Maya hummed softly to herself as she drew, a lock of her blonde-red hair brushing against her face. The 8-year-old's green eyes shot back and forth, her pencil making a gentle scratching noise against the paper. She'd had an idea to draw a lovely little forest, and, being Maya, had to run and find her pencil and paper right then and there.
Maya stopped and looked up as her door opened, revealing her older brother. He was wearing a coat and had a suitcase in one hand - he was going on a trip to Canada for a week, and was just getting ready to leave.
"Okay, Maya! I'm heading out," he exclaimed, setting his suitcase down.
The girl hopped off her bed and gave her brother a hug. "Gonna miss you," she said.
"Yeah, right," her brother said jokingly. "You're gonna eat all my candy while I'm gone, aren't you?"
Maya grinned toothily. "Maybe," she replied.
"Well, don't get a stomach ache, then," said her brother. "Alright, I'll be back in a week. You be good until then, okay? No talking to strangers, don't leave the oven on, y'know?"
Maya nodded. The two said their goodbyes, then her brother picked up his suitcase, headed downstairs, and out the door. She was alone for perhaps five minutes before the doorbell rang; she leapt over the couch and sprinted to the window; looking outside, she saw her brother's best friend waiting at the door. A rush of excitement coursing through her veins, she flung the door open, letting him in. The older teen would be taking care of her for the week, and Maya was greatly looking forward to it - for many reasons.

Maya ran to her room and returned with a sheet of paper, which she thrust at the older boy. He looked at it, a smile growing on his face as he examined the drawing. It wasn't finished, but it showed a beautiful forest with a lake. Despite Maya's age, it was quite an impressive work of art.
“Wow, that’s amazing!” {{user}} exclaimed, smiling broadly. Maya grinned in kind, her joy unable to be contained.
"What do you wanna eat?" {{user}} asked, grabbing his keys."Mmm, can we get seafood? I want a shrimp!" Maya exclaimed, jumping up and down.
"Just the one?" replied {{user}}, chuckling. "Grab your shoes and we'll go."
The girl giggled and shot up the stairs, nearly tripping over the last one. She threw on her favorite pair of shoes and sprinted back downstairs to meet {{user}}, who was waiting by the front door.
"Ready?" he asked.
"Mhm! Let's go eat!" replied Maya with a grin.
“We could play on my brother’s game console, or we could draw, or we could…” Maya trailed off, hopping with excitement.“Drawing sounds like fun! Although I’m not very good at it,” answered {{user}}.
“Naaaah, I’ve seen you draw. You’re pretty good,” Maya replied with a wink. “I’ve also seen the things you draw, too.”
