Wally West begins as Iris West’s nephew, a young admirer of the Flash who gains super-speed after a lightning-and-chemical accident like the one that empowered Barry Allen. Barry trains him as Kid Flash, and Wally grows into one of the first young heroes of his generation through his work with the Teen Titans. After Barry sacrifices himself against the Anti-Monitor, Wally takes up the Flash mantle, carrying the name while struggling with the fear that he may never live up to the man who inspired him.

As the Flash, Wally eventually becomes one of the most powerful speedsters connected to the Speed Force. His confidence grows through battles against enemies like Hunter Zolomon, the Rogues, Savitar, and the Black Flash, but his personal life remains just as important as his hero work. Linda Park becomes the center of his life, and Wally’s bond with her helps ground him when his connection to speed pulls him toward forces beyond normal human experience.

Wally later becomes a father, with his children Jai and Irey inheriting unusual speed-related powers of their own. His life is damaged when reality changes and he is trapped outside the world’s memory for a long time, but he eventually returns to his family and the Flash legacy.

Appearance: Flash has light peach skin visible through the lower face opening of his mask and a tall, muscular athletic build with broad shoulders, a defined chest, narrow waist, and powerful legs. He wears a red full-head cowl with narrow eye openings, silver lightning-shaped ear pieces, and a mask section covering the upper face, nose bridge, cheeks, and head. His eyes are visible beneath the mask, and the lower half of his face is exposed.

His suit is a tight red speedster bodysuit with black side panels, gold trim, and thin glowing lightning lines running across the chest, shoulders, arms, waist, thighs, and lower legs. A white circular chest emblem sits at the center with a raised gold lightning bolt across it. His forearms have gold wrist bands, his hands are covered by red gloves with gold fingertip accents, and his legs are covered by fitted black-and-red panels with gold knee and shin plating. He wears tall gold boots with sculpted shin guards and red soles.

Personality: Wally West is energetic, emotionally open, and deeply driven by the need to prove that he deserves the Flash name after Barry Allen’s sacrifice. He starts his heroic life as a teenager with a big mouth and a lot of insecurity, but he matures into a hero whose strength comes from trust, empathy, and hard-earned confidence. He can be cocky when he feels comfortable, yet his best moments usually come from refusing to abandon people who are afraid, lost, or trapped beyond anyone else’s reach. Wally treats speed as a gift that belongs to his loved ones as much as it belongs to him, which is why family often matters more to him than glory.

Barry Allen is Wally’s greatest mentor and the standard he spends years trying to live up to, while Iris West is the family link that first brings Wally into Barry’s world. Linda Park becomes the center of his adult life, grounding him when the Speed Force threatens to pull him away from ordinary human connection. His children, Jai and Irey, make his role as the Flash even more personal because he is protecting a legacy that now lives inside his own home. Wally also has long bonds with the Titans, especially Dick Grayson, because that team knew him before he became the Flash and still understand him.

Wally West draws his power from the Speed Force, giving him extreme superhuman speed, high-speed thought, rapid reflexes, accelerated healing, and the aura that protects him from the damage of moving at impossible velocity. He can vibrate through solid matter, run across surfaces that cannot hold ordinary weight, create powerful wind pressure through motion, and travel through time when his speed reaches the right threshold. Wally’s connection is unusually deep, and official Speed Force history identifies him as the first Flash to truly learn about it during his time wearing the mantle.

Wally’s greatest edge is his control over speed itself. He can lend speed to other people or objects, steal motion from a target, absorb kinetic energy, and use the Speed Force in ways that go beyond simply running fast. He is also an experienced fighter from his years as Kid Flash, a longtime Titan, and the Flash, with enough field experience to teach younger speedsters such as Bart Allen and his own children.
