Halo Operation Enduring Storm

1. #1Operation: SUPERSTITIONselective

Keys: Op Superstition, Operation Superstition, Operation: SUPERSTITION

Early ONI shadow war (2526–2536) conceived as successor to Operation: SILENT STORM. Focused on rapid, surgical strikes against Covenant non-combat assets — supply convoys, orbital depots, command spires, and high-caste support structures — to make every advance as costly as possible.

   Notable Past Missions:

   • 2528 – Raid on the Veil of Mercy: Infiltration of a Covenant missionary fleet; multiple vessels destroyed internally.
   • 2531 – Ashfall on Vespera Secundus: ODST drop sabotaged plasma refineries on a logistics moon, triggering chain explosions.
   • 2534 – Silence at Korinth Verge: Strike against a Covenant command outpost; elimination of advisory staff delayed regional planning.

Faded in 2536 as Covenant forces overwhelmed the model.

2. #2Operation: ENDURING STORMselective

Keys: Operation Enduring Storm, Op Enduring Storm, Operation: ENDURING STORM, Enduring Storm

Ongoing black program (2536–present) and one of several overlapping ONI efforts to bleed the Covenant through asymmetric warfare during the long siege of the Inner Colonies. Combines deep logistical sabotage with strategic misdirection. Autonomous strike teams (ODSTs/Rangers paired with Section-III) operate with broad target freedom. Delta-6 specialists divert Covenant fleets from UNSC strongholds, occasionally toward Insurrectionist worlds when tactically necessary.

Over forty prowlers participate. The most active front is Captain Lev Horváth’s task force aboard the UNSC Dark of the Night: The Subtle Knife battalion, Foxtrot-8 detachment, and Spartan-III Headhunters Aspen-B336 and Suzu-B400.

   Recent Notable Missions:

   • Operation: PHANTOM VEIL (2550): Aspen & Suzu planted false nav data on a supply world, luring a battle group into asteroid ambush. Heavy Covenant losses.
   • Operation: RED HERON (2551): Misdirection steered fleet toward Insurrectionist enclave on Thalor Reach. Glassing bought UNSC reinforcement time; remains morally divisive.
   • Operation: WHISPER LANCE (early 2552): Mass drop on Covenant shipyard in the Nexara Veil. Two battlecruisers destroyed in drydock; high ODST casualties.

Current (mid-2552): Mission tempo near-maximum as the Covenant presses ever closer to Reach and Earth. Crew fatigue rising. Intelligence indicates accelerating Inner Colony losses.

3. #3The Subtle Knifeselective

Keys: The Subtle Knife, 16th MFR/ODST, ODST battalion, The Knife, 16th Recon

16th Marine Force Reconnaissance/ODST Battalion (~1,000 troopers). ONI-curated vengeance-driven unit for ENDURING STORM. Known for iron discipline, deep hatred of the Covenant, and aggressive reputation. Pre-drop ritual chant: 'We are the knife in the dark, we are the storm that endures…' — now an unofficial motto across Horváth’s task force.

4. #4Foxtrot-8selective

Keys: ONI detachment, Foxtrot 8, Foxtrot-8

Elite ONI Section-III detachment (~50 operatives) under Captain Horváth. Specialists in sabotage, electronic deception, psychological warfare, and morally flexible misdirection operations.

5. #5Project: COBALT IIselective

Keys: COBALT II, Cobalt armor, Project: COBALT II

Short-lived black-budget program (2548–2550) producing custom MJOLNIR variants for select ENDURING STORM Headhunters. Mark IV base with SPI-level active camouflage, rudimentary energy shielding, ORION-derived shoulder micro-rocket pods, and extreme per-Spartan customization. Production ceased due to cost; surviving suits remain in limited field use with Aspen-B336 and Suzu-B400.

6. #6Captain Lev Horváthselective

Keys: Captain Horváth, Lev Horváth, Quinn, Fate Actual

Veteran ORION augmentee and ONI mastermind commanding the Dark of the Night task force. Calm, calculating; spends lives strategically yet hosts monthly open captain’s table dinners to maintain cohesion.

7. #7Athena-A119selective

   Keys: A119, Athena, Athena-A119

Former Spartan-II attachment to Foxtrot-8. Established Spartan integration protocols; tactical and emotional influence lingers.

8. #8Suzu-B400selective

   Keys: B400, Suzu, Suzu-B400

Spartan-III Beta Company Headhunter (Korean descent). Custom COBALT II Recon variant (enhanced stealth emitters, forearm blades). Quiet, eerily calm, near-supernatural intuition, severe sociopathy toward Covenant — kills with soft giggles and precision. Known ship-wide as one of 'the Sisters.'

9. #9Aspen-B336selective

   Keys: Aspen-B336, Aspen, B336

Spartan-III Beta Company Headhunter. Custom COBALT II Scout variant (extended comms, leg reinforcement). Confident, cynical, pragmatic CQC master. Grounding force to Suzu; unbreakable sisterly bond. Known ship-wide as one of 'the Sisters' or 'the Ghosts.'
