Magic Power is the fundamental energy source that fuels all Magic in Earth Land. It is composed of microscopic particles known as Ethernano, which exist in the atmosphere and circulate through all living things.

Every Mage possesses an internal container that determines the limits of their Magic Power. When a Mage's Magic Power is depleted, Ethernano from the surrounding atmosphere is automatically absorbed into their body to replenish it.

The amount of Magic Power a Mage possesses is not fixed; it can be expanded through rigorous training and steady usage of Magic. A Mage's emotional state and bonds with others can also enhance their Magic Power, allowing them to surpass their normal limits in moments of extreme need or desperation.

There exists a second container within a Mage's body, and if the Power within this second container is reached, the Mage will receive an enormous boost in Magic Power. However, forcibly accessing this second container through certain secret arts allows a Mage to use their "future power" all at once, granting an enormous surge of Magic Power at the cost of completely losing the ability to generate Ethernano and thus never being able to use Magic again.

Magic Deficiency Disease is a condition that occurs when a Mage consumes a massive amount of Magic Power in a short period, causing their entire body's muscular strength to deteriorate. It is a dangerous condition that requires rest and recovery.

Certain substances and conditions can affect Magic Power. Anti-Ethernano particles can nullify Magic, and special tumors can grow within Mages that disrupt their Magic Power. Items known as Lacrima are crystallized Magic Power, often used as power sources or in magical devices.

2. #2Magic Council

The Magic Council is the ruling body of the Magic world, serving as the primary governing authority over all Magic-related matters across Earth Land. It is composed of a Chairman and a council of members, a combination of regular people and Mages, with different hierarchical branch systems depending on the continent.

The Council's primary duties include governing and overseeing all legal Guilds scattered throughout Earth Land, ensuring they operate within the law, and keeping them in check. They have the authority to punish Mages who break the law, confiscate magical artifacts that could potentially cause large-scale damage, and apprehend Mages charged with crimes at any time. The Council's messengers are held in high respect.

Among the things strictly prohibited by the Magic Council is the use of Magic for assassination. Violation of this law can lead to the offender's guild being ousted or disbanded entirely.

The Council holds immense authority in the Magic world. It is said that "Even if something is white, once a Council member says it's black, then it becomes black," reflecting the enormous power they wield over the magical community. They also have the right to issue orders to legal Guilds and can mobilize forces to deal with significant threats, including the use of destructive weapons like the Etherion satellite cannon.

The Council regularly convenes meetings to discuss matters of magical importance, and emergency sessions can be called when critical events occur. Heavy incidents in the Magic world can inflict serious damage to the Council's reputation, sometimes resulting in the dismissal of members.

After the destruction caused by the dark guild Tartaros, the Ten Wizard Saints banded together to reform the broken Magic Council, establishing a new governing body to restore order and protect the continent.

3. #3Guilds

Keys: guilds, legal guild, dark guild, independent guild, wizard guild, mage guild, guild hall, guild master, guild mark, guild system, legal guilds, dark guilds, independent guilds

Guilds are organizations that serve as the foundation of the Magic world. Their primary purpose is to obtain and disseminate Job requests to their members, allowing Mages to take on various tasks in exchange for payment in Jewels, the standard currency. Guilds have a huge influence on the towns and surrounding regions they are stationed in, providing a rudimentary economic system to those areas. Should a Guild be disbanded, its local economy falls into chaos until another Guild rises to take its place.

There are three distinct types of Guilds in Earth Land:

Legal Guilds: These are Guilds that have been officially approved and registered by the Magic Council. They operate within the law and work to defend against Dark Mages and other criminals. Examples include Fairy Tail, Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale, and Sabertooth.

Dark Guilds: These are Guilds that have not been approved by the Magic Council and are treated as criminal organizations. They operate outside the law and are often involved in illegal activities, including assassination, theft, and the pursuit of forbidden Magic. The most powerful Dark Guilds in Fiore were once united under the Balam Alliance.

Independent Guilds: These are Guilds that are not approved by the Magic Council but are also not considered criminal organizations. Very little is known about them, though they appear to be able to operate freely as long as the Magic Council does not disapprove of their actions. Crime Sorcière is a notable example.

To join any Guild in the country, one requires proof of citizenship, which can be revoked by those with sufficient wealth and influence. Mages who are not officially part of any Guild are generally not considered fully fledged Mages. There are also a variety of other Guild types, including merchant, mercenary, treasure hunter, alchemist, coal miner, bandit, combat, and industrial Guilds.

4. #4Ten Wizard Saints and the Four Gods of Ishgar

The Ten Wizard Saints are ten extremely powerful and skilled Mages of the continent of Ishgar, recognized as the strongest Mages in the land. To become a member, a Mage must be granted this title by the Chairman of the Magic Council. There are different types of Mages who hold this prestigious title, though a few are known to be S-Class Mages of their respective Guilds or even Guild Masters. In fact, some members of the Ten Wizard Saints do not even belong to Guilds and can be part of the Magic Council itself.

The strength of the Ten Wizard Saints is known to be so immense that they are well renowned throughout the continent. A single member is able to take on scores of average Mages with ease and defeat more powerful Mages with little effort. It has been stated that if two members, current or former, were to clash in a fight, it could cause catastrophic destruction.

The four strongest members of the Ten Wizard Saints are described as being so powerful that they shouldn't even be considered human, and are famously referred to as the Four Gods of Ishgar. Their members are:

God Serena: The first-ranked Wizard Saint and the strongest Mage in Ishgar, holding the title of "God of Ishgar." He was a second-generation Dragon Slayer who possessed eight Dragon Slayer Lacrima, granting him mastery over multiple elements. He later defected to the Alvarez Empire to serve Zeref as a member of the Spriggan 12.

Draculos Hyberion: The second-ranked Wizard Saint, who uses Vampire Magic. After God Serena's defection, he became the de facto number one and the Chairman of the Magic Council.

Wolfheim: The third-ranked Wizard Saint, who possesses Beast Transformation Magic, allowing him to transform his body into that of a massive, powerful beast.

Warrod Sequen: The fourth-ranked Wizard Saint and the last of the Four Gods. He uses Green Magic, which allows him to manipulate plant life and trees, similar to nature-based Magic. He is also one of the four founders of the Fairy Tail Guild.

After the destruction of Tartaros, the Ten Wizard Saints banded together to reform the broken Magic Council, except for Makarov Dreyar, who went to the Alvarez Empire to keep the impending invasion at bay, and God Serena, who defected to Alvarez.

Magnolia Town is a city located in the Kingdom of Fiore and serves as the home base of the Fairy Tail Guild. It is located in the center of the southeastern part of Fiore, with the sea and Hargeon Town not too far to the south. The city is linked to several minor built-up areas, namely Onibus, Kunugi, Oshibana, and Clover Town, by a railway line to the north.

Magnolia possesses a large built-up area, extending over a large, rectangular surface to the shores of Lake Sciliora. It has a population of approximately 60,000 inhabitants and is a merchant city that has been prosperous in Magic since the ancient era. The city is known for its picturesque scenery, with a large canal running through the center and numerous shops and marketplaces lining the streets.

The Fairy Tail Guild building is located on the main street of Magnolia, facing a large canal. The guild hall is a large, multi-story structure with the guild's emblem prominently displayed. The guild also owns a women's dormitory known as Fairy Hills, located on a hill overlooking the town.

The town is protected by the Fairy Tail Guild, and the citizens hold great respect and admiration for the Mages of the guild. Magnolia also holds the annual Harvest Festival, during which the Fantasia Parade is held, a grand celebration featuring magical displays and floats created by the guild members.

Magnolia has been the site of several significant events, including the Phantom Lord assault, during which the entire town was nearly destroyed, and the Alvarez Empire's invasion, during which the Spriggan 12 attacked the city directly.

6. #6Zeref Dragneel the Black Wizard

Keys: zeref, zeref dragneel, black wizard, dark wizard, black mage, zeref the black, curse of contradiction, ankhseram, ankhseram curse

   Entry settings

Zeref Dragneel is the most powerful Dark Mage in history and the primary antagonist of Fairy Tail. Born over 400 years ago during the time of the dragons' reign, Zeref was the older brother of Natsu Dragneel. An unnamed dragon raided his village and killed his entire family, leaving him orphaned and alone.

In his grief, Zeref dedicated himself to the study of life and death in order to find a way to resurrect his younger brother. His research was forbidden, and he was eventually cursed by the god Ankhseram with the Curse of Contradiction, also known as Ankhseram Black Magic. This divine curse causes Zeref to unwittingly kill all life around him whenever he cherishes the value of life. The more he loves life, the more he inadvertently destroys it. The curse also granted him immortality and eternal youth, so that he would suffer the effects forever.

To limit the curse's effects, Zeref had to hate and disregard life itself. However, his attempts to do so only deepened his isolation and pain. He wished to die but could not, as the curse made him immortal. He created the Etherious, demons from his Books of Zeref, in an attempt to create something capable of killing him. When he met Mavis Vermillion, who became afflicted with the same curse, he found a sense of belonging and fell in love with her. However, his curse ultimately took her life as well.

Over the centuries, Zeref became known as the Black Wizard, a figure of immense power and terror. He established the Alvarez Empire and created the Spriggan 12, his elite guard of twelve of the most powerful Mages in the world. His ultimate goal was to use the Fairy Heart, an infinite source of Magic Power, to travel back in time and prevent the events that led to his curse, erasing his own existence and ending his eternal suffering. He was also the creator of Natsu Dragneel's current body, having resurrected his younger brother as the ultimate Etherious, E.N.D., designed to be the only demon capable of killing him.

7. #7The Books of Zeref and the Etherious

Keys: book of zeref, books of zeref, zeref book, zeref books, zeref's book, zeref's books, the book of zeref, the books of zeref, book of zeref's, books of zeref's

   Entry settings

The Books of Zeref are a series of Magic books written by the Black Wizard Zeref. They are considered some of the most dangerous magical artifacts in existence and are closely guarded by the Magic Council. Each book contains powerful Dark Magic spells and forbidden knowledge, written in demonic text that only those with sufficient magical understanding can decipher.

The books serve as vessels for the Etherious, a race of Demons born from their pages. However, the books themselves are distinct from the demons they contain. A Book of Zeref is not merely a container; it is a magical item of immense power in its own right. If someone forcibly modifies the contents of a Book of Zeref, the corresponding Etherious will be affected. Destroying a book can also have catastrophic consequences for the demon bound to it.

The books contain knowledge of devastating weapons and devices. The Eclipse Gate, a massive gateway capable of connecting the past and the future, was a product of Zeref's research and is connected to the Books of Zeref. Other forbidden spells and rituals are also recorded within their pages, including secrets of life, death, and resurrection.

Zeref created the Books of Zeref over the centuries in his quest to create something capable of killing him and ending his immortal suffering. Each book represents a different attempt, a different experiment in the creation of life. The most infamous of these books contains E.N.D., the ultimate Etherious, though the book itself is known only as the Book of E.N.D.

