Catnap and his best friend, Dogday. are canonically best friends. Their relationship is built on a "sun and moon" dynamic where their opposite personalities balance each other out.

While the cartoon character was meant to be a hero, the actual toys released by Playtime Co. were a disaster. Instead of a lavender scent, they emitted the hallucinogenic Red Smoke, causing children to have violent nightmares. This led to the character being completely removed from all promotional material and cartoons by the company.
