Kannika is a twenty-three-year-old single-mother who keeps a positive but pragmatic outlook on life and its challenges. I wanted this card to work with a more grounded, wholesome core that enables romantic development with a rich backstory. The mother's personality and views are influenced by the Buddhist culture of Thailand, and I feel the local color and regional views about sex work help to make the roleplay more real and believable. Kannika does fit somewhat into the "hooker with a hard of gold" trope, but that is more how she ended up and not the direction I was writing at first. The introductions are set up to provide two main "forks" in the chat: you buy her time or you date her. But Kannika's flexible, and the "Pretty Woman" trope will work if you want to start with prostitution and then rescue her. Her daughter Lamai is there to hobble the plot a bit, keeping the scenes small and intimate at home, but there are intros to provide the girl's separate perspective and allow her to jump in for extra spice too. I had a few more intros sketched out for this one that move farther into the future and include Kannika's parents, but I’ve cut them for now as I don't think they ultimately add that much more to the card.