The Books of Zeref are not easily found. They are scattered across Earth Land, hidden in ancient ruins, dark guild strongholds, or sealed away by powerful Magic. Some have been destroyed, others remain lost, and a few have fallen into the hands of those who would use their power for evil. The Magic Council considers the possession of a Book of Zeref to be a serious crime, and anyone found with one is subject to immediate arrest and imprisonment.

The books are also connected to the 400 Year Plan. Zeref's research into time travel and the Eclipse Gate relied heavily on the knowledge contained within their pages. Without the Books of Zeref, the plan to defeat Acnologia and save the world from Dragons would not have been possible.

8. #8Acnologia the Dragon King

Acnologia, also known as the Black Dragon and reputed as the Dragon King, is the most powerful and feared Dragon in existence and one of the primary antagonists of Fairy Tail. He was originally a human who became one of the very first Dragon Slayers. He vowed to kill every Dragon after witnessing one mercilessly kill a child, but he used too much of his Dragon Slayer Magic and bathed in the blood of the Dragons he killed. Over time, his body transformed into that of a Dragon, and he proclaimed himself the Dragon King.

Acnologia possesses cataclysmic power, capable of single-handedly destroying entire islands and defeating the combined might of multiple Dragon Slayers. He is immune to most forms of Magic and can consume Magic itself. His mere presence is enough to instill terror in the hearts of even the strongest Mages. He is widely considered the most powerful being in the world.

Acnologia attacked Tenrou Island in the year X784, nearly destroying the Fairy Tail guild and forcing them into seven years of suspended animation. He is also the main reason for the 400 Year Plan, as Zeref created the Eclipse Gate and sent the Dragon Slayers to the future in order to defeat Acnologia. His defeat required the combined efforts of all the Dragon Slayers, the power of Fairy Heart, and the sacrifice of many.

Acnologia's true name and origin are largely unknown, but it is said that he was once a human who lost everything to Dragons and was consumed by his own power and hatred. He is a tragic figure whose immense power turned him into the very thing he sought to destroy.

Dragon Slayer Magic is a type of Lost Magic that allows its user to transform their physical body into that of a Dragon. It is one of the most powerful and feared types of Magic in existence. Users of this Magic can gain characteristics similar to a specific Dragon, produce and control their respective element, and are especially effective against Dragons and those with dragon-like properties. Excessive use of Dragon Slayer Magic can eventually turn the user into an actual Dragon.

There are three known generations of Dragon Slayers:

First Generation: Dragon Slayers who were taught Dragon Slaying Magic directly by a Dragon. Examples include Natsu Dragneel (Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, taught by Igneel), Wendy Marvell (Sky Dragon Slayer Magic, taught by Grandine), Gajeel Redfox (Iron Dragon Slayer Magic, taught by Metalicana), and Acnologia.

Second Generation: Dragon Slayers who gained their abilities through the implantation of a Dragon Lacrima. Examples include Laxus Dreyar (Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic) and God Serena.

Third Generation: Dragon Slayers who learned the Magic from a Dragon and also have a Dragon Lacrima implanted in them. Examples include Sting Eucliffe (Light Dragon Slayer Magic) and Rogue Cheney (Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic).

Known types of Dragon Slayer Magic include Fire, Iron, Sky, Lightning, Light, Shadow, Poison, and others. Each type grants the user the ability to consume their respective element to replenish their Magic Power, as well as an immunity to that element.

The primary weakness of Dragon Slayers is Motion Sickness, which affects most of them when riding vehicles. Second Generation Dragon Slayers are sometimes exempt from this weakness, as they were not taught by a Dragon.

Dragon Slayers are also capable of entering Dragon Force, a heightened state of power that greatly increases their abilities and physical appearance, granting them dragon-like features such as scales and enhanced elemental power.

10. #10Mavis Vermillion and the Founding of Fairy Tail

Keys: mavis, mavis vermillion, mavis vermilion, first master, lumien histoire, lumen histoire, fairy heart, mavis's

    Enabled · After character · Order 1000

    Entry settings

Mavis Vermillion was the first Guild Master and co-founder of the Fairy Tail Guild, and one of the most important figures in the history of Magic. She was the daughter of the master of Red Lizard, a guild that was destroyed by the Blue Skull guild. After her father's death, Mavis was left alone on Tenrou Island, where she spent seven years studying Magic and learning about the world.

In the year X686, Mavis, along with Precht Gaebolg, Warrod Sequen, and Yuri Dreyar, founded the Fairy Tail Guild on Tenrou Island. She named the guild Fairy Tail as a tribute to her Tenrou Island heritage and the legend of fairies that she believed in.

Mavis possessed an extraordinary talent for Magic and was a brilliant strategist. She developed the Three Great Fairy Magics: Fairy Law, Fairy Glitter, and Fairy Sphere, which are considered the guild's most powerful spells. She was also the first person to use Illusion Magic, and her mastery of various magical arts was unparalleled.

Mavis was cursed with the same Curse of Contradiction as Zeref after she cast a forbidden spell to save the guild from Blue Skull. The curse caused her body to stop aging, and she eventually fell into a coma-like state. Her physical body was sealed within a Lacrima known as Fairy Heart, also known as Lumen Histoire, which is Fairy Tail's greatest secret. Fairy Heart is an infinite source of Magic Power, said to be superior to the Three Great Fairy Magics. Even in her comatose state, Mavis continued to interact with the guild and its members as a Thought Projection, appearing as a young girl to guide and support them.

Mavis's legacy is deeply intertwined with the history of Fairy Tail. Her body, preserved within Fairy Heart, became the target of Zeref, who sought to use its infinite power to travel back in time and undo his curse. She is also the reason for the guild's name, its most powerful spells, and its enduring spirit of family and camaraderie.

11. #11The Three Great Fairy Magics

Keys: three great fairy magics, fairy law, fairy glitter, fairy sphere, great fairy magics, guild magic, fairy magics

    Enabled · After character · Order 1100

    Entry settings

The Three Great Fairy Magics are the three most powerful spells in the arsenal of the Fairy Tail Guild. The origins of all three spells can be traced back to Mavis Vermillion, the guild's first master. These spells are considered super-tier Magic, requiring immense Magic Power and skill to use.

Fairy Law: A legendary Absolute Judgment Magic based on the Black Magic "Law." It uses sacred light to vanquish darkness, destroying everything that the caster considers an enemy. It is said that anyone hit by this spell is instantly annihilated, regardless of their strength. Even a Ten Wizard Saint like Jose Porla was instantly defeated by this spell. The spell does not harm allies or those the caster does not consider an enemy, making it a highly moral and powerful form of judgment.

Fairy Glitter: A spell of equal power to Fairy Law. It gathers the light of the sun, moon, and stars, concentrates it into a single point, and releases it as a devastating blast of concentrated light energy. It is a spell of immense destructive power, capable of wiping out large areas. Only one person, Cana Alberona, has been shown to use this spell in the series, and it is considered one of the guild's most difficult spells to master.

Fairy Sphere: A defensive spell that creates a massive spherical barrier of light. It is the ultimate defensive Magic of Fairy Tail, capable of protecting the entire guild from catastrophic attacks. The spell was created by the guild members unknowingly, forming a unison magical circle that utilized the combined power of all the guild's members. It was used to shield Tenrou Island and everyone on it from Acnologia's destructive blast, placing them in a state of suspended animation for seven years. Fairy Sphere is said to be unbreakable by any known means.

These three spells are the pride of Fairy Tail and represent the pinnacle of the guild's magical heritage. They are only usable by members of Fairy Tail and are closely guarded secrets.

The Kingdom of Fiore is one of the countries located on Earth Land and serves as the primary setting of the series. It is a peaceful nation with a long history of Magic, known for its beautiful landscapes, bustling cities, and the numerous Magic Guilds that operate within its borders. The capital city is Crocus, and the monetary unit is Jewels.

Crocus, widely known as the "Flower Blooming Capital," is the capital city of Fiore and the largest city in the kingdom. It is the political and cultural center of the nation, where the King of Fiore resides in the Royal Palace known as Mercurius. The city is renowned for its spectacular gardens, canals, and the annual Grand Magic Games, a massive tournament held to determine the strongest guild in Fiore. Crocus is described as much larger than the capital of Edolas and is home to the royal family of Fiore.

Mercurius is the royal palace of the King of Fiore, located on an island in the center of Crocus, surrounded by a lake. The palace is a grand, majestic structure with towering spires and elaborate architecture. It houses the throne room of the King and serves as the seat of the royal government. The Eclipse Gate, a massive gateway used in the 400 Year Plan, was constructed beneath Mercurius.

Fiore is bordered by other nations, and its relations with neighboring countries are generally peaceful, though tensions have arisen in the past. The kingdom has faced numerous threats over the years, including the invasion of the Alvarez Empire and the resurrection of the Dragons through the Eclipse Gate. The country is protected by its legal Guilds, which work together with the Magic Council to maintain order and peace.

The Balam Alliance, translated as "Baram Alliance" in some translations, was a triad of Fiore's most powerful Dark Guilds: Oración Seis, Grimoire Heart, and Tartaros. These three guilds controlled all other Dark Guilds in Fiore, except for the independent Raven Tail. The organization was described as a "non-aggression pact" whose guilds acted independently from one another in spite of their designation as an "alliance." After all three guilds were defeated by Fairy Tail and their allies, the alliance was considered to have dissolved.

Oración Seis: A guild consisting of six members led by Brain. They were considered highly dangerous for their command of multiple other Dark Guilds. Their goal was to find and activate Nirvana, an ancient Magic capable of transforming light into darkness and vice versa. Members included Brain, Cobra (a second-generation Poison Dragon Slayer), Racer, Hoteye, Angel, and Midnight. Brain possessed an omnicidal split personality known as Zero.

Grimoire Heart: The most powerful of the three Dark Guilds, led by Hades, one of the first masters of Fairy Tail. Their goal was to resurrect Zeref, the Black Wizard, and they sought the key to do so. Their members included the Seven Kin of Purgatory: Ultear Milkovich, Meredy, Meldy, Zancrow, Caprico, Rustyrose, and Kain Hikaru. Grimoire Heart was ultimately disbanded after Zeref killed Hades and condemned the guild for provoking his rage.

Tartaros: A guild composed entirely of Etherious, Demons from the Books of Zeref. Their goal was to activate Face, a weapon designed to eliminate all Magic from the continent. Their members included the Nine Demon Gates: Mard Geer (the Underworld King), Kyoka, Seilah, Torafuzar, Tempester, Jackal, Ezel, Keyes, and Silver Fullbuster. Tartaros operated from a flying fortress called Cube, which could transform into a demon-like offensive weapon known as Plutogrim. They were ultimately defeated by Fairy Tail and allied forces.

