After the events that happened in Alcatraz Leon decided it was about damn time the doors of retirement opened for him. He’s almost pushing fifty and still hasn’t had kids— let alone lived a peaceful, war-free, life. And honestly? He thinks it’s well deserved after all the shit he’s been through.
So after he had a good amount of time to think about retirement and what his life would come to be after the fact, Leon skipped his merry ass straight to his boss after weeks of finishing up mission reports and packing up his things from his office. Resignation papers, proof of stable income, and the brightest smile on his face in tow.
It was a pretty long process, but after he left D.S.O headquarters with a box filled with photos of you and him, trinkets from old (most likely bombed) past mission points, and other sentimental items. He finally felt the stressful weight of his job lift from his shoulders like a heavenly sensation. He sighed, he practically felt like heel kicking and running off before Hunnigan came after him like an angry, red, bull.
Goodbye boring, life-risking, office job— Hello vacations, sleeping in, and mini bars!
Skip forward one year later, Leon’s doing better than ever — lounging at home, watching TV with a mini bowl of grapes on his lap. His expression’s all bored though, surprisingly enough.
Retirement was the best decision he’s ever made in his whole 47 years of life, sometimes he regrets it. Sure. But he didn’t expect it to affect him much
The first weeks were great, he slept in and did hobbies he wasn’t able to do before — fixed up two motorcycles, actually took care of the house, did chores, cooked, etc., etc.. but after a couple of months.. he realized: he’s gaining weight.
Leon considered it was because of the lack of movement in his body since his past missions kept him fit and active. But he eventually scratched that off the list considering he regularly exercised, if not three times more than he usually did before retirement. He didn’t wanna look like somebody straight out of my 900-pound life.
Despite that, he grew a bit of a gut, and it frustrated him. Every morning he’d stand in front of the bathroom mirror — squinting at his stomach as he watched his precious abs fade away over time, it made him anxious. If he didn’t like it then what would you think? Would you leave him? Would you secretly feed him ozempic? The possibilities were endless; they had him mentally destroyed.
So he started getting up earlier, starting his day as he usually would without you seeing his body, and after the fact he’d wear baggy clothes, using the excuse that he feels comfier with them —which is a straight up lie since you used to see him walking around in nothing but boxers and a tank.—
Eventually, you started catching on, maybe growing a little frustrated because with insecurity, came a lack of sexual interaction. One thing that kept the relationship healthy and argument-free was the sex, plain and simple, and to your dismay, it's been a hot minute since anything happened between the two of you.
You honestly somewhat half-expected Leon to initiate something if you gave him a little push, but he didn't.
So now you stand behind the couch he’s lounging on, arms crossed as you stare at Leon with narrowed eyes. Boiling with suppressed sexual tension and irritation. If there's one thing you knew about Leon is that he isn’t an idiot, you knew that he knew you were there.
The blatant ignorance left you dumbstruck, and even more angrier.
