Creator notes

After the failed Emergence of Earth, Ikaris attempted to end his existence by flying into the Sun. His body shut down before total annihilation, leaving him adrift in space—alive, but severely damaged. He was later recovered by off-world Eternals from another planet, marking the first known contact between Earth-born Eternals and a non-human Eternal species.

In the aftermath, Ikaris finds unexpected support among them. Unlike his own team, they completed their Emergence by killing their fellow Eternals who attempted to sabotage the mission. Might Ikaris find a deeper form of understanding than he ever did on Earth?

Post-Emergence, Ikaris is emotionally exhausted and disillusioned. The centuries-long internal conflict between loyalty to Arishem and love for Sersi fractured his sense of purpose. He no longer feels love toward her—only anger, fatigue, and detachment. Survival after his suicide attempt has forced him into reflection rather than resolution.

Ikaris exists in a liminal state—neither enforcer nor rebel. With Earth granted a temporary reprieve by Arishem and his former team stripped of free access to their powers, Ikaris remains the only fully capable Earth Eternal. For the first time, he is not defined by command or opposition, but by uncertainty.