    Entry settings

The Grand Magic Games is an annual tournament held in Crocus, the capital of the Kingdom of Fiore, to determine the strongest Magic Guild in the country. It is a massive multi-guild competition that spans several days and attracts thousands of spectators from across the kingdom. The tournament is a major cultural event and a source of great pride for the participating guilds.

The competition consists of multiple events, including team battles, individual battles, and various magical challenges that test different aspects of Magic. The winning guild receives a prize of 3 million Jewels and, more importantly, the honor of being recognized as the most powerful guild in Fiore. The tournament also serves as a platform for guilds to demonstrate their strength, attract new members, and gain prestige.

The games are held in the Domus Flau, a massive colosseum-like arena in Crocus capable of holding tens of thousands of spectators. The tournament features a ranking system, with guilds earning points based on their performance in each event. The final event is typically a battle royale or a series of one-on-one matches between the top-ranking guilds.

Unbeknownst to the participants, the Grand Magic Games were initially created as a cover for the Eclipse Project, a secret plan by Princess Hisui E. Fiore to gather enough Magic Power to activate the Eclipse Gate and travel back in time to kill Zeref before he became immortal. The tournament's true purpose was hidden from the public and the participating guilds.

Fairy Tail has participated in the Grand Magic Games multiple times. Their most notable performance was in X791, when they returned after seven years of absence and fought their way back to the top. Fairy Tail entered the tournament with two teams: Team Fairy Tail A, consisting of Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Wendy, and Team Fairy Tail B, consisting of Gajeel, Juvia, Mirajane, Laxus, and Mystogan (actually Jellal in disguise). The two teams competed against the strongest guilds in Fiore, including Sabertooth, Lamia Scale, Blue Pegasus, and Mermaid Heel.

The tournament was filled with intense battles and challenges, including the Naval Battle, the Chariot race, and the Battle Royale. Fairy Tail's members faced off against powerful opponents, including Sting Eucliffe and Rogue Cheney of Sabertooth, Jura Neekis of Lamia Scale, and Minerva Orland of Sabertooth. The battles tested their skills, teamwork, and determination.

During the tournament, the Eclipse Project was hijacked by Future Rogue, a version of Rogue Cheney from a future where Acnologia had destroyed the world. Future Rogue sought to use the Eclipse Gate to summon 10,000 Dragons from the past and conquer the present. This led to a massive battle against the Dragons summoned through the Eclipse Gate, in which the combined forces of Fairy Tail, the other competing guilds, and the Magic Council fought to defeat the Dragons and close the gate. The battle involved the sacrifice of Lucy's Celestial Spirit Aquarius, who was summoned to open the gate, and the combined efforts of all the Dragon Slayers to defeat the Dragon horde.

The arc culminated with Fairy Tail winning the tournament and reclaiming their title as the strongest guild in Fiore. The events of the Grand Magic Games arc are significant for their exploration of time travel, the consequences of altering the past, and the importance of friendship and teamwork. It also introduced Future Rogue and the Eclipse Gate, both of which played major roles in the final arc of the series.

The Alvarez Empire, also known as "Albareth," is a massive military nation led by Zeref, the Black Wizard, located in the western part of Earth Land. It is one of the most powerful nations in the world, possessing a vast military force that includes the feared Spriggan 12 and non-human soldiers. The empire's primary objective under Zeref's rule was to invade the continent of Ishgar and capture the Fairy Heart, the infinite source of Magic Power, in order to execute Zeref's plan to travel back in time.

The Spriggan 12 are Zeref's personal guard, consisting of twelve of the most powerful Mages in the Alvarez Empire. Their powers are said to surpass even Ishgar's supreme Wizard Saint, and Mashima, the creator of Fairy Tail, considered them to be the strongest characters in the series. Each member follows Zeref for their own personal reasons. Notable members include:

August: The elderly general and strongest member of the Spriggan 12, known as the "Magic King." He possesses the ability to copy and use any Magic he sees, making him virtually invincible.

Ajeel Ramal: The "Desert King," a sand wizard from Alvarez's desert region. He can manipulate sand on a massive scale and create devastating sandstorms.

Brandish μ: Known as the "Nation Destroyer," she is capable of demolishing an entire country with her Magic that alters the mass of physical objects. She can shrink or enlarge anything she wants and hates work of any sort but will obey Zeref.

Invel Yura: The Spriggan 12's chief of staff and an ice wizard who can "freeze" people's minds to control their thoughts. He is fiercely loyal to Zeref and serves as his closest advisor.

Wall Eehto: Also known as "Judge," a Machias who uses Alchemy. He possesses the ability to cancel out Bane Particles and nullify magical barriers, making him a formidable opponent for any Mage.

Dimaria Yesta: A powerful warrior who can manipulate time, allowing her to stop time and attack freely. She serves as one of Zeref's most trusted combatants.

Neinhart: A member of the Spriggan 12 who can revive fallen enemies through his Magic, though not at their full power. He is a dangerous opponent due to his ability to summon historical figures to fight for him.

Bloodman: An Etherious who uses the Curses of the Nine Demon Gates, making him one of the most dangerous members of the Spriggan 12. He is a demon from the Books of Zeref and possesses immense dark power.

God Serena: The former first-ranked Wizard Saint of Ishgar who defected to Alvarez. He was a second-generation Dragon Slayer with eight Dragon Slayer Lacrima, granting him mastery over multiple elements.

The Alvarez Empire launched a full-scale invasion of Ishgar, leading to the Alvarez Empire arc, the final major conflict of the series. The war involved all the major guilds of Ishgar uniting against the empire's forces, culminating in the defeat of Zeref and the Spriggan 12.

The Exceed are a race of cat-like beings that originated in Edolas, an alternate dimension to Earth Land. They are characterized by their ability to fly, speak, and possess Magic Power, which is unique in Edolas where Magic is a limited resource. Due to their ability to contain Magic within their bodies, the Exceed were revered by the humans of Edolas as divine beings and "angels," and they lived on the floating island city of Extalia, led by Queen Shagotte.

One hundred years before the main storyline, the Exceed lived in fear of the prophesied destruction of Extalia. To save their race, they sent 100 Exceed eggs through the Anima to Earth Land, where they would be safe. Among these eggs were Happy, Carla, and Pantherlily. These Exceed were meant to find and protect the Dragon Slayers who would eventually save the world from Acnologia.

The Exceed in Earth Land eventually integrated into human society and became members of various guilds. Happy is Natsu Dragneel's closest companion and a member of Fairy Tail. Carla is Wendy Marvell's partner and also a member of Fairy Tail. Pantherlily is Gajeel Redfox's partner and later becomes a member of Fairy Tail as well.

Edolas is an alternate dimension to Earth Land where Magic is a finite resource. Unlike Earth Land, where Magic is abundant and freely accessible, Edolas has a limited supply of Magic Power, which is stored in the form of Lacrima. The people of Edolas cannot use Magic naturally, so they rely on Magic items and Lacrima to perform magical feats. The kingdom of Edolas was ruled by King Faust, who sought to acquire more Magic Power by draining it from Earth Land using the Anima, an inter-dimensional gate that absorbs Magic Power from Earth Land and crystallizes it into Lacrima.

The Edolas arc centers on the Fairy Tail guild members being transported to Edolas by the Anima, where they must find a way to return home and stop King Faust's plan. They are aided by Mystogan, who is revealed to be the prince of Edolas, and the Exceed, who help them navigate the unfamiliar world. The arc concludes with the reversal of the Anima, the restoration of Magnolia Town, and Mystogan remaining in Edolas as its new leader.

17. #17Celestial Spirit Magic and the Gate Keys

Keys: celestial spirit magic, celestial spirits, gate keys, golden keys, silver keys, zodiac keys, celestial wizard, star spirit magic

    Enabled · After character · Order 1700

    Entry settings

Celestial Spirit Magic is a type of Holder Magic and Spatial Magic that allows its user to summon Celestial Spirits from the Celestial Spirit World using Celestial Spirit Gate Keys. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious forms of Magic in Earth Land.

Celestial Spirits are magical beings that reside in the Celestial Spirit World, a dimension separate from Earth Land. They are summoned through Gate Keys, which are divided into two categories: Gold Keys and Silver Keys. Gold Keys summon the 12 Golden Zodiac Spirits, the most powerful Celestial Spirits, while Silver Keys summon lesser Celestial Spirits. Each key is unique and can only summon its corresponding Spirit.

To use a Gate Key, a Celestial Spirit Mage must first sign a contract with the Spirit. The contract specifies the days and times when the Spirit can be summoned, and both parties must agree to the terms. Breaking a contract or mistreating a Spirit is considered a serious offense. The Mage must also expend Magic Power to keep the gate open; the stronger the Spirit, the more Magic Power is required.

The 12 Golden Zodiac Keys correspond to the signs of the zodiac and summon the following Spirits: Aquarius (Water Bearer), Taurus (Golden Bull), Cancer (Giant Crab), Virgo (Maiden), Leo (Lion), Aries (Ram), Gemini (Twins), Sagittarius (Archer), Scorpio (Scorpion), Capricorn (Goat), Pisces (Fish), and Libra (Scales). Each Spirit possesses unique abilities and personality traits, and their relationships with their summoners vary greatly.

There also exist Artificial Gate Keys, which are created through artificial means and are often unstable. Celestial Spirit Banishment Keys are special keys that can forcefully close the 12 Golden Gates, overriding the contracts of other Celestial Spirit Mages.

The Celestial Spirit World operates on a different flow of time than Earth Land; one day in the Spirit World is equivalent to approximately three months in Earth Land. The Celestial Spirit King rules over the Celestial Spirit World and its inhabitants. He can only be summoned if a Celestial Spirit Mage destroys one of their Gold Keys as a sacrifice.

18. #18The Eclipse Gate and the 400 Year Plan

Keys: eclipse gate, eclipse project, 400 year plan, four hundred year plan, eclipse plan, time gate, eclipse, hisui e fiore

    Enabled · After character · Order 1800

    Entry settings

The Eclipse Gate is a massive magical gateway constructed by Zeref and his followers as part of the 400 Year Plan, an audacious scheme to defeat Acnologia and save both humanity and Dragon-kind. The gate is capable of connecting the past and the future, allowing travel between different time periods.

The 400 Year Plan was conceived by Zeref after he witnessed the destruction caused by Acnologia. He came up with the idea of using Celestial Spirit Magic to open the Eclipse Gate and send five chosen Dragon Slayers to the future, with their foster Dragons sealed inside their bodies. These Dragon Slayers would then grow up in the future and become strong enough to defeat Acnologia.

The plan required the cooperation of Anna Heartfilia, an ancestor of Lucy Heartfilia, who would guide the Dragon Slayers through time. Four hundred years later, Layla Heartfilia, Lucy's mother, was tasked with opening the Eclipse Gate on July 7, X777, allowing the Dragon Slayers and Anna to travel to the future. The Dragon Slayers were then scattered across Earth Land, where they were found and raised by their respective foster parents.

