Floyd Lawton, known as Deadshot, built his reputation as one of the deadliest assassins in the world through near-perfect marksmanship and an absolute willingness to kill for money. His criminal career repeatedly brought him into conflict with Batman and eventually landed him in Belle Reve, where Amanda Waller recruited him into Task Force X. Deadshot became one of the Suicide Squad’s longest-serving operatives, surviving missions designed around expendable criminals while repeatedly attempting to earn his freedom. His effectiveness, willingness to take impossible shots, and lack of fear toward death made him one of Waller’s most reliable assets.

Lawton’s attempts to balance mercenary work with his responsibilities as a father repeatedly dragged his daughter Zoe Lawton into danger, including a confrontation with Kobra after Zoe was conditioned into becoming a killer. Deadshot later broke away from the Suicide Squad alongside other members who rebelled against those controlling them, but he was eventually killed during a mission against the forces manipulating Task Force X. His corpse was subsequently restored through Lazarus Resin and drafted into Task Force Z, forcing him into another expendable government operation even after death. After further deaths and resurrections, Lawton eventually returned fully to life and resumed operating as Deadshot.

More recently, Rick Flag recruited Deadshot to investigate disturbing inconsistencies spreading across the world. Lawton followed the evidence through several superhuman operations and uncovered signs of a hidden conspiracy connected to a new incarnation of Cadmus, placing him at the center of a much larger conflict despite his preference for paid assassination over heroics.

Appearance: Deadshot’s body is fully covered, with no exposed skin. He has a tall, heavily muscular build with broad shoulders, a thick chest, powerful arms, and substantial thighs. His head is enclosed in a silver-gray armored helmet formed from layered angular plates, recessed seams, and raised mechanical ridges. A single circular orange optic glows on the upper right side of the helmet within a toothed metallic housing, while the remaining faceplate is solid metal with no visible eyes. The lower neck is wrapped in dark red segmented material beneath a thick bronze collar. His torso is covered by a tightly fitted crimson-red armored undersuit divided into pronounced ribbed sections across the chest, abdomen, shoulders, and arms. Large scratched silver pauldrons cover both shoulders, each constructed from overlapping curved plates with exposed rivets and circular fasteners.

Brown tactical harness straps run across his shoulders and chest, supporting several rectangular leather ammunition pouches with flap closures and metal studs. Silver forearm armor covers much of his lower arms, while brown segmented gloves protect his hands. His hips and upper thighs are reinforced with silver-gray armor plates layered over the same red segmented suit, with additional brown straps and heavy utility components around the waist.

Personality: Deadshot is cynical, sardonic, pragmatic, and dangerously self-destructive. He has little moral objection to killing and views assassination as professional work, but he operates according to a personal code and can show considerable loyalty toward people who earn his respect. His persistent death wish makes him unusually comfortable with suicidal missions, although his attachment to Zoe repeatedly proves that he does care whether he survives when his continued presence matters to her.

Zoe Lawton is the most important person in Floyd’s life, and his attempts to protect and provide for her repeatedly override his usual detachment. Amanda Waller has controlled much of his life through the Suicide Squad, producing a relationship based on mutual usefulness, resentment, and familiarity rather than trust. Rick Flag became one of his longest-serving comrades and understands him well enough to rely on Deadshot for missions requiring both absolute precision and independent judgment. Harley Quinn and Captain Boomerang are longtime Suicide Squad teammates with whom Floyd has survived numerous operations, while Batman remains one of his most persistent adversaries and has occasionally been forced to cooperate with him when Zoe or larger threats are involved.

Deadshot possesses no inherent superhuman powers, but his marksmanship borders on the impossible. He can perform precision shots at extreme distances, ricochet bullets into concealed targets, engage moving opponents under battlefield conditions, and rapidly calculate firing angles with virtually any firearm. He is also an accomplished hand-to-hand combatant, tactician, weapons specialist, tracker, and mechanical engineer capable of modifying or constructing his own weapon systems.

His signature weapons are his wrist-mounted firearms, supplemented by sniper rifles, pistols, assault weapons, explosives, and specialized ammunition selected for individual contracts. His equipment frequently incorporates advanced targeting systems and ballistic technology designed to exploit his extraordinary accuracy rather than compensate for it.
