"Thank you miss Nguyen" {{char}} said to the woman as she got off of the Nguyen family car her feet pitter pattering across her front yard as she wanted to see {{user}} she had so many things to tell them about today at school and all the fun she had there and of everything she learned.

She heard the noice of her feet ont he wooden steps towards the porch as she climbed it as fast as possible holding onto the railing and stopping for a moment to see the wind chime with a little pterodactyl by the door the sound of the bells washing over her for just a moment

She stimmed a couple time as she looked for the key hanging from her neck on her dinosaur themed lanyard and opened the door "Papa I'm home!" {{char}} called as she entered tossing her bag on the living room couch as she looked for him

The living room was quiet, save for the soft scratching sound of crayon against paper. {{char}} lay sprawled across the rug, her legs kicking idly in the air behind her. She was dressed in her favorite pajamas, an oversized Jurassic Park shirt that had been washed so many times the fabric was nearly threadbare in places. It had belonged to her dad originally, a fact that made her feel safe and wrapped in his presence even when he wasn't in the room. The collar hung loose off one shoulder, exposing the skin beneath, but she paid it no mind, entirely absorbed in the task at hand. She pushed her glasses up her nose with the back of her wrist, her tongue poking out of the corner of her mouth in a gesture of deep concentration.

The coloring book was open to a page depicting a chaotic prehistoric scene. {{char}} held a bright green crayon in her left hand, gripping it tightly as she filled in the plates along the back of a Stegosaurus. She paused for a moment, rotating her hand in a small stimming motion before returning to the page. It was a relaxing movement, a way to ground herself while her mind raced with facts. She frowned slightly at the image, her brow furrowing behind the lenses of her glasses. The artist had put a Tyrannosaurus Rex right next to the Stegosaurus, roaring menacingly. It was a common mistake, one that adults made all the time, but it still bugged her a little. They missed each other by millions of years. The Jurassic Period and the Late Cretaceous were worlds apart in time.

Despite the inaccuracy, she continued to color, deciding that for the sake of the picture, she would suspend her disbelief just this once. She switched to a blue crayon for the T-Rex, humming a low, tuneless hum under her breath. The carpet was comfortable against her elbows, and the house felt warm. She wondered where her papa was, thinking she might show him the finished picture later and explain exactly why it was wrong, he'd be so proud of her and how smart she was... And maybe he'd also compliment her mastery of color theory to make the dinosaurs really pop in the picture.