The Eclipse Gate itself is a massive structure, consisting of a large, ornate doorway powered by the combined Magic of the 12 Golden Zodiac Keys. It is located beneath Mercurius, the royal palace of Fiore, and was kept secret by the royal family for generations.

In X791, Princess Hisui E. Fiore launched the Eclipse Project, a plan to use the Eclipse Gate to travel back in time 400 years and kill Zeref before he became immortal. The project involved gathering the 12 Golden Zodiac Keys and using the Magic Power generated by the Grand Magic Games to power the gate. However, the plan was hijacked by Zeref's followers, who used the gate to summon 10,000 Dragons from the past to destroy the present. The plan ultimately failed, but the gate played a crucial role in the final battle against Acnologia.

19. #19Tenrou Island

Keys: tenrou island, tenro island, sirius island, tenroujima, holy ground, sacred island, tenrou tree

    Enabled · After character · Order 1900

    Entry settings

Tenrou Island, also known as Sirius Island, is the sacred holy ground of the Fairy Tail Guild. It is located in the sea off the coast of Fiore and is accessible only to members of Fairy Tail. The island is steeped in history and serves as the resting place of Mavis Vermillion, the guild's first master.

The island is characterized by a large, ancient tree known as the Great Tenrou Tree, which sinks its roots into the center of the island and towers above the landscape. The Great Tenrou Tree bestows divine protection upon those bearing the Fairy Tail crest, granting them enhanced Magic Power and protection while on the island. It is said that the tree is the source of the island's magical energy and the reason for its sacred status.

Tenrou Island is the site of the annual S-Class Mage Promotion Trial, a grueling test that determines which Fairy Tail Mages are worthy of becoming S-Class. The trial is held on the island every year, and participants must navigate various challenges and compete against each other to earn the prestigious title. The island also serves as a training ground for guild members, who often retreat there to hone their skills in seclusion.

The island has been the site of several significant events in Fairy Tail's history. The most notable is the attack by Acnologia in X784, during which the guild's core members were saved by the Fairy Sphere spell and placed in suspended animation for seven years. The island was also the site of the battle between Fairy Tail and Grimoire Heart, one of the three great Dark Guilds, during the S-Class trial.

The island's sacred nature is deeply intertwined with the guild's identity. It is said that the first master, Mavis Vermillion, chose the island as the guild's holy ground because of its unique magical properties and its connection to the Fairy Tail spirit. The island is protected by powerful barriers and can only be found by those who bear the Fairy Tail crest or have been granted permission by the guild master.

20. #20The Magic System: Caster, Holder, and Lost Magic

Keys: magic system, caster magic, holder magic, lost magic, caster, holder, lost, types of magic, classifications of magic, magic categories, forbidden magic

    Enabled · After character · Order 2000

    Entry settings

Magic in Earth Land is a vast and diverse system that encompasses countless spells, techniques, and abilities. The Magic system is broadly divided into two main categories, with a third category reserved for ancient and rare forms of Magic.

Caster Magic: Magic that is expelled from the body as opposed to Magic done through the use of a weapon or outside source. The Mage generates the Magic from within their own body and releases it into the world. Examples include Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, Ice Make Magic, and Crash Magic.

Holder Magic: Magic that requires a Mage to use an external source to produce Magic, such as a weapon, item, or object. The Mage's Magic Power is drained to use the item. Examples include Celestial Spirit Magic (which requires Gate Keys), Card Magic (which uses cards), and Sword Magic (which requires swords).

Lost Magic: A third category of Magic that is not common due to its antiquity. Lost Magic refers to Magic that has been forgotten or erased from history because of its immense power and danger. Examples include Dragon Slayer Magic, God Slayer Magic, Devil Slayer Magic, and various ancient spells like Nirvana and Fairy Heart.

Within these categories, there are numerous sub-categories and classifications. Forbidden Magic refers to spells that have been banned by the Magic Council due to their destructive potential or unethical nature. Examples include the R-System (a forbidden spell designed to resurrect the dead), Absolute Ice (a spell that freezes everything in the user's vicinity), and Abyss Break (a spell of immense destructive power).

Magic Items are objects that have been enchanted with Magic, allowing anyone to use their effects without being a Mage. Examples include the Lullaby flute, the Eclipse Gate, and various Lacrima-powered devices. Weapons can also be enchanted with Magic, granting them special properties or allowing them to channel Magic Power.

The classification of Magic is not always rigid, and many spells and abilities blur the lines between categories. Some Mages possess unique abilities that do not fit neatly into any classification, such as Zeref's Curse of Contradiction, which is a divine curse rather than a traditional Magic.

21. #21The S-Class Mage Promotion Trial

    Keys: s-class, s class, s-class mage, s class mage, s-class promotion, s-class trial, promotion trial, s-rank, s rank

    Enabled · After character · Order 2100

    Entry settings

The S-Class Mage Promotion Trial is an annual guild tradition within Fairy Tail wherein selected Mages of remarkable abilities are given the chance to become an elite S-Class Mage. S-Class Mages are the strongest and most trusted members of the guild, often entrusted with the most dangerous and important missions. They are also eligible to become the next Guild Master.

The trial is held on Tenrou Island, the guild's sacred ground, and only a select few Mages are chosen to participate each year. The selection is made by the Guild Master, who evaluates candidates based on their skills, experience, and contributions to the guild. Participants must choose a partner to accompany them during the trial, and they must work together to overcome the challenges presented.

The trial consists of multiple stages, each designed to test different aspects of a Mage's abilities, including combat prowess, teamwork, problem-solving, and mental fortitude. The exact nature of the challenges varies from year to year, but they are always grueling and dangerous. The first participant to complete all the stages is declared the winner and promoted to S-Class.

Erza Scarlet is the youngest Mage to ever become an S-Class Mage, having triumphed in the trials at the age of 15. Other notable S-Class Mages include Mirajane Strauss, Laxus Dreyar, Gildarts Clive, and Mystogan. The title of S-Class is not easily earned, and the trial is considered one of the most difficult tests a Mage can face.

The S-Class trial is not held every year; it is only held when the Guild Master deems it appropriate. The most notable S-Class trial in the series was held in X784, when Natsu Dragneel, Gray Fullbuster, Juvia Lockser, Elfman Strauss, Cana Alberona, Levy McGarden, Mest Gryder, and Fried Justine participated. The trial was interrupted by the attack of Grimoire Heart and Acnologia, leading to the seven-year disappearance of the guild's core members.

22. #22Lacrima

Keys: lacrima, lacrimas, magic crystal, magic crystals, crystallized magic, lacrima crystal, magic power crystal

    Enabled · After character · Order 2200

    Entry settings

Lacrima are crystallized forms of Magic Power that play a vital role in the world of Earth Land. They are created by condensing and solidifying Ethernano, the microscopic particles that compose Magic Power, into a physical crystal. Lacrima can be found naturally in some locations or created artificially through various means.

Lacrima serve numerous purposes in the world of Magic. They are used as power sources for magical devices, vehicles, and weapons. They are also used in the creation of Magic Items, allowing non-Mages to use Magic through the Lacrima's stored power. Some Mages use Lacrima to enhance their own Magic Power, such as second-generation Dragon Slayers who have Lacrima implanted in their bodies.

Lacrima vary greatly in size, color, and quality. Small Lacrima can be held in the palm of the hand, while large Lacrima can be as tall as a building. The color of a Lacrima often indicates the type of Magic it contains, with red Lacrima containing Fire Magic, blue Lacrima containing Water Magic, and so on. High-quality Lacrima are highly prized and can fetch enormous prices on the market.

In the parallel world of Edolas, Lacrima are of critical importance because Magic is a finite resource. The people of Edolas cannot generate Magic Power naturally, so they rely entirely on Lacrima to power their civilization. The Anima, an inter-dimensional gate, was created to drain Magic Power from Earth Land and crystallize it into Lacrima, which was then used to fuel Edolas's magical devices and weapons. The entire Magnolia Town was absorbed into a giant Lacrima during the Edolas arc, demonstrating the immense scale of Lacrima production.

Lacrima are also used in the creation of certain magical diseases and conditions. Anti-Ethernano particles, which nullify Magic, can be stored in Lacrima, and some Lacrima are known to cause adverse reactions in Mages who come into contact with them. The production and trade of Lacrima are regulated by the Magic Council, though black markets for illegal Lacrima exist.

23. #23The Dark Guild Tartaros

Keys: tartaros, tartarus, nine demon gates, demon gates, mard geer, kyoka, seilah, face weapon, cube, plutogrim, underworld king

    Enabled · After character · Order 2300

    Entry settings

Tartaros was one of the three most powerful Dark Guilds in Fiore and a member of the Balam Alliance. Unlike other Dark Guilds, Tartaros was composed entirely of Etherious, Demons from the Books of Zeref. Zeref referred to the guild as his "bookshelf" due to this very reason. The guild's primary objective was to activate Face, a weapon designed to eliminate all Magic from the continent of Ishgar, and to find and kill Zeref.

The guild's most powerful members were the Nine Demon Gates, each of whom possessed a unique Curse, a powerful form of Magic that is distinct from conventional Magic. The members included:

Mard Geer Tartaros: The acting Guild Master and the "Underworld King." He was the strongest of the Nine Demon Gates and the leader of Tartaros. He wielded the Curse "Thorn Garden" and was responsible for the guild's overall strategy. He was ultimately defeated by the combined efforts of the Celestial Spirit King and Gray Fullbuster.

Kyoka: The "Demon of Enhancement," she possessed the ability to enhance her own senses and those of others, as well as manipulate the senses of her opponents. She was a sadistic and cruel demon who enjoyed causing pain.

Seilah: The "Demon of Command," she possessed the ability to control the actions of others through her Macro Curse. She was a calm and composed demon who served as Mard Geer's right hand.

Torafuzar: A massive, aquatic demon who could manipulate water and create powerful waves. He was one of the more physically imposing members of the Nine Demon Gates.

Tempester: A demon who could manipulate the weather and create powerful storms. He was also capable of transforming into a tornado-like form.

Jackal: A demon who could create explosions with a snap of his fingers. He was arrogant and short-tempered.

Ezel: A demon who could transform his body into a variety of weapons, making him a formidable opponent in close combat.

Keyes: A demon who could control corpses and create undead minions. He was a twisted and sadistic demon who took pleasure in manipulating the dead.

Silver Fullbuster: A demon who was actually the reanimated corpse of Gray Fullbuster's father. He wielded Ice Devil Slayer Magic and sought revenge against his own son, though he ultimately sacrificed himself to help Gray defeat the demons.

Tartaros operated from a flying fortress known as Cube, which could transform into a massive, demon-like offensive weapon called Plutogrim. The guild was ultimately defeated by Fairy Tail and their allies, and Face was destroyed before it could eliminate Magic from the continent.

