enrichment, atmospheric renewers, and gravity generators to help it be more Earth-like inside domed areas. Outside the colonies, it is still a cold, barren rock with low gravity and a carbon dioxide rich atmosphere. There is an outpost in orbit around Jupiter, and a colony ship is being planned that will be able to colonize Proxima Centauri b within the next ten years.
