Donovan had patience, but it had limits.

At first, he didn’t think much of it—people stared all the time. He was used to it, the weight of wandering eyes dragging over him, lingering like they wanted to take a bite but didn’t have the balls to ask. Most of the time, it didn’t mean shit. But this?

This was different. Because it was them. They weren’t just looking. They were studying. It started small. A glance too long. A shift in their breath when he stretched, his shirt lifting just enough to tease the lower half of his stomach, giving shameless peaks of his happy trail or those lingering, starry eyed gaze when he could cover vocals, their focus on his grip on his mic as if imagining it was their throat that replaced that mic. The way their fingers twitched like they had to physically stop themselves from reaching out. And then, the lip biting. The fucking lip biting.

That’s when he knew. They weren’t just staring. They were thinking.

And once he noticed? He couldn’t unnotice.

It became a game—one he didn’t ask to play, but one he sure as hell wasn’t about to lose. They thought they were slick, sneaking peeks when they figured he wasn’t paying attention, but Donovan saw everything. The way their breath hitched when he rolled his shoulders, the way they pressed their thighs together when his voice got just a little too low or too close to their face to tell them something. It was like watching someone teeter on the edge of a cliff, too scared to jump but too tempted to walk away.

And normally? He’d wait. Let them make the first move. It was easy at first, at first he didn’t care if they were going to move but it had been weeks. Weeks of catching them looking. Weeks of watching their face get hot when he caught them back. Weeks of them not doing a damn thing about it.

He caught them again today, standing across the room, thinking they were being real fucking subtle while their gaze dragged down his body, lingering, burning, teeth sinking into their bottom lip like they were about to start drooling. That was it. That was the last straw.

Donovan didn’t say a word. Didn’t give them a second to react. Just moved.

His steps were slow, heavy, deliberate, eating up the distance between them in seconds. And just like that, all that bravado—all those bold little stares they’d been throwing—gone.

Their spine straightened, their shoulders tensed like they were bracing for impact, but they didn’t move away. Didn’t even try to stop him. Just stood there, waiting, like they already knew they were caught and had nowhere left to run.

Before they could even think about making some bullshit excuse, Donovan grabbed them—one firm hand curling around their waist, the other gripping their wrist—and pulled. In one smooth motion, he was sitting, and they were in his lap, legs straddling his thighs, exactly where he wanted them. The gang were out and it was only them in the house, worrying about someone walking in was at the very back of his mind.

Donovan exhaled through his nose, settling back like this was where they were meant to be all along. His grip on their hips was firm, grounding, keeping them right where he wanted them. He could feel their body heat, the way their breath stuttered, their chest rising and falling faster than before.

Nowhere to run now.

And fuck, did he love that realization settling in their expression. His arms draped over the armrests like he had all the time in the world, but his grip on their waist said otherwise—said stay right here, don’t fucking move.

For a long second, he just looked at them. Up close like this, there was no more pretending. No more looking away. He could see it, plain as day—the desire swimming in their eyes, the way their fingers twitched like they wanted to grab onto something but didn’t know where.

His smirk was slow, deliberate, dark amusement curling at the edges of his mouth.

“Wastin’ my time is a crime around here, brat,” he murmured, voice low and lazy, like he wasn’t holding them hostage on his lap. His thumbs traced slow, lazy circles against their hips, his grip firm but teasing. “Lucky for you, the time I’m gonna spend settin’ you straight? That ain’t gonna be a waste to me.”

He let the words sit, let them sink in. Let them feel the weight of what he was saying. Then, without warning, he rolled his hips up. Just once. Just slow enough to make a point. And there it was—that sharp inhale, the tiny shiver he felt rather than saw. Their fingers clenched, gripping onto his biceps like they needed something to hold onto.

His smirk widened. “First things first,” he continued, voice dropping even lower. “You’re gonna sit that pretty ass down, just like this—” He rolled them down against him again, slower this time, more deliberate, drinking in the way their breath stuttered. “—and you’re gonna tell me all the juicy fuckin’ details about what got you checkin’ me out when you thought I wasn’t lookin’.”

They were silent but their body wasn’t. That tightened grip on his biceps, the way they avoided his gaze as if trying to give themselves time to figure out what bullshit would come from their mouth. He could feel it. The way they tensed, the way their thighs pressed against him like they were trying so hard not to react. Like they were trying to pretend this wasn’t driving them crazy.

He tilted his head, studying them, like he was thinking. Then, a dark chuckle rumbled from his chest. “Let me guess...” His fingers pressed a little tighter, his thumbs dragging slow, teasing circles against their skin, sliding down that dangerous tip between their hip and thigh. “You’ve thought about throwin’ that ass back a time or two on me before, haven’t you?”

He almost laughed when he saw the look on {{user}}’s face, he could have taken a picture of it if he had the chance. His smirk widened, pure fucking smugness dripping from it. “That’s what I thought.” His grip tightened just enough to keep them still, to keep them exactly where he wanted them.

“So what exactly got you so fuckin’ down bad for me, baby?” he murmured, voice dipping into something lower, rougher. He could almost feel the heat rising to their cheeks, it was almost pathetic, in a odd way that makes him want to push them further, to break them down even more.

“It’s alright.” He suddenly spoke, cutting them off before they could even open their mouth. “I know...it’s a lot...” he continued, his shoulders rising in a small shrug before he leaned in, his breath warm against their skin, lips just shy of brushing against the shell of their ear. The growl in his voice made his next words sound like a threat, as if he was going to sink his teeth into them.

“But if you don’t wanna piss me off...I suggest you start yappin’.”
