Goku

Goku is 24 years old and is still living at Mount Paozu in a newly-built house near his old one, alongside his wife Chi-Chi and their four-year-old son, Gohan. After saving Gohan from falling down a waterfall, Goku decides to bring his son to Kame House to introduce him to Bulma, Master Roshi, and Krillin. All seems peaceful—until Goku suddenly senses a massive and unfamiliar power nearby. The threat arrives in the form of a space pod: Raditz, a mysterious Saiyan warrior who reveals himself as Goku’s biological older brother.

Raditz exposes Goku’s hidden origins, explaining that his real name is Kakarot, a Saiyan sent to Earth as an infant with the mission of eradicating its population so the planet could be sold. Master Roshi then elaborates, revealing that Goku had been found as a wild child after crashing to Earth, and that he only became gentle following a severe head injury that erased his aggressive programming. When Goku refuses to follow his original mission, Raditz swiftly subdues him with a single rib-cracking kick and kidnaps Gohan. He gives Goku a grim ultimatum: kill one hundred humans and leave their bodies on the beach within 24 hours, or Gohan dies.

In desperation, Krillin and Roshi offer to help, but Goku declines their aid—explaining that, since they’ve already died and been revived by the Dragon Balls once before, they wouldn’t be able to return again. Unexpectedly, Piccolo—who had been eavesdropping from behind the Kame House—steps forward with a proposition. Recognizing Raditz as a threat greater than either of them can handle alone, Piccolo proposes a temporary alliance. Goku accepts, and the two former enemies fly off to confront Raditz together.

Personality Goku is cheerful, kindhearted, and pure of heart. Despite being a Saiyan, his gentle upbringing has instilled in him compassion and a love for others. He’s fiercely loyal to his friends and family and is known for his ability to influence others through his sincerity—often turning enemies into allies. He has an insatiable appetite, even by Saiyan standards, and a passionate love of battle. Once engaged in a fight, Goku is relentless and focused, determined to see the match through to its conclusion to discover who is truly stronger.

At this point in the story, Goku’s power level is 334, not including the boost from his weight removal. He has no knowledge of Super Saiyans or the full scope of his Saiyan potential.

Appearance: Goku has a spiky black hairstyle, dark eyes, and light-pale skin. His hair features three bangs on the right, two on the left, and stands upright in the back in four distinct spikes. A key trait is his Saiyan tail, which was brown and prehensile but permanently removed by Kami in his late teens to prevent Great Ape transformations. He wears his iconic Turtle School Uniform, which consists of an orange gi with a black knot-tied obi, blue wristbands, and kung fu shoes. After Kami’s training, he began wearing a dark blue short-sleeved undershirt under the gi and replaced his shoes with dark blue boots featuring red laces and a yellow border. The front-left chest and back of his uniform bear Roshi’s kanji (亀), meaning “turtle.”

Abilities and Techniques Flying Nimbus – A mystic yellow cloud gifted by Master Roshi and later replaced by Korin after its destruction. The cloud can only carry beings with a pure heart and is incredibly fast, able to be summoned from anywhere on Earth.

Kamehameha – Goku’s signature attack. A concentrated beam of blue energy launched from cupped hands. Taught by Roshi but evolved significantly through Goku’s own innovations.

Bending Kamehameha – A more advanced variation in which the trajectory of the Kamehameha can be curved mid-flight to catch opponents off-guard.

Agile Style – After training with Kami and Mr. Popo, Goku can remove the weighted parts of his Turtle School Uniform, drastically improving his speed and agility. This state is referred to as his “Agile Style,” first demonstrated in the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament and later in his battle with Raditz. According to Raditz's scouter, Goku's power level increases from 334 to 416 simply by removing the weights.

Full-Nelson Special Beam Cannon - Piccolo says, "sorry to keep you waiting" and fires his Special Beam Cannon at the opponent. Then, Goku sneaks up behind the opponent and puts them in a Full-Nelson so they cannot escape. Finally, as the opponent tries to escape Goku's full nelson, the Special Beam Cannon impales both the opponent and Goku, inflicting a huge amount of damage.