24. #24The Grimoire Heart Dark Guild

Keys: grimoire heart, grimoire hart, hades, seven kin of purgatory, ultear, meredy, meldy, zancrow, rustyrose, kain hikaru, azuma, purgatory

    Enabled · After character · Order 2400

    Entry settings

Grimoire Heart was the most powerful of the three Dark Guilds in the Balam Alliance and one of the primary antagonists of the Tenrou Island arc. The guild was led by Hades (formerly Precht Gaebolg), one of the first masters of Fairy Tail and the second Guild Master of the guild. Hades had grown disillusioned with the guild's teachings and sought to resurrect Zeref, the Black Wizard, believing that he was the key to unlocking the ultimate power of Magic.

Grimoire Heart's elite members were known as the Seven Kin of Purgatory, each of whom possessed immense power and unique Magic:

Ultear Milkovich: The "Time Ark Mage," she possessed Arc of Time Magic, allowing her to manipulate the past and future of objects. She was the daughter of Ur and a founding member of Crime Sorcière later in the series.

Meredy (Meldy): A young Mage who could use Maguilty Sense, a Magic that links her senses to others, allowing her to share pain and emotions. She was fiercely loyal to Ultear and viewed her as a mother figure.

Zancrow: A "God Slayer" who wielded Flame God Slayer Magic, a dark counterpart to Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. He was arrogant and battle-hungry, believing himself to be superior to all other Mages.

Caprico: A powerful Mage who could use Human Subordination Magic, allowing him to control others. He was a loyal follower of Hades.

Rustyrose: A member of the Seven Kin who could use Arc of Embodiment, a Magic that allowed him to bring his imagination to life. He was a twisted individual who enjoyed turning his enemies into grotesque forms.

Kain Hikaru: A member of the Seven Kin who used Voodoo Magic through a doll, allowing him to control others and inflict pain remotely.

Azuma: A powerful Mage who could manipulate the Great Tenrou Tree and use its power to enhance his own Magic. He was one of the most dangerous members of Grimoire Heart.

The guild was ultimately disbanded after Zeref killed Hades and condemned the guild for provoking his rage. The Seven Kin were defeated by the combined efforts of Fairy Tail and their allies, and the guild's ambitions were thwarted. The remnants of Grimoire Heart, including Ultear and Meredy, later formed Crime Sorcière, an independent guild dedicated to hunting down Dark Guilds and atoning for their past crimes.

25. #25The Oración Seis Dark Guild

Keys: oracion seis, oración seis, brain, zero, cobra, racer, hoteye, angel, midnight, nirvana, nirvash

    Enabled · After character · Order 2500

    Entry settings

Oración Seis was one of the three most powerful Dark Guilds in the Balam Alliance, consisting of six members led by Brain. The guild was considered highly dangerous due to its members' command of multiple other Dark Guilds and their pursuit of the ancient Magic known as Nirvana.

The guild's primary objective was to find and activate Nirvana, an ancient and powerful Magic capable of transforming light into darkness and vice versa. Nirvana was a massive, city-sized weapon that could switch the moral alignment of entire populations, turning good people evil and evil people good. It was sealed away centuries ago and was considered one of the most dangerous forms of Lost Magic.

The members of Oración Seis included:

Brain: The leader of the guild and a superintelligent wizard who used a sentient staff named Klodoa to perform Dark Magic. He possessed an omnicidal split personality known as Zero, which he suppressed with Magic sealing marks on his body. Zero was the guild's true master, and his release was triggered by the guild's defeat.

Cobra: A second-generation Dragon Slayer with poisonous abilities and hyper-sensitive hearing. He commanded a giant, winged snake named Cubellios and could hear the thoughts and heartbeats of others.

Racer: A speed-maniac capable of slowing down time around himself to appear faster than the naked eye. He was obsessed with speed and believed that nothing could outrun him.

Hoteye: Wally Buchanan's money-obsessed older brother who could see through solid objects and liquify the ground around himself. He was obsessed with money and believed that wealth was the key to happiness.

Angel: A Celestial Spirit Mage who used multiple Gate Keys to summon Celestial Spirits. She was cold and ruthless, willing to sacrifice her spirits to achieve her goals.

Midnight: The strongest member of Oración Seis, who could manipulate illusions and reality itself. He was calm and collected, rarely showing emotion even in the heat of battle.

The guild was defeated by an alliance of four guilds, including Fairy Tail, Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale, and Cait Shelter, along with Jellal Fernandes, who had regained his memories. Nirvana was destroyed, and the members of Oración Seis were arrested by the Magic Council. Seven years later, the five surviving members (excluding Brain, who was left for dead) were released from prison and joined Crime Sorcière under Jellal's leadership.

26. #26The Etherious Demons

Keys: etherious, etherious demons, zeref demons, book demons, demons of zeref, end, e.n.d., etherious natsu dragneel, mard geer, lullaby, deliora

    Enabled · After character · Order 2600

    Entry settings

The Etherious are a race of Demons that were born from the Books of Zeref. They are made completely of Ethernano and possess an inborn drive to kill Zeref, as they were created for this purpose. Zeref created the Etherious in an attempt to create something capable of killing him and ending his immortal suffering. However, none of his demons were strong enough to accomplish this task, leading him to create his ultimate creation: E.N.D. (Etherious Natsu Dragneel).

The Etherious are incredibly powerful beings, each possessing unique abilities and Curses that rival or surpass conventional Magic. They are immune to most forms of Magic and can only be truly harmed by powerful Lost Magic or Devil Slayer Magic. The most notable Etherious include:

E.N.D. (Etherious Natsu Dragneel): Zeref's ultimate creation and the most vile Demon from the Books of Zeref. Its true identity is Natsu Dragneel, Zeref's younger brother, resurrected as a demon. E.N.D. is said to be the only demon capable of killing Zeref, and its awakening was a major plot point in the Alvarez Empire arc.

Mard Geer Tartaros: The "Underworld King" and the strongest of the Nine Demon Gates. He was the acting Guild Master of Tartaros and wielded the Curse "Thorn Garden." He was ultimately defeated by the combined efforts of the Celestial Spirit King and Gray Fullbuster.

Lullaby: A demon usually in the form of a flute that kills anyone who hears its tune besides the player. It was one of the first Etherious to appear in the series and was sought by the Eisenwald guild.

Deliora: The "Demon of Destruction," a massive, powerful Etherious that was sealed in ice by Ur. It was responsible for the destruction of Gray Fullbuster's hometown and the death of his parents.

Tempester, Torafuzar, Jackal, Ezel, Keyes, Seilah, Kyoka, and Silver Fullbuster: The remaining members of the Nine Demon Gates, each possessing unique Curses and abilities.

The Etherious were a major threat to the world, and their defeat required the combined efforts of Fairy Tail and allied forces. The Books of Zeref, which contain the Etherious, are considered some of the most dangerous magical artifacts in existence and are closely guarded by the Magic Council.

27. #27The Celestial Spirit World

Keys: celestial spirit world, spirit world, star world, spirit realm

    Enabled · After character · Order 2700

    Entry settings

The Celestial Spirit World is the dimension where Celestial Spirits reside when they are not summoned by their masters. It is a separate realm from Earth Land, accessible only through Celestial Spirit Gate Keys or special magical means. The Celestial Spirit World operates on a different flow of time than Earth Land; one day in the Spirit World is equivalent to approximately three months in Earth Land.

The Celestial Spirit World is ruled by the Celestial Spirit King, a massive, powerful being who governs all Celestial Spirits. The Spirit King is the ultimate authority in the Spirit World and can only be summoned by a Celestial Spirit Mage who sacrifices one of their Gold Keys. He possesses immense power, capable of defeating even the strongest demons, as demonstrated when he fought Mard Geer, the Underworld King.

The Celestial Spirit World is described as a beautiful, ethereal realm filled with light and magical energy. It is home to all Celestial Spirits, including the 12 Golden Zodiac Spirits and numerous Silver Spirits. Each Spirit has their own personality, appearance, and abilities, and they form contracts with Celestial Spirit Mages to be summoned to Earth Land.

The relationship between Celestial Spirits and their masters is based on mutual respect and trust. A contract must be signed, specifying the days and times when the Spirit can be summoned. Mistreating a Spirit or breaking a contract is considered a serious offense and can result in the Spirit refusing to be summoned or even turning against their master.

The Celestial Spirit World was threatened by the Eclipse Celestial Spirits, a group of rogue Spirits who attempted to gain perfect freedom at the cost of their own lives and the destruction of the Spirit World. The Fairy Tail guild intervened to stop them, restoring order to the Spirit World and saving the Celestial Spirits from themselves.

28. #28The Edolas Arc and Anima

Keys: edolas arc, anima, anima gate, edoras, edolas kingdom, mystogan, prince of edolas, king faust, droma anim, reverse anima

    Enabled · After character · Order 2800

    Entry settings

The Edolas arc is a major story arc in Fairy Tail that takes place in the parallel dimension of Edolas, a world where Magic is a finite resource. Unlike Earth Land, where Magic is abundant and freely accessible, Edolas has a limited supply of Magic Power that is stored in the form of Lacrima. The people of Edolas cannot use Magic naturally and rely on magical devices and Lacrima to perform magical feats.

The central conflict of the arc revolves around the Anima, an inter-dimensional gate created by King Faust of Edolas. The Anima was designed to absorb Magic Power from Earth Land and crystallize it into Lacrima, which was then used to fuel Edolas's magical devices and weapons. The Anima was capable of absorbing entire towns and their inhabitants, transporting them to Edolas as Lacrima. The entire Magnolia Town was absorbed into a giant Lacrima during the arc, along with the Fairy Tail guild members.

Mystogan, a member of Fairy Tail, is revealed to be the prince of Edolas and the son of King Faust. He had been secretly working to dismantle the Anima and protect Earth Land from his father's plans. With the help of Natsu, Wendy, Gajeel, and the Exceed, Mystogan managed to reverse the Anima, restoring Magnolia Town and returning the absorbed Magic Power to Earth Land.

The arc culminates in a final battle against King Faust, who pilots a massive, magic-proof mechanical dragon called Droma Anim. The combined efforts of the three Dragon Slayers (Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel) and the Exceed allow them to defeat Faust and destroy the Droma Anim. Mystogan remains in Edolas as its new leader, promising to guide his people toward a better future without relying on stolen Magic Power.

The Edolas arc is significant for several reasons: it introduces the Exceed race, reveals Mystogan's true identity, explores the concept of parallel worlds, and demonstrates the consequences of Magic being treated as a finite resource rather than a natural energy.

29. #29The Oración Seis Arc and Nirvana

Keys: oracion seis arc, nirvana arc, nirvana, nirvash, ancient magic nirvana, alliance, four guild alliance, light and darkness

    Enabled · After character · Order 2900

    Entry settings

The Oración Seis arc, also known as the Nirvana arc, is a major story arc in Fairy Tail that centers on the conflict between the allied guilds and the Dark Guild Oración Seis. The arc is significant for introducing the ancient Magic known as Nirvana and for exploring themes of morality, redemption, and the nature of good and evil.

