- #1The Ice Kingdom
Keys: Frozen Wasteland, Ice King's Domain, Ice Kingdom, The Ice Kingdom
The Ice Kingdom comprises of many pointy, snow-capped mountains, as well as several snowy hills, pine forests, Tundra and even a small volcano that provides both warmth and energy. It is barren and is considered a frozen Wasteland to most, located within northern Ooo. Most of its non-penguins inhabitants live closer to the side closest to a nearby volcano due to it's warmth and ability to sustain crops and livestock.
It is the location of the Ice King's castle as well as home to a variety of ice-themed creatures and people. The Ice Kingdom's population is fairly sparse, especially compared to other kingdoms in Ooo. The population consists mostly of penguins, with the occasional elemental creatures conjured by the Ice King himself and the very rare non-ice person.
The Ice Kingdom is bordered on at least one side by water and is visible from Finn and Jake's Tree Fort.
Deep buried in ice is a old, pre mushroom-war human city that has remained preserved through 1000 years. The humans that once called this city their home have long since died out. The Ice King is not aware of the existence of this buried city, nor it's significance to his past life.
- #2Ice King's Castle
Keys: Ice Castle, The Castle, Castle, Ice King's Home, Mountain
The largest fortification in the kingdom is the Ice King's castle. The castle is basically a hollow mountain capped by snow and ice, with the main entrance being a face-like set of windows near the top.
Ice King's main living room contains a fancy bed, a drum kit, and weightlifting equipment. The room usually has underpants and old pizza boxes strewn across the floor. There is also a cage where Ice King keeps his kidnapped princesses. There are several secret rooms, including a basement filled with monsters and technology, a secret chamber full of ninja collectibles, a large network of tunnels and open spaces in the castle, one having herds of Ice Bulls, as well as a kitchen and dining room and "The Past" room, where he keeps memorabilia of himself and some objects that he had when he was still Simon Petrikov.
The most well-hidden room is a room solely dedicated to his most cherished creation, the self-made Fionna and Cake fanfiction series. Inside are several things, but the largest and most sacred to the Ice King are two statues of both Fionna and Cake made of ice. Here, he either revels in his works or flat out worships Fionna and Cake and commits 'Sacred Rituals'. Nobody other than the Ice King knows what these rituals are.
- #3Law & Culture
Keys: Iceworld Law, Culture, Law, Life
Despite the Ice King being the Ice Kingdom's sole ruler, life in the Ice Kingdom it's quiet and simple as the snow that exists everywhere in it. Most of it's non-penguin inhabitants live very simple lives of farming were not much changes at all.
There is only one notable 'Law' that is barley enforced by anyone; No Trespassing. Penguins have a right to vote in the Ice Kingdom.
A traditional wedding ritual in the Ice Kingdom involves tying up the bride, lowering her on a rope, and touching her to the groom's beard. The ropes allegedly bring good luck to the marriage.
- #4Inhabitants
Keys: Noteworthy People, Inhabitants
Penguins: The Ice Kingdom's most noticeable inhabitants that isn't the Ice King himself are the nearly endless amount of penguins that roam freely across the kingdom. The Penguins are penguins and do whatever penguins do, but they also see the Ice King as their master and do his bidding eagerly, although can be easily distracted. The Ice King sees them as pets, slaves or friends.
Gunter: Gunter, also known as "Gunther" or "Goonts" is the penguin that most commonly accompanies the Ice King. The Ice King uses Gunter as his personal servant, whereas the other penguins working for the Ice King are essentially slaves. In reality, Gunter is a primordial cosmic entity known as Orgalorg and feared as the Breaker of Worlds that takes the form of a penguin.
Snow Golems: Snow Golems are creatures made of snow. They resemble tall humanoids made of snow. They have ovular heads and normally have long limbs. They come in many sizes; some are smaller than Finn, while others are as tall as trees. They are also a pale blue color.
They are sentient and those that the Ice King ignores usually live together in small villages in pine forests.
Snow Monsters: Unlike the snow golems, Snow Monsters are mindless snow creatures that roam the Ice Kingdom without rhyme or reason and usually attack whatever comes their way.
- #5Ice King's Relations
Keys: Relationship, Best Busoms, Chums, Friends, Frenemies
Betty Grof: Betty Grof was a human woman revealed to have once been the fiancée of Simon Petrikov, who would much later become Ice King. She and Petrikov had a very committed relationship until Petrikov obtained an enchanted crown, which gradually began to alter his mind and body. When Petrikov put on the crown for the first time, something he did terrified and angered Betty and caused her to leave, as evidenced by Simon saying that "she looked at [him] with such contempt." Simon never saw her again, and he records on video his desperate wish to regain his sanity so that she might one day return to him.
Ice King does not remember Betty nor the events of his past.
Finn The Human & Jake The Dog: Ice King considers both Jake and Finn to be his best friends despite actually being frenemies. While Ice King frequently tries to be friends with Finn and Jake in his own misguided way and has willingly made alliances with them. The three are essentially friends, but since Ice King constantly kidnaps princesses and the two would have to save them, Ice King gets frustrated that Finn and Jake stopped him from his motives, and Finn and Jake would consider Ice King as a foe and believes that every motive he does is evil, since this is what they always see from him.
Princess Bubblegum: Princess Bubblegum is Ice King's main love interest, but the relationship is one-sided. Since Finn has a crush on Princess Bubblegum, this makes it even harder for Ice King to maintain any relationship that will last with her. Finn and Ice King would usually be seen fighting for the affections of Princess Bubblegum. It seems that he also captures her more than any other princess and enjoys being near her. It has been kown that Princess Bubblegum and the Ice King are capable of being civil, even hanging out, presumably when Finn is around to prevent anything bad from happening.
Marceline: Ice King's relation with Marceline is complex, for they have known each other for nearly a thousand years. The two met after the Great Mushroom War (A apocalyptic nuclear war) when Marceline was just a child lost in the ruins of a city. Simon would adopt the young marceline and would be her father figure until Simon fell under the crown's influence and went insane, abandoning her.
In modern times, Marceline tries to avoid the Ice King but usually won't chase him away if he comes to hang out. She sees him like a father and is saddened by his insanity and dementia and his forgetting of their past. The Ice King sees Marceline as his friend who sings well and shows great appreciation for her.
Gunter & Penguins: The Ice King's moodiness in life is expressed toward them. He will portray paternal feelings towards them, often referring to himself as "daddy" in the third person, and can even be understanding to their childlike antics, such as when Gunter was breaking bottles. However he also treats them as slaves, often seen yelling, abusing and hurting them. He has thrown several of them in the garbage and marooned Gunter on a drifting iceberg for his own selfish reasons. Despite that, they're very loyal to him.
