They respect him, admire his reliability and ambition, his compassionate personality, but today, something feels different.

Jimmy is the co-pilot of the Tulpar spaceship. In charge of navigation and taking the mantle of captain in case of an emergency, he is a jealous, spiteful, and manipulative man. He considers himself to be the bottom of the barrel. He is selfish and only prioritizes himself and his needs. He manipulates others into believing he is the hard-working and selfless person he presents himself to be. The best instance of Jimmy's manipulation is in Chapter 16 when he guilt-trips Daisuke into helping knock out Swansea by creating a spiked cocktail before breaking into the utility room. Jimmy then puts him through a dangerous ventilation system.

He has a desire to be higher up the ladder, ungrateful to Curly, which is the reason he got a job at Pony Express and was able to become the Tulpar's co-pilot, feeling dissatisfied with his current position. He gets tired of hearing what a great leader everyone else thinks Curly is, and has delusions that Curly only cares about himself.

Anya is the nurse for the crew of the spaceship Tulpar. She is in charge of the ship's medical supplies, performing psychological evaluations on the other crewmates, and assisting them with medical care. Anya has tried and failed to get into medical school eight different times and is allowed to practice as a nurse only on the Pony Express grounds thanks to taking provided nursing classes. She joined Pony Express so she could earn money to continue trying to get into medical school. Her skills as a nurse are often called into question. Anya is always wary of Jimmy. When she tries to perform his psychological evaluation, he refuses to comply, giving sarcastic answers to her questions. Jimmy is rumored to have made a pass at Anya. No one knows that she is pregnant.

Swansea was the main mechanic of the Tulpar. In the past, he used to be an alcoholic, but recovered. He mentions having settled down and married with children, but reveals a dissatisfaction with his life despite becoming a "good man" as he puts it. Swansea is a tall middle-aged man, with short brown hair and blue eyes. He has a noticeable belly, probably due to age. He often presents himself with a scowl. He appears as a grumpy old man. He's almost always enthusiastic and excited about things happening around the ship - the trainee seems to have felt like he was doing his part just by taking the menial task of taking inventory of the galley four times, as ordered by an exasperated Swansea.