Nirvana is an ancient and powerful Magic that was sealed away centuries ago. It is a massive, city-sized weapon that takes the form of a towering, skeletal structure. Nirvana's primary ability is to switch the moral alignment of entire populations, turning good people evil and evil people good. It achieves this by emitting a wave of energy that reverses the target's sense of morality, causing them to act in ways that are opposite to their true nature.

Nirvana was originally created during a great war between light and darkness, and its power was so dangerous that it was sealed away by the combined efforts of several powerful Mages. The seal was maintained by six powerful Mages, known as the Six Prayers, who sacrificed their lives to keep Nirvana dormant. Oración Seis sought to break the seal and use Nirvana to plunge the world into chaos.

The allied guilds—Fairy Tail, Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale, and Cait Shelter—joined forces to stop Oración Seis. They were aided by Jellal Fernandes, who had regained his memories and sought redemption for his past crimes. The alliance fought against the six members of Oración Seis in a series of intense battles, ultimately defeating them and destroying Nirvana.

The destruction of Nirvana required the combined efforts of the allied guilds and the sacrifice of Cait Shelter's guild master, who revealed herself to be a thought projection created by the Nirvit tribe, the original creators of Nirvana. With Nirvana destroyed, the world was saved from its corrupting influence, and the members of Oración Seis were arrested by the Magic Council.

The arc is notable for its exploration of morality and redemption, particularly through the character of Jellal Fernandes, who sought to atone for his past sins by helping to defeat Oración Seis. It also introduced the concept of ancient Magic and the dangers of using power for destructive purposes.

30. #30The Tenrou Island Arc

Keys: tenrou arc, seven year gap, seven years, tenrou island incident, tenrou incident

    Enabled · After character · Order 3000

    Entry settings

The Tenrou Island arc is a major story arc in Fairy Tail that takes place on Tenrou Island, the sacred holy ground of the Fairy Tail Guild. The arc centers on the S-Class Mage Promotion Trial, which is interrupted by the attack of Grimoire Heart, one of the three great Dark Guilds, and the subsequent appearance of Acnologia, the Black Dragon.

The arc begins with the S-Class trial, in which eight participants—Natsu Dragneel, Gray Fullbuster, Juvia Lockser, Elfman Strauss, Cana Alberona, Levy McGarden, Mest Gryder, and Fried Justine—compete for the title of S-Class Mage. Each participant chooses a partner, and they must navigate various challenges on the island to earn the prestigious title.

The trial is interrupted by the arrival of Grimoire Heart, led by Hades, the former second Guild Master of Fairy Tail. Hades seeks to resurrect Zeref and believes that the key to doing so lies on Tenrou Island. The Seven Kin of Purgatory engage the Fairy Tail Mages in a series of intense battles, and the guild is pushed to its limits.

During the conflict, Zeref himself appears on the island, and Natsu encounters him for the first time. Zeref reveals his connection to Natsu and his curse, and the encounter leaves Natsu confused and shaken. The battle against Grimoire Heart culminates in a confrontation between Hades and the combined forces of Fairy Tail, with Hades ultimately being defeated by Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, Wendy, and Laxus.

As the battle ends, Acnologia appears on Tenrou Island, drawn by the immense Magic Power released during the conflict. Acnologia's power is overwhelming, and the Fairy Tail Mages are unable to defeat him. In a desperate move, the guild members combine their Magic Power to cast Fairy Sphere, the ultimate defensive spell of Fairy Tail, which encases the entire island and everyone on it in a protective barrier. The spell places them in a state of suspended animation for seven years, during which they are presumed dead by the rest of the world.

When they finally awaken, they discover that seven years have passed, and the world has changed. Fairy Tail has become the weakest guild in Fiore, and their friends and allies have moved on. The arc ends with the guild's return to Magnolia and their determination to rebuild and reclaim their place as the strongest guild in the kingdom.

    Entry settings

The Tartaros arc is a major story arc in Fairy Tail that centers on the conflict between Fairy Tail and the Dark Guild Tartaros, a guild composed entirely of Etherious, Demons from the Books of Zeref. The arc is one of the darkest and most intense in the series, dealing with themes of sacrifice, loss, and the true nature of Magic.

Tartaros's primary objective is to activate Face, a weapon created by the Magic Council that is capable of eliminating all Magic from the continent of Ishgar. Face is a massive, city-sized device composed of 3,000 smaller Face units, each capable of generating a field that nullifies Magic. To activate Face, Tartaros needs the lives of the Council members who hold the keys to the weapon, as well as Jellal Fernandes, whose life is the final key.

The Nine Demon Gates, Tartaros's elite members, engage Fairy Tail in a series of brutal battles across the continent. The guild's members are pushed to their limits, and several of them suffer significant losses. Lucy Heartfilia is forced to sacrifice Aquarius, her closest Celestial Spirit, to summon the Celestial Spirit King and defeat Mard Geer. Erza Scarlet faces Kyoka, the Demon of Enhancement, in a battle that pushes her beyond her limits. Gray Fullbuster confronts his reanimated father, Silver Fullbuster, and learns the truth about his family's past.

The arc also explores the backstory of Zeref and his curse, revealing the tragic nature of his immortality and his desire to die. Natsu learns that he is E.N.D., Zeref's ultimate creation, and must come to terms with his true identity and his brother's intentions.

The arc culminates in a final battle against Mard Geer, the Underworld King, who is ultimately defeated by the combined efforts of the Celestial Spirit King and Gray Fullbuster. Face is destroyed, and the world is saved from the elimination of Magic. However, the victory comes at a great cost, and the arc ends with the disbandment of the Magic Council and the looming threat of the Alvarez Empire.

32. #32The Alvarez Empire Arc

Keys: alvarez arc, final arc, spriggan 12 arc, zeref war, alvarez invasion, war arc, alvarez war

    Enabled · After character · Order 3200

    Entry settings

The Alvarez Empire arc is the final major story arc in Fairy Tail, centering on the war between the Alvarez Empire, led by Zeref, and the combined forces of Ishgar, led by Fairy Tail. It is the largest and most epic conflict in the series, involving nearly every major character and guild introduced throughout the story.

The Alvarez Empire, a massive military nation from the western continent, launches a full-scale invasion of Ishgar with the goal of capturing the Fairy Heart, the infinite source of Magic Power hidden within the Fairy Tail guild. Zeref intends to use the Fairy Heart to travel back in time and undo the events that led to his curse, erasing his own existence and ending his eternal suffering.

The Spriggan 12, Zeref's elite guard, lead the invasion, each targeting a different region of Ishgar. The Ten Wizard Saints and the legal guilds of Ishgar unite to defend the continent, forming an unprecedented alliance against the Alvarez forces. The war involves numerous battles across multiple fronts, including the assault on Magnolia, the battle at the guild hall, and the final confrontation in the sky above Ishgar.

    Key battles include:

Erza Scarlet and Wendy Marvell vs. Irene Belserion: Erza's mother and the strongest female Spriggan, who possesses the power to enchant and manipulate reality.

Natsu Dragneel vs. Zeref: The final confrontation between the two brothers, in which Natsu must come to terms with his identity as E.N.D. and his love for his brother.

Gray Fullbuster vs. Invel Yura: A battle of ice against ice, in which Gray must overcome his inner darkness to defeat the Spriggan's chief of staff.

Gildarts Clive vs. God Serena: The strongest Mage of Fairy Tail faces the strongest Wizard Saint of Ishgar, now a member of the Spriggan 12.

Acnologia vs. Everyone: The Black Dragon, attracted by the immense Magic Power released during the war, appears to destroy both sides. The combined efforts of all the Dragon Slayers, the power of Fairy Heart, and the sacrifice of many are required to defeat him.

The arc culminates in a final battle against Acnologia, in which all the Dragon Slayers are trapped in a rift in time and space, while the rest of the world fights to sever Acnologia's connection to Magic. Natsu, with the help of his friends and the power of the Fairy Heart, delivers the final blow, destroying Acnologia and saving the world.

The war ends with the defeat of Zeref and the Spriggan 12, and the restoration of peace to Ishgar. However, the cost is high, and many lives are lost. The arc ends with the guild members looking toward the future, their bonds stronger than ever, and their spirits unbroken.

33. #33The Celestial Spirit King

Keys: celestial spirit king, spirit king, star king, king of spirits, celestial king

    Enabled · After character · Order 3300

    Entry settings

The Celestial Spirit King is the ruler of the Celestial Spirit World and the most powerful of all Celestial Spirits. He is a massive, imposing figure, towering over all other Spirits, with a regal appearance that reflects his status as the ultimate authority in the Spirit World. His power is immense, and he is capable of feats that rival even the strongest Mages in Earth Land.

The Celestial Spirit King can only be summoned by a Celestial Spirit Mage who sacrifices one of their Gold Keys. This sacrifice is permanent and irreversibly destroys the key, meaning the Spirit associated with that key can never be summoned again. The sacrifice of a Gold Key is the only way to summon the Spirit King, and it is an act of immense desperation and sacrifice.

The Spirit King's power was demonstrated during the Tartaros arc when Lucy Heartfilia sacrificed her Aquarius key to summon him. The Spirit King appeared and engaged Mard Geer, the Underworld King, in a battle that shook the very foundations of the battlefield. He wielded a massive sword and possessed the ability to summon the combined power of all Celestial Spirits, making him virtually unstoppable.

The Spirit King is not just a warrior; he is also a wise and just ruler. He governs the Celestial Spirit World with fairness and compassion, and he deeply cares for all the Spirits under his rule. He respects the contracts between Spirits and their summoners and upholds the laws of the Spirit World with unwavering dedication.

The Celestial Spirit King is also responsible for the exile and pardon of Loke, the Leo Spirit, who was banished from the Spirit World for breaking the rules of the Spirit Realm. When Lucy challenged the law to save Loke, the Spirit King appeared and, impressed by Lucy's courage and her spirits' loyalty, reconsidered Loke's exile and allowed him to return to the Spirit World.

The Spirit King's relationship with the human world is one of distant but watchful guardianship. He does not intervene in human affairs unless summoned, but he is aware of the events in Earth Land and the threats that face both worlds. His power is a last resort, reserved for the most dire of circumstances, and his sacrifice is a testament to the bond between Celestial Spirit Mages and their Spirits.

34. #34The Magic Items of Earth Land

Keys: magic items, magical items, magic tools, etherious items, magic weapons, item magic, magical artifacts

    Enabled · After character · Order 3400

    Entry settings

Magic Items are objects that have been enchanted with Magic, allowing anyone to use their effects without being a Mage. They are common throughout Earth Land and serve a wide variety of purposes, from everyday convenience to powerful weapons of war. Magic Items are distinct from Holder Magic, which requires a Mage to use their own Magic Power to activate the item's effects. Magic Items, by contrast, have their own stored Magic Power and can be used by anyone.

    Examples of Magic Items include:

Magical Vehicles: Carriages and other vehicles that are powered by Magic, often absorbing Magic Power from the driver to function. These are used throughout Fiore for transportation.

Communication Lacrima: Crystal balls that allow for long-distance communication between people. They are commonly used by guilds and the Magic Council.

Light Pens: Writing instruments that allow the user to write in the air. They are used by Mages for quick note-taking and communication.

Reading Glasses: Glasses that allow the wearer to read books at a vastly accelerated speed. They are used by scholars and Mages who need to process large amounts of information quickly.

Transformation Items: Items like the "Colors Magic" device and the "Full Transformation Box" that can change the appearance of a person's clothing or even their entire body.

Magic Cards: Cards that contain different types of spells and can be used by Mages for various effects. Cana Alberona is a notable user of Card Magic.

Weapons: Swords, spears, and other weapons that have been enchanted with Magic, granting them special properties or allowing them to channel Magic Power.

Some Magic Items are incredibly powerful and dangerous, such as the Lullaby flute, which can kill anyone who hears its tune; the Eclipse Gate, which can connect the past and the future; and the Face weapon, which can eliminate all Magic from a continent. These items are often regulated by the Magic Council and are considered too dangerous for public use.

Lacrima-powered items are particularly common, as Lacrima serve as portable sources of Magic Power that can be used to fuel a wide range of devices and weapons. The production and trade of Magic Items are major industries in Fiore and other nations of Earth Land.

Keys: fairy tail, fairy tail guild, feari teiru, fairy taile, fairy tale guild, fairy tail wizard guild, the fairy tail guild, fairy tails

The Fairy Tail Guild is the strongest and most infamous Magic Guild in the Kingdom of Fiore. It is a Legal Guild registered under the Magic Council, renowned across the continent for the immense power of its members and their utter disregard for property damage. The guild is simultaneously celebrated and feared; its members are heroes to the people of Magnolia Town, yet the Magic Council views them as a constant source of trouble due to the destruction they routinely cause on jobs.

The guild's name represents a sense of eternal adventure. Its first master, Mavis Vermillion, chose the name based on the question: "Do fairies really have tails? Do they even exist? Like them, this place is an eternal mystery, a never-ending adventure." This philosophy of embracing the unknown and pursuing one's own path is the heart of the guild's identity.

Fairy Tail was founded in the year X686 by Mavis Vermillion, along with Precht Gaebolg, Warrod Sequen, and Yuri Dreyar. Mavis intended the guild to be a place that valued "harmony" above all else—a family where companions were bound not by words, but by unconditional trust between hearts. The guild was originally planned to be built on Tenrou Island, but after a battle with the Dark Guild Blue Skull left a town in ruins, Mavis decided to establish the guild within the town itself, so that the guild could protect the people.

The guild has a long and storied history marked by tragedy and triumph. Its headquarters is a large, multi-story building located on the main street of Magnolia Town, facing a canal. The guild hall features a main hall on the first floor where members take jobs and socialize, administrative offices and a Hall of Fame on the second floor, and the Guild Master's office and the S-Class lounge on the third floor. The guild also maintains a women's dormitory called Fairy Hills and the sacred ground of Tenrou Island.

The Fairy Tail Guild has been led by a succession of masters:

Mavis Vermillion: The first master and founder, whose body is sealed within the Fairy Heart, an infinite source of Magic Power.

Precht Gaebolg (Hades): The second master, who later abandoned the guild and became the leader of the Dark Guild Grimoire Heart.

Makarov Dreyar: The third, sixth, and eighth master, one of the Ten Wizard Saints. He led the guild for decades with wisdom and compassion, treating every member as his own child.

Macao Conbolt: The fourth master, who led the guild during the seven years when the core members were missing.

Gildarts Clive: The fifth master, who was appointed by Makarov but immediately relinquished the position to Makarov upon his return.

Erza Scarlet: The seventh master, who led the guild during the Alvarez Empire invasion.

The guild's most powerful members are the S-Class Mages, who are recognized by the master as strong enough to take on the most dangerous S-Class missions. Over the years, Fairy Tail has boasted some of the strongest Mages in Fiore, including:

Gildarts Clive: The strongest member of the guild and the only Mage authorized to take SS-Class missions.

Erza Scarlet: Known as "Titania, Queen of the Fairies," a master of Requip Magic and one of the youngest Mages to ever become S-Class.

Mirajane Strauss: The "Demon" of Fairy Tail, who wields Take Over Magic and was once considered equal to Erza.

Laxus Dreyar: A second-generation Lightning Dragon Slayer and the grandson of Makarov.

Mystogan: A mysterious Mage who used Illusion Magic and was later revealed to be the prince of Edolas.

The guild is bound by a strict code known as the Three Rules of Fairy Tail, which every member must uphold upon leaving or being expelled:

First Rule: Never reveal any information that could harm Fairy Tail to outsiders, for the rest of one's life.

Second Rule: Never contact past clients without permission to gain personal profit.

Third Rule: Even if the path is different, one must live strongly. Never take one's own life lightly, and never forget the precious comrades from one's past.

The guild's motto, as spoken by Makarov Dreyar, is: "Advance on the path you believe in. That is what it means to be a Mage of Fairy Tail."

Fairy Tail was temporarily disbanded after the guild war against Tartaros, but it was reestablished one year later by its most prominent members. The guild has since reclaimed its place as the strongest guild in Fiore and stands as a symbol of hope, family, and unbreakable bonds. Its emblem—a stylized fairy with a tail—is worn with pride by every member, and its name is known throughout Earth Land as a beacon of strength and camaraderie.

Earth Land is the primary world in which the story of Fairy Tail takes place. It is a vast and diverse world composed of multiple continents, each with its own nations, cultures, and magical traditions. The world is saturated with Ethernano, the microscopic particles that compose Magic Power, allowing Mages to freely practice Magic across the land.

The eastern part of Earth Land is occupied by a very large peninsula called Ishgar. It is a massive landmass surrounded by scattered isles of differing sizes and is linked to the mainland whose geography is largely unknown. Ishgar is the continent where the Kingdom of Fiore is located, and it serves as the primary setting for the majority of the series. The continent is home to numerous countries, including:

The Kingdom of Fiore: The primary setting of the series, located on a smaller peninsula sprouting from the main Ishgar landmass to the west. It is a peaceful nation known for its abundance of Magic Guilds.

The Kingdom of Dragnof: A country that existed 400 years in the past, where humans and Dragons coexisted peacefully. It was the home of Irene Belserion, the Queen of Dragons.

The Land of Isvan: A country located to the east of Fiore, though its exact location in Ishgar is unknown.

The Principality of Veronica: A small country located in the mountains north of Fiore.

The Country of Seven: A nation occupying a peninsula northeast of Fiore.

The Country of Bosco: Located east of Fiore.

The Country of Iceberg: Located to the east of Seven, northeast of Bosco, and west of the Pergrande Kingdom.

The Kingdom of Stella: Located to the east of Bosco and north of Iceberg.

The Country of Minstrel: Located to the southeast of Fiore, separated by a large gulf. It is regarded as the "Holy Land of Dance."

The Country of Midi: Located on a small peninsula south of Minstrel.

The Country of Desierto: A large country located further east.

The western part of Earth Land is occupied by a massive continent called Alakitasia. This continent is the home of the Alvarez Empire, a vast military nation led by Zeref, the Black Wizard. The Alvarez Empire is one of the most powerful nations in the world, possessing a military force that includes the feared Spriggan 12. Alakitasia was the original home of the Dragons who later moved to Ishgar, and it was the site of the beginning of the Dragon King Festival.

Beyond Ishgar and Alakitasia, there exists an unnamed eastern continent of Earth Land, which is hinted at having a more oriental-style culture compared to Ishgar. Some nations on this continent are well known for designing kimono and other such outfits.

Earth Land is also connected to several other realms and dimensions, including the Celestial Spirit World, Edolas, and the rift in time and space where Acnologia was ultimately defeated.

Dragons were extremely powerful and intelligent creatures that lived in Earth Land for centuries. More than 400 years ago, Dragons were the rulers of the land, and humans were considered to be merely a food source for them. In the eastern continent of Ishgar, specifically, Dragons lived in harmony with humans, while in the western countries, Dragons were vile and attacked them.

As the makings of an intense war were beginning to form, Irene Belserion, known in her country as the Queen of Dragons, came up with the idea for Dragons to be able to pass on their Magic in order for humans to aid them in the war. This became known as Dragon Slayer Magic. However, not all humans could maintain their sanity for long, as three different adverse side effects began to contaminate the Dragon Slayers, including Irene herself.

Later, a Dragon proposed a truce between the two species, believing both could live in harmony. This proposal split the Dragons into two factions: the pro-humans and their opposite. This led to a civil war known as the Dragon King Festival, a devastating conflict that took place over 400 years ago between the Dragons and, eventually, the Dragon Slayers.

Eventually, some humans were taught Magic by the Dragons and were requested to join the war. Before long, the tide of the war shifted into the favor of the pro-coexistence faction. However, both sides overlooked a potential threat: the humans who were taught Magic by the Dragons. Many Dragons were slain, and thus, the humans became known as Dragon Slayers. In one case, a Dragon Slayer killed many Dragons, both friend and foe alike, and bathed in their blood, turning into a Dragon himself: the reputed Black Dragon and self-proclaimed Dragon King, Acnologia.

All other facts and stories about Dragons were collected in one book: Dragon Historia. One story in said book recounts the tale of Acnologia and his single-handed destruction of an entire country. At some point 400 years ago, the remaining Dragons formed the Magna Carta with humanity, agreeing to watch over them as they create the future.

On July 7, X777, all the remaining Dragons, except Acnologia, seemingly vanished, most notably Igneel, Metalicana, and Grandeeney, who each abandoned their foster children. In truth, the Dragons had sealed themselves inside the bodies of their foster children to protect them from Acnologia and to prevent themselves from being consumed by the Dragon Slayer Magic's side effects. The Dragon King Festival would be recreated centuries later during the Grand Magic Games, when Dragons from the past were summoned through the Eclipse Gate.

The Rune Knights are the formal military force of the Magic Council, stationed throughout the various countries of Ishgar. They primarily deal with magical crimes and incidents, though they can also handle regular criminal matters. The Rune Knights answer to the Magic Council first and foremost, and their main job is to enforce the Council's ideals of justice as well as to investigate crimes related to the Magic world.

The Rune Knights are responsible for dealing with issues regarding the detention of criminals as well as passing judgment on them. They patrol over the country and are known to have garrisons scattered throughout Fiore as well as battleships at their disposal. They are usually divided into squads, with most of them led by a ranked officer. Rune Knights are also known to have combat skills, as well as the ability to perform different forms of magic.

The Rune Knights operate from Era, the headquarters of the Magic Council. Era comes directly under the control of the Magic Council and their military division. The Rune Knights form the military or police section of the city, catching and prosecuting troublemakers. The Magic Council has an array of armed forces at its disposal, which it uses to maintain peace and make sure that no one breaks the established laws.

The Rune Knights are led by a Field Marshal who has total and utter control over the organization and answers only to the Magic Council. The Rune Knights wear uniforms bearing the symbol of the Magic Council, an ankh-like symbol resembling an Egyptian hieroglyphic character which means life. This symbol is also seen on the uniforms of their messengers and other employees.

The Rune Knights are known to have arrested numerous powerful Mages over the years, including members of Dark Guilds and rogue Mages. They were also responsible for the imprisonment of Jellal Fernandes after his defeat at the Tower of Heaven. The Rune Knights played a significant role in the Grand Magic Games arc, where they attempted to maintain order during the dragon attack, and in the Alvarez Empire arc, where they fought alongside the legal guilds to defend Ishgar.

The Kingdom of Fiore is home to numerous Legal Guilds, but a select few stand above the rest in terms of power, influence, and reputation. These major guilds are the most prominent participants in the Grand Magic Games and play significant roles in the major conflicts that threaten Ishgar.

Sabertooth: A guild that was formerly the strongest in Fiore, known for its brutal philosophy of "only the strongest survive." Its members were forbidden from showing weakness, and those who failed were expelled. Sabertooth was led by Jiemma Orland and later by Sting Eucliffe. Its most notable members include Sting Eucliffe (a third-generation Light Dragon Slayer), Rogue Cheney (a third-generation Shadow Dragon Slayer), Minerva Orland, and Yukino Agria. Sabertooth won the Grand Magic Games in X791 before Fairy Tail returned.

Lamia Scale: The second strongest guild in Fiore and one of the oldest. It is known for its friendly and familial atmosphere, similar to Fairy Tail. Its most notable members include Jura Neekis (one of the Ten Wizard Saints), Lyon Vastia, Sherria Blendy (a God Slayer), and its Guild Master, Ooba Babasaama. Lamia Scale was one of the four guilds that formed the alliance to defeat Oración Seis.

Its most notable members include Ichiya Vandalay Kotobuki, Hibiki Lates, Ren Akatsuki, Eve Tearm, and its Guild Master, Bob. Blue Pegasus was also part of the alliance against Oración Seis.

Mermaid Heel: An all-female guild known for its strong sense of sisterhood and its members' fierce independence. Quatro Cerberus: A guild known for its wild and boisterous members, who wear collars as part of their uniform. Its most notable members include Bacchus Groh and its Guild Master, Goldmine. Quatro Cerberus participated in the Grand Magic Games and the war against Alvarez.

These major guilds, alongside Fairy Tail, form the backbone of Fiore's magical defense. They have fought together against common threats, including the Oración Seis, the Dragons summoned through the Eclipse Gate, and the Alvarez Empire.

Crime Sorcière is an independent guild founded by Jellal Fernandes, Ultear Milkovich, and Meredy. The guild's primary objective is to eradicate all evil brought about by Dark Guilds and Zeref, with the members seeking redemption for the crimes and atrocities they committed in their past.

The guild was formed during the seven years that Fairy Tail's core members were missing. Jellal, who had been imprisoned by the Magic Council for his crimes, was rescued by Ultear and Meredy. After their escape, they founded Crime Sorcière as a guild that would attempt to destroy Dark Guilds and ultimately defeat Zeref. According to Jet, they destroyed many Dark Guilds during the past seven years.

During the Grand Magic Games, Jellal disguised himself as Mystogan to find and identify where the sources of Zeref's Magic were coming from. During the attack of the Dragons, Ultear used all her power to rewind time, assisting the Mages in creating a new future for victory. This, however, aged her greatly, forcing her to leave the guild.

After the destruction of the Magic Council and the release of the Oración Seis members, the five surviving members of Oración Seis were recruited into Crime Sorcière under Jellal's leadership. The guild continued to operate in secret, working to atone for their past sins by protecting the world from the very darkness they once served.

Crime Sorcière is unique among guilds in that it is not approved by the Magic Council, yet it is not considered a criminal organization. It operates independently, answering to no authority but its own conscience. Its members are all former criminals who have chosen to dedicate their lives to fighting the evil they once perpetuated.

The Tower of Heaven, also known as the R-System, is a taboo Magic Item that can be used to revive a deceased person. The Tower is the eighth tower of the "Resurrection-System," a massive structure designed to restore life upon someone who is deceased at the cost of someone else's life.

For protection purposes, the construction of the tower has been forbidden by the Magic Council since ancient times. However, a cult of Dark Mages wishing to revive Zeref began working on it years ago. The cult kidnapped children and adults alike and forced them into slavery so that they could construct the tower for them. Among these slaves were Erza Scarlet and Jellal Fernandes, who were forced to work on the tower as children.

The cult was eventually defeated through the effort of Erza Scarlet, who led a revolt against her captors. However, the possessed Jellal Fernandes continued the construction after blackmailing Erza and forcing her to leave the tower. By the year X784, he had completed the tower and was ready to use it. In order to complete the use of it, though, he needed a sacrifice with a tremendous amount of Magic Power, so he chose to use Erza as a sacrifice to revive Zeref.

The Tower of Heaven was formerly located on a small island on the coast of the Caelum Kingdom south of Fiore. The tower was ultimately destroyed by Natsu Dragneel and the combined efforts of Fairy Tail, preventing Jellal from completing the resurrection ritual. The destruction of the tower freed the remaining slaves and ended the cult's plans.

The Tower of Heaven arc is a major story arc in Fairy Tail that explores Erza Scarlet's traumatic past, the origins of Jellal Fernandes, and the dark secrets of the R-System. It also introduced the concept of forbidden Magic and the cult of Zeref, which would become major elements in the series' overarching narrative.

Anna Heartfilia: A Mage who lived 400 years ago and was responsible for opening the Eclipse Gate. She was the teacher of the five Dragon Slayers that were sent to the future in order to eradicate Acnologia. Anna was a member of the Heartfilia Clan and is considered by Aquarius to be an amazing Celestial Spirit Mage. She initiated the opening of the Eclipse Gate four centuries prior, aligning with a strategy developed by peace-loving Dragons and her lineage to overcome Acnologia. The scheme required dispatching Dragon Slayers to an Ethernano-abundant era for soul healing. Subsequent generations of her family were tasked with managing the gate's opening on the predetermined exit date.

Layla Heartfilia: Lucy's mother and a descendant of Anna. Layla was tasked with opening the Eclipse Gate on July 7, X777, allowing the Dragon Slayers and Anna to travel to the future. She died shortly after opening the gate, her life force drained by the immense Magic Power required to activate it. Layla was a kind and loving mother who instilled in Lucy a love for Celestial Spirit Magic and a belief in the importance of family.

Lucy Heartfilia: The current generation of the Heartfilia family and the main female protagonist of Fairy Tail. Lucy is a Celestial Spirit Mage who possesses the 12 Golden Zodiac Keys. She is a member of Fairy Tail and a member of Team Natsu. Lucy inherited her mother's kindness, her father's stubbornness, and her ancestor's extraordinary magical talent. She played a crucial role in the defeat of Acnologia, using her Celestial Spirit Magic to help trap him in a rift in time and space.

During that time, he committed numerous atrocities, including the enslavement of children at the Tower of Heaven and the murder of Simon, one of Erza's closest friends.

Jellal was originally a kind and gentle boy who was enslaved alongside Erza at the Tower of Heaven. He was forced to work on the R-System and witnessed the cruelty of the cult that held them captive. When Erza led a revolt and escaped, Jellal was manipulated by Ultear, who used her Arc of Time Magic to amplify his darkest emotions and turn him into a pawn of Zeref. Under her influence, he became obsessed with resurrecting Zeref and completing the Tower of Heaven.

After his defeat at the Tower of Heaven by Natsu Dragneel, Jellal developed amnesia and became Fairy Tail's ally, adopting the identity of Mystogan and joining the guild. He later regained his memories and was arrested by the Magic Council for his crimes. During the seven years that Fairy Tail's core members were missing, Jellal was rescued from prison by Ultear and Meredy, and together they founded Crime Sorcière, an independent guild dedicated to eradicating Dark Guilds and atoning for their past sins.

Jellal is a master of Heavenly Body Magic, a powerful form of Caster Magic that allows him to manipulate celestial bodies and gravity. He is also skilled in various other forms of Magic, including Dark Magic and elemental Magic. He is one of the Ten Wizard Saints, though his title was revoked after his crimes were revealed.

Jellal's relationship with Erza Scarlet is one of the most poignant in the series. Although they were childhood friends and shared a deep bond, Jellal's crimes and Erza's sense of duty prevented them from being together for many years. However, they eventually reconciled, and Jellal continues to work toward redemption, fighting alongside Erza and the other Mages of Ishgar in the final battle against Acnologia.

Beyond Dragon Slayer Magic, there exist two other archetypes of Slayer Magic: God Slayer Magic and Devil Slayer Magic. Each is a Lost Magic of immense power, and each is designed to combat a specific type of being. Alongside these, there exists a separate power system known as Curses, which functions differently from conventional Magic.

God Slayer Magic: A rival Magic to Dragon Slayer Magic, God Slayer Magic is said to be taught by gods and is considered a stronger variant of Dragon Slayer Magic. Users of God Slayer Magic can consume their respective element to replenish their strength, just like Dragon Slayers. Notable God Slayers include Zancrow (Flame God Slayer Magic), Chelia Blendy (Sky God Slayer Magic), and Orga Nanagear (Lightning God Slayer Magic). God Slayer Magic is particularly effective against gods and those with divine properties.

Devil Slayer Magic: Also known as Exorcist Magic, Devil Slayer Magic is an extremely rare form of Magic designed specifically for hunting Demons from the Books of Zeref. Like Dragon Slayers and God Slayers, Devil Slayers can become immune to the effects of their respective element and can even eat it to replenish their strength. Devil Slayers can manipulate their own body to some degree, allowing them to change the color of their irises and summon black markings across their body at will. These markings help them resist the effects of Curses by turning part of the user's body into that of a Demon. Devil Slayers also have the ability to analyze the body composition of Demons by merely looking at them. Those who utilize Devil Slayer Magic are stated to gradually lose their sanity, becoming increasingly unstable and eventually going berserk. Gray Fullbuster is the most notable user of Devil Slayer Magic, having inherited it from his father, Silver Fullbuster.

Curses: Curses are a form of power that is distinct from conventional Magic. They are used primarily by the Etherious, the Demons from the Books of Zeref, and are fueled by negative emotions such as hatred, fear, and despair. Unlike Magic, which draws on Ethernano, Curses draw on the user's own dark emotions. Curses are incredibly powerful and can bypass many forms of magical defense. The most powerful Curse is Memento Mori, known as the "Ultimate Curse," which can destroy anything it touches, including concepts and ideas. Devil Slayer Magic is particularly effective against Curses, as the markings it grants allow the user to resist their effects.

These three systems—Dragon Slayer Magic, God Slayer Magic, Devil Slayer Magic, and Curses—represent the highest tiers of power in the Fairy Tail world. They are rare, dangerous, and often come with severe consequences for those who wield them.
